It does, but you've got to read between the lines a bit. The point is that without a seat belt, you'll hit the airbag while it's still inflating, which it does at a tremendous speed. With the seat belt on, you'll hit it only after it is fully inflated, and thus able to deflate.

It slows you down a bit so you don't get hit by the inflation phase. I've always wondered what exactly would happen to someone with their feet on the dash when the bag pops. Can't be good...
It's not only about slowing you down... It's about stopping your body from continuing going towards the airbag. Without the seatbelt your body would continue the trajectory and the airbag would empty because it has those openings in the back. If it that happens your body would hit the steering wheel anyway. While if you use the seatbelt, you will hit the airbag until a point that the airbag will slowdown your trajectory, but then the seatbelt will stop you from going further and preventing your body from emptying the airbag and hitting the rest of the car. They have to be combined so one smooths the hit, ans the other prevents your body from being thrown and bypassing the airbag.
When I go into a vehicle, I also put on a seatbelt, when available 😊👍 I do understand city buses don't have a seatbelt, but I guess it's so passengers easily can enter and exit the bus, so it follows its schedule
Got into an accident once and the only injury I received was from the air bag , as it inflated after the actual accident . I remember realizing we’re all okay and then BOOM airbag right hooks my face and shoulder area
This is a perfect example of what didn't happen when I got into an accident. I'm glad it didn't too, would have been an arm and a leg to replace the airbags, but thanks to the impact happening on one of my cars crush points, it kept that impact from setting off my airbags thankfully
The airbag works whether you are wearing the seatbelt or not. Your misleading description may lead some to avoid seatbelt use in an attempt to bypass the airbag. Please correct this. Airbags are dangerous.
I think it's more apt to say the airbag is *tuned* to use with a seatbelt. You can tune it differently to work without one, but it probably won't be as effective.
You read the description correctly. It was poorly written. Warning: The airbag WILL deploy even if you are wearing a seatbelt. Do not try to shut off the airbag by not using the seatbelt.

@@ZiZz0rTiZz0r because it's a fucking CZcams short
No one: Thank god the air bags worked
Someone: those are my lungs
When I go into a vehicle, I also put on a seatbelt, when available 😊👍
I do understand city buses don't have a seatbelt, but I guess it's so passengers easily can enter and exit the bus, so it follows its schedule
Thank you for anyone who helped the invention of airbag and seatbelt system ❤
Wrecked a 2020 ram with no seatbelt and that shit went off
the fact that you chose a woman 😂😂
😅
They already have 2 airbags with them.. And that's why woman drives bad 😂
Animation was perfect..
They even got the driver correct
Got into an accident once and the only injury I received was from the air bag , as it inflated after the actual accident . I remember realizing we’re all okay and then BOOM airbag right hooks my face and shoulder area
Alright, who put a goddamn boulder in the road?
Guanidine nitrate? I always thought it was sodium azide. Interesting. Guess it'd be less toxic than the azides
"Save gas, wear your seatbelt" is what I'm hearing
This is a perfect example of what didn't happen when I got into an accident. I'm glad it didn't too, would have been an arm and a leg to replace the airbags, but thanks to the impact happening on one of my cars crush points, it kept that impact from setting off my airbags thankfully
Great explanation!
Women ☕☕
No wonder Spongebob ain't got a license. He couldn't even park his boulder right
Very good. Was always interested but never investigated. Thanks
The airbag works whether you are wearing the seatbelt or not. Your misleading description may lead some to avoid seatbelt use in an attempt to bypass the airbag. Please correct this. Airbags are dangerous.
I was mislead by the title too. Luckily, I don't think anyone would intentionally want the airbag to not turn on (and do so by not wearing a seatbelt)
not wearing seatbelt just to not have airbag deployed? sounds like Darwin award waiting to happen
@@scorpion2.411 Oh... I've met several people that might do that very thing.
"wont work" should be changed to "wont work properly"
i guess its a typo
The title in misleading, tho i don't think it's on purpose.
Driving straight into a rock
Yeah that a ☕️ in my book.
I like the ending. It rocked!
I think it's more apt to say the airbag is *tuned* to use with a seatbelt. You can tune it differently to work without one, but it probably won't be as effective.
This video is even more accurate with the woman being a driver
IKR
More like, won't perform its intended purpose properly, no?
Just wear your seatbelt then. 🤷♂️
Right, that would be the correct and complete title.
Didn’t know the holes on the back even existed, brilliant.
Yeah.
You let a woman character on drive seat. That's why the airbag is activated.
@@avenger09123 but she's a WaMAn she can do whatever a man can
Its still not clear why it doesn't gets deployed when seat belt is not used.
i think thats not what they meant
@@jagdishprajapati9574 I think they didn't watch the video.
You read the description correctly. It was poorly written.
Warning: The airbag WILL deploy even if you are wearing a seatbelt. Do not try to shut off the airbag by not using the seatbelt.
This super fast expansion of an airbag uses a technique called 'Sonic Inflation' and the physics behind it is amazing. Look it up
Yeah the animation is just top teir absolutely nailed it
now car accidents just feel like pillow fights
Airbags look comfy, I wanna go to sleep so bad.
She killed Spongebob and Squidward, ruined my pizza, and FORGOT MY DR.KELP
One of the best explanations I have heard regarding airbags ❤
As a person who has driver license for 55 years i can say a huge rock apparing in the middle of the road and people driving frontally into it in broad daylight with really good field of vision happens a lot and is really realistic (I don’t have a drivers’s license).
That's why my father says, drive with your eyes, not without your eyes😅
Thnx for helping people raise their awareness
The rock was committed insurance fraud
Excellent demonstration
Why does this look like a meme lmao
That's why eat center fresh during driving and make your own airbag on time💀💀
In life, we have road blocks.
Airbag is the greatest misnomer. It is a bomb bag.
finally a video that gives me good information
"Oh no there a giant rock in the middle of the road"
"Let hit it to test the airbag function"
That airbag faster than my internet
Very informative video. Thanks for the info
