The game was originally a Lost Ark/Diablo-style game, then it got rebooted. Then it got rebooted yet again.
OF COURSE it's gonna be a bit of a mess.
They even stole the map of the Sylvari zone in Guild Wars 2 at 11:26...

@@Idiosynchrosis It was Lineage Eternal and people tried the beta and didn't like it, then they completely changed developer team and made it like Lost Ark but with one main character instead of having a group of characters but in Unreal Engine 4 then they switched it from isometric (top down) to what it is now, this game has been through a lot but what I cannot FOR the life of me understand is how the developers, the people that actually make the game and test it actively don't see the red flags they are creating.
Let's not forget that this game's target audience is supposed to be the western market yet they have made choices that the western market will absolutely hate and most people will drop this game TOPS after a month.
In my opinion this game has so much potential and so much beauty but they completely step on that potential by adding auto play, auto OFFLINE play and progression in a MMO and a stationary combat, I don't mind it being tab target but being unable to attack while moving is the second biggest turn off AFTER the autoplay.
People don't want their next BIG mmo to be another cash grab with mobile trash mechanics.
Even though parts of the game are insanely beautiful (music, environments, visual FX, facial expressions, world design) the choices they have made and continue to make will force this game to die in less than 3 months in the west, I am in shock that AGS went on with it and agreed to publish this.
These people nowadays have no clue why they are creating games, they create games for your PC to play and experience not you..

I just saw extra footage from this game and here is what I found:
-Toggleable auto play all the way (combat, auto pathing, auto looting, your pet auto heals you)
-Cluncky and static tab target combat (you can't even move while attacking)
-Mobile levels of mtx
-You can enable "offline play" if you buy the season pass
-Premium pots that gives you timed buffs that incentivizes AFK play
-Premium currency only auction house
-This game has your typical korean levels of tedious grinding (hence why the auto play is pushed so hard)
I honestly fail to understand how Amazon accepted to take this game under their mantle. It's going to be DOA on the west for sure.

the game cannot be compared to a mobile game. iv played said mobile games, i played this on beta. there is no comparison besides literally the UI, and auto play. the feeling of movement and combat do not compare to amobile game.. it is just sad to see so many adults with mental age of 7 say its a mobile game.. streamers making reviews about combat with 400ping, obvious delay in movement which makes the static combat look even more static.. i think alot of people see this game for what it is tho and will play it.. nothing compares to this game right now in terms of progression and gameplay like pvp/guild systems/open world with 0 load screens or instances for dungeons. crafting is huge in this game. just exploring the part of the map that was open to the world felt so huge.. skill progression is crafting system, weaponry leveling system is complex, world bosses crazy when they get higher level. iv never seen a game do a open world like this and pull it off.. they do not deserve the hate but praise instead. so many people are going to enjoy this game just like in the early days of lineage and lineage 2 with pvp, guild systems, castle sieges, open world events. a focus on pvp from the start of the game to the very end..

After a few hours of watching TnL this my view of it ⬇️
I seen that many areas in between 1-2 hours there's random pvp event and some are collecting stuff mission, so one with most will get hunted or anyone litterly then u give it to a npc till the event ends. (Most items win i guess) so if these auto mode players farm there without being active in the game they can be affected by it and people will kill you cause u are the random pvp event zone.
Then there is that offline mode I don't know how it works if it can dodge the pvp events and make u farm 24/7 without having players around or like that. Only gain offline mode by battlepass i think.
But we have to try ourself the game and see how it be.
I see many complains about graphic that's cause people don't have it maxed or any changes.. i find the graphic look pretty good on those that play with high settings.
People that complain about the static combat style well it's from old lineage and they want to keep it retro that way.
My only concern is auto mode thing. Rest is old retro style of leveling and gearing somewhat. Like it or dislike (:

@@chillracks1311 as someone who doens't play BDO, thats cap. Its always been a Sandbox MMO. PVP/node wars is the end game but someone that you never need to touch.
The prologue is such a bait. With the combat reveal being static, it already had some red flags. Then you go into the world after, and it shits you out into auto-play. Double the red flag. Then you know it's NCSoft Lineage bullshit, so it's going to be giga P2W PVP where they statcheck you and you can't do shit. ANOTHER red flag. I advise anyone to stay away. Even Amazon can't save the monetization of an NCSoft game.

I'm fine with the tab target. Plenty of big names had action combat, ...and it wasn't enough to keep them afloat. As long as it ticks the other boxes, people will play it. Every game was fine for a week or two. But had no sticking power.

This game is broken, that's a fact It has beautiful world but when you stop for a moment, look around and everybody who's around is prolly afk it gives you vibe of a dead world, without soul, you are just one of them, member of horde of bot zombies and its proven to be true even a couple hours into the game when people started pvping others in an event and nobody was reacting to being attacked they kept slapping wolves

I understand why I thought it was more action-based combat. It's because it is zoomed in. I watched your stream and it was zoomed out and looked very generic and less engaging, but with the view zoomed in, it looks similar to the promotional videos. I'll still give it a shot after release.

The combat system in Throne and Liberty may not be as action-packed as some people would like/prefer, but it's important to keep things in perspective. Instead of getting caught up in the outcry, I prefer to view it as a distinctive style. Consider the success of World of Warcraft (WoW) and Final Fantasy XIV (FFXIV), both of which utilize a tab targeting combat system and remain incredibly popular MMORPGs. Before I cast my "judgement", I'm going to play the game and see how the combat system in TL “feels”, something that is not possible to judge by watching. The inclusion of a defense timer sounds like a cool mechanic, looks like the interrupts and kicks in WoW that can spell disaster if mistimed against certain bosses for instance. I will give it a try for sure.
I don't mind tab targeting but the animations have next to no weight and that bothers me a bit. It worked fine in BnS where it was mostly inspired from martial arts fantasy flicks where super fast action is kind of a recurring trope, but in medieval fantasy it just looks weird.
Like someone activated fast forward but only on the animations.
Its not the Tab target is the static Tab target. They should allow to move and attack. Like wow or ff14 that you mentioned

The developers needs to trust the players that they can aim. We have more control that way and good movement will become fun.
Tab-targetting is too outdated nowadays, unless you make it very smooth, responsive and kinda flashy, which it doesn't feel like it at all on the video.

Everyone crying over the combat but no one knows that the combat is actually changing as you progress and unlock more weapon skills. No it's not locked in place there are many mobility skills and action combos waiting for u. Also you need to get out of the auto hunt levels and start playing the game cuz auto hunt switches the combat to full tab target and is 100% slower after the first few levels
The combat is so good that you don't even need to be on your pc to play omegalol

Man, that huge whale creature creeped the hell out of me! And the Dwarf transforming into a Siege Creature was a nice wink at Lineage 2.
I honestly don't mind tab-target combat, it might be simple in solo-play, but it might encourage good team composition without making a mess out of mid-big scale PvP.
I just hope we can get rid of that pesky little helper sooner than later.

I know this is getting alot of hate, but damn a epic introduction - Amazing world and story design, really well done motion capture and animations. I have played sooo many mmorpgs the last 20+ years, and im getting some nice wibes. old school combat yes..but hey..im also old school. Time will tell if there are still players out there that will create a nice community in this game, becuase after all, that is what makes any mmo great. All we have today is single player mmorpg's, and im hopeing old school gameplay may change that....auto hunt aside ;-). Thank you Steparu for another great video

Saw the news of this game coming out for a long time and said that it would only be released on PC and console.
Of course, it's still doing it as a mobile phone, but maybe how much it is, let's see again.
If the game fixes the combat system to make it more realistic like in PC, it would be great...

the cinematography on this game is incredible, we rteally reached a new age in gaming. l just hope it doent be like this for the first part of the game and then becomes a grind fest, like every mmo.

@@paintspot1509 unlike most l dont mind auto farm actually. The point of mmos is to keep people online right so why should have to get bored with grinding if it can be done automatically?
I don’t understand why everyone says combat is so bad. I like it. I like that you can parry so you don’t really have to run around and fight. I think I’ll enjoy it. Hyped again! 😅
