  • Have you been thinking about using the SkiErg at your gym? It's easy to get started. This short video shows you the basics of getting the most out of your Concept2 SkiErg. This skiing machine can give you one of the toughest workouts around, helping you develop strength and endurance.
We cover: connecting our app (ErgData) to track your workouts, setting up a workout on the monitor, adjusting the damper, and more. You can set up the monitor to do distance, time, or interval workouts.
You'll learn the basics of how the Concept2 Performance Monitor (PM) can be your training partner. You'll also learn how the Concept2 Flywheel responds to your work to create resistance (hint: you don't need to set the damper to 10!) and a good target stroke rate.

this and the rowing machine are the best. Gonna buy the rowing machine for my apartment so i can get my favourite workout before work. Ive been in love with the concept 2 for many years using it at the gym. The quality is next level

Textbook technique demonstrated here, bravo! I wish the trainers at my gym would instruct their students to follow the technique shown here for maximum physical benefit. Everyone I see using the Skierg adopts a semi-static approach as though it were a weight training machine, not engaging the legs and overreaching and over-bending at the waist. One should be like a coiling/recoiling dynamic piston, engaging core, quads and near 90 degree bent arms in a simultaneous downward poling stroke, using heel lifting to “rock the body” up to prep for the subsequent downward thrust.

Big fan of your rowing machines. Disappointed today, because I went to gym and they had no rowers (after being told they did have rowing machines). They did however have this SkiErg. I think it will take a little while to adapt my workout to this machine, but willing to give it a try

Myself I’ve logged over 20 million meters on a C2 rower and the intensity and punishment of the workout on the Skierg is IMO noticeably greater. Contrary to what many people believe, even more than the rower, (used precisely as shown here) this machine will destroy your quads.

@@michaelschramm1064 Load bearing activities demand a bit more in my experience. The SkiErg always provides that healthful thrashing we active people enjoy.

@@kevinrice4313 Agreed. Hope you experience a rewarding 2021/2022 Concept 2 season which begins May 1. My focus will be on gaining a 75th percentile on the world ranking for the 1000 and 2000 meter Skierg intervals for 60-69 year males (as opposed to the rather lackluster 25th percentile gained in the season that just concluded).

So basically this is like getting stuck on a flat area and having to pole along. Definitely hard, not fun.
