I will forever remember Alberta Watson as a woman of beauty, modesty poise, strength and grace. A woman that defines what it means to be the essence of what an ideal woman should strive to be.
Satin didn't stand a chance against Madeline. She should have taken revenge & cleaned house in successive episodes after this one. You die hard La Femme Nikita fans out there know what I'm talking about. But, I guess, reservation or reservedness is the greater power. I always saw a bit of myself in her character. I hated it that the world had to lose Alberta Watson. She brought such greatness and insight to that character. I wonder how they recruited her (Alberta)? She did, of course, in grand style, violate the truce and transmit with this cool little fleck of a device taken from underneath her fingernail that no doubt was energized & activated by the ambient chemicals present within tap water. These writers were absolutely A+!
Yes well described..each main character was a masterpiece so was Madeline..I hate she died but the way she cancelled her self was the best possible in circumstances (as always)
I just love how both Madeline and Satin started "strutting" once the exchange began. Both of them just exuded confidence. I think Madeline won in that area, tho. XD
I think Alberta is my spirit being as I wanted her confidence my entire life. I even remember when she saved Nikita from having to do her job in relation to a cancellation. The only saving grace of "Nikita" reboot was that they employed Alberta, though in a different role.
I was just thinking,,, her character, here, Madeline, was the only one powerful enough to take on this mission: Walking right into the arms of the enemy! She (Madeline) was a 'professional', alright. This show, its first three seasons particularly, was so... astonishing. Why, the things that these poor people in "Section 1" had to endure on a weekly basis. It was unbelievable what they encountered every week, -cars exploding, viruses proliferating in Section, sleeping with the enemies, terrorism. One time they even had to evacuate, destroy their own headquarters, and abandon ship. -Thanks to 'Red Cell', was it? Now get back in there and ask for a glass of water! Lol!
I remember this having quite a creepy and ambiguous end - was Operations really going to just let Madeline die when the self destruct went off?! His strange look at the end suggests he was!
can someone explain this clip to me as a new fan? are they trading hostages? why in a giant stadium where there can by snipers everywhere in the stands?
They are exchanging high-level operatives, who also happen to be hostages by virtue of their job description. No snipers advisable to either side, as the data indicates that they both need each other to survive, so there is a temporary truce in place. Both staff members will be blind-folded and transported in a soundproof backseat of vehicle to protect and conceal information about the location of each other's secret bases. Each side secretly wants to backstab the other but neither wants to do it too early, because they both still face a common enemy that could destroy them both. Mutually assured destruction. The same war theory for why the U.S. and Russia don't nuke each other, as both parties will end up losing when its over.

One of Madeline's best sequences with the music matching the mood!
Fun Fact : This TV Show ended in *2001*
David Production chose the Best Ending Music !
Love her!! She plays it so cool. She was made for this role imo.
