I like how the shower is also a bath for little kids. So many people worry about not having room for a bathtub when they have small children and he solved that.
except for those pebbles would hurt to sit on and be a bitch to clean all the gout... they could have just installed a half size tub, they sell them at home depot. Much easier to clean and more comfortable to use!
@@shirleya-z794 It would be very easy to clean and soft round pebbles are not nearly as uncomfortable as you may think. This is a fantastic shower that perfectly solves an issue people have with children.
Tiny houses tend to not have extra space to just throw in a bathtub here or there.
@@voltsnbolts8879 as a professional cleaner I disagree, tiles are always harder to keep clean than a smooth surface and the grout eventually wears away. Anyway my daughter would never bathe in something like that. I've also seen tons of tiny houses with tubs, but whatever, if you like it that's fine.
The small tiles are great for preventing slips. As a mother of 5, I was instantly relaxed by this safety feature.
Or they could just give their children showers instead of baths lol, but to each their own !

I love that there are private spaces and the office. I want a small house oneday. Tiny homes are too tiny for me, but there are many design elements I'd like to use. I have a disabled sibling I will always live with, and privacy is important to both of us.

I grew up in a mobile home/s (manufactured, the second one smelled like formaldehyde for weeks when we first moved in) in a big woods like that. We had a little more length but no loft space. It was plenty of room for us, especially with a nice outdoors all around. It would have been great to have a place that was all natural like this one!
The difference for us was to have the kids' room/s at one end and mom's room at the other which was probably nice for her peace and quiet.
As a mum with a young family... this is such a dream! Thank you for sharing this gorgeous (and healthy!) home! 💕

Well-designed and eco friendly. It would be nice if there was a regular small sofa for the family to relax instead of a hard built in. The toilet could use some improvement also. The fridge looks really small for a family and there is no washer/dryer for laundry. But overall, the builder did a good job to fit a family of four. Especially love the home office - great work space.

I must be the only person to not love this one. I appreciate the design, but I really didn't like the loft. It felt claustrophobic to me. I think lofts may just not work for me - but with a husband at 6'7", we'd never be comfortable with short ceilings anyway.
I didn't like all the safety hazards, but I can't blame the builder for those. The lofts are crazy tight, but the owners came up with that too.

you are not the only one. If some others Ive seen had the extra space, I think we'd see a much better design. Plus no way do I want to be that dependent on propane. I want to be free.
It's a bit tight in the bedroom space, but I thought of it as cozy rather than claustrophobic.

This is by far the best tiny house I've ever seen taking in mind all the different things that are important in a tiny house, it's near perfection!
I'm 23, and the time to get my own place isn't far off. Thanks to this channel, I don't see myself ever opting for a regular house. This would be the perfect way to live :)

that's one of the great things about tiny houses, you don't need a tiny bed space, you can design the roof bigger and make it more spacious! you can design it the way you want

I've watched so many of these vids and yet to find one that doesn't wow me. The 'natural' aspects of this build are fantastic. Love that the shower base can be a mini tub for the kidz. The office design is great - hanging space for clothes... not in a damp bathroom... access to that veranda... plus room for books!
I'm sold. I'm moving into a tiny house.

Build it yourself if you can. Because based on what we can see, the tiny house movement became such a bat-shit crazy expensive business that builders will probably ask for your liver and left arm before they actually put the first screw in the trailer !
Plus if you build it yourself, you'll be able to brag about it when Bryce will visit you and showcase your home !

Tallulah Beaverhausen it's true that builders do charge a premium for their services, but for those that can't build on their own, it's good that they make their services available... If you ask me, I think it's good to find a builder that will let you be active on the build, possibly to reduce costs, but ultimately to get that sense of pride in constructing your own home...

So beautiful .. I think this is my favourite tiny house I've ever seen and in my favourite city
Now this is more like it. All these little houses are so narrow, but see what a difference 2 extra feet can make. You can have an actual stairway and it doesnt interfere with the floor space. The bathroom is my favorite room. It is beautiful!!! And wherever you look out of a window, you see the woods. A great space in which to live comfortably and aesthetically. Great design job.

First time Bryce didn’t discuss cost. That is always my interest when comparing what can be done with the space and materials. I like the use of propane which can avoid having to completely improve a lot or space. Great tour as usual. Bryce always seems fresh no matter how many tiny homes he walks into or sums up!
This one is believable. A lot of times people will point to their work space or their clothing storage and it’s a clean space with a laptop and no cord or a hand full of shirts. I like seeing a tiny house that looks like people are actually living in it and honestly it looks to tight for me. I’m glad for the realistic portrayal

Love the warmth and smell of fresh natural wood inside these Tiny Homes rather than all the white interiors that leave me cold. I think he's done a great job with the design over all but I would cover up those open shelves under the kitchen sink with cabinet doors! Love the bathroom as well but I always like a bathtub along with a shower. Loved his office space as well, lovely to look out onto nature! Thanks for sharing~
This is awesome. I loved everything right there. The office was big enough,the kitchen was open and big enough,the bathroom was big also, and the loft was awsm. I loved the idea that he closed the loft but not just left open. Thats amazing and not at all tiny. This tiny house is perfect to overcome every features that a normal flat can provide.

Allowing more than the standard 8.5' width clearly allows for significant design latitude. 10' is still narrow enough for rail shippment, but would be considered a wide load on roads. The extra width looks to be well worth the expense of occasional shipping.
In the US, states regulate & permit heights and width, often in the traffic code. No idea if Canadian rules are national, or vary by province & territory.
I totally love all of the wood and the lighting accents it beautifully. And, they’re not afraid to use large framed art work on the walls. Love it, I can almost smell the wood. Definitely feeling those negative ions!
Lovely house. I like the bathroom, office and children's room the most. The kids are definitely happy there.

Yeah...I can totally see these guys hanging out at Burning Man. :) A cool house with a warm interior! Definitely on the bigger side and very fitting for the island.
The first floor is really amazing!! I love the office room, and the living room/dining room, and the kitchen. Love it very, very much! It feels cozy. I love open working space.
The bedroom feels a little too dark/too cramped for me, but I suppose if it works for the owner and his family, then it's okay.

Really, one of the most fabulous bath rooms I’ve ever seen at tiny home! As a matter fact the whole thing just looks and feels like a home twice it’s size or three times that size. I love all the natural materials I love the porch on each end. Just super well done!

This one's definitely not a tiny tiny house!! Great use of space and customization for his clients. Beautiful window with the bee design!! Love the deck and the office-cum-dressing area. The vents in the bedrooms are really thoughtful.

Wow. This borders on what would be found on a regular house. It's just more compact. High end mobile home. I love the upper loft area and the office space opening to a deck. Something I thought of for myself, but haven't seen until now. Excellent job. Now I need to find out more about that air exchange bit he was talking about.

Pretty home and healthy but I hope they have fire extinguisher and a way to get out of loft. One family had a scare in theirs and realized how you can be trapped easily. Their next home had 2 doors and pop out windows. And maybe because I do it a lot, how do they wash their clothes? Bucket?
Why do you care how they wash their clothes?
There are several different small washers n washer/dryer combos that don't take up much room.
fire extinguishers readily available practically everywhere. Maybe the skylight opens?

Victoria is very warm! I lived there for many winters and only saw snow twice. Vancouver Island is paradise any time of the year. Perfect to kill the winter blues!

Q: If there is no treatment process for the timber, how is termite prevention assured? I get that cedar is a natural repellant but it is not 100% fool proof. Or are Australian termites the only ones that will eat through wood that they aren’t supposed to? 😂. Just wondering.
All termites eat wood; but not cedar 🙃
Termites aren't a problem in this region (PNW, specifically Vancouver Island), I've never heard of termites doing any damage to a building here. You might see some bugs eating the wood but that is only when there is moisture present inside the walls which is in itself definitely the bigger issue.
