the bed... that's really clever design. one of the best tiny houses featured here no doubt
Ya that is for sure the best part of his house design. Do not think i seen it being done like that before
.
And lifting the kitchen, that gives it another level....
exactly you have the TV for both living and bedroom
I agree. He can use a far pleasant bed cloth. The stone floor didn't strike interesting but the high walls does make a difference.
I like the designs with the bed under the kitchen. I have seen it before, up to a king size bed. Very doable. I do like the amount of storage he has built into the bed!
"the big fridges end up being full of expired condiments"
This should have been in the Bible
Mokkatomic I'm sure it is in the Irish Catholic version, just before "a beer not drank is fair game for someone else to drink"... I'm paraphrasing of course! 😁
Yeah I still prefer a big fridge tough
Hahahahahahahahaha true true! 11th commandment!
Love it!! Lol
The size they make them today is big enough to use as a tiny house.
That's a pretty brilliant plan to rent out your current house and live on your own property....
I thought the same thing. That was a very smart thing to do
Yes but I'd not like to rent a house with its owner in the backyard! no way lol
In Australia, we call them Granny Flats. It's like living in a Granny Flat on your property and renting out your home.
@nova_ray no privacy!
No privacy? lol
the bed design is genius, wow.
Dude this guy is living my dream, soon ima go to school for firefighting, buy land, buy a tiny house and just me and my dog!
Mynson Anderson sounds like a very awesome dream, be sure to write to Bryce when that happens, and maybe he'll do a tour of your tiny house?
Mynson Anderson I wish you the best in seeing your dream come to pass!
Mynson Anderson my dream too!!!! I'm planning on buying some land and an RV over summer first, then go for firefighting :)
That sounds amazing, how long does it take you to become a firefighter?
In a few years I’ll be training to be a paramedic! I definitely want to live in one of these!
This is a great layout for seniors too!
Except for the stairs, I would loooove to have a tiny home. You’d be surprised how stairs become a challenge when aging 😉
sue Downey Exactly. Stairs are not good for the elderly.
I'm a senior, only maybe three steps stairs, and, microwave, toaster oven, not below waist level. Everything must be waist level. No incinerating toilet for me, just saying. Great for a single adult. 👍🤠
"Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication".
Leonardo Da Vinci.
Bill Hicks I couldn't agree with that quote more!
"You are free. To do as we tell you."

Wow Bryce, so many interesting features in this house. I love the slide under the floor bed ! I love the toilet and the step up kitchen. So cool, to have that long drawer for the shoes. I like his woodstove. It's so nice not to see that all tiny homes have to have a loft bed. Thanks again, I love your channel....you find the best places to live.
Two people can conveniently sleep over the bed. THat's good.
Bryce, this tiny house is fabulous. The roller bed seems to work easier than some. Great ideas
Bryce, I'm nearly speechless here, what an incredible tiny house this is! This sounds like the kind of energy I want put into my tiny house! I love that he's a fireman, he gives a perspective that many of us dreamers do worry about, but also who is a little weird, but still follows the rules! I'm going to go batty(battier?) the longer I have to wait to start building my tiny house!
ImDBatty1 me too only 7 years until I probably can
WOW !!! I love the bed rolling in and out
Stephen Soares it certainly is dual purpose, isn't it?
I love how firefighters always opt for incinerating toilets, those seem so cool haha
wow! I absolutely love this design. So sleek, smart, simple yet cozy! I love the basket storage, the pull-out bed, THE KITCHEN??! This has to be my favorite no-loft kinda tiny house design.
My favorite bed design. Well done!
tiki lebby it's clever and multipurpose, a must for tiny houses!
Yes mine to.
Great interview. Like the guy and his honesty about what works and what works better. This is the first tiny house where from both the front and interior, I kept wondering what was in the other rooms behind it. So with that, my head was tricked into seeing it as a regular house. Apparently that quality has been elusive and I appreciate finally seeing it here.
I love this YT channel so much !! Not only because I'm a cabin/tiny house lover, but also because these videos are so well edited, and it's obvious that Bryce is passionate, always asking interesting questions and all ! Thanks for such quality content !
soif_pls Bryce certainly has been putting out quality content over the years! So glad to see someone see his passion the same! 👍
Well spoken, humble owner. Equally well thought out arrangement and design too. Respect.
Poo burning toilet-awesome!!
Amazing tiny home for one person and it don't have a loft that's great!
Fire has always been a concern of mine in tiny homes. I don't think the builders of all these tiny homes plane for safety as much as they should in these homes! I see these tiny home's with really high up small windows and of course everything in the home is put away nice and tidy like a fire extinguisher not easy to get if you need it in a hurry!
Still my Fav. This guy is so cool. Happy for him, finding a way to do the job you love and payoff your home too.
I too love the concepts of the earthships and how they can be completely self-sustaining! My boyfriend lives in Edmonton and knows of my obsession with tiny houses, so this is super cool! And this looks so well built. Thank you for this interview and for the great question about how to make this safe from a firefighter's perspective.
I like the house... and also the owner, he looks friendly, a bit shy but still selfconfident, has beautiful blue eyes and a nice smile
Love the way he put the bed in this house.
*Spoke too soon, I love the entire design! lol Great job.
He may have a second "calling"... designing tiny houses in his free time. 😉
I'm becoming more fascinated with the earth ship idea. It's been around for 50 years, but it's makes sense now more than ever!
I have to say I am impressed. The interior is very well laid out and has great style. I love the raised kitchen/rolling bed idea. The owner sounds very organized and intelligent and obviously knows what he wants.
Great layout and space saving features. I like the idea of an incinerating toilet. 👍👍
Hey steve love the bed one of a kind, thank you for serving as a firefighter be safe man
Clever guy. Nice space and financial plan. Love how he changed the things that didn't work for him.
Brilliant design, especially the bed, and the lack of a loft gives SO MUCH space inside!
Great information, knowing what doesn't work, such as the brick floor, is just as valuable as knowing what does.
This man is such a lovely human! I live about 5 hours from him and it’s so inspiring to see someone so close to me be able to accomplish this ☺️
Very small tiny house, but not having the loft made it huge. Great for a sing guy. A loft could always be put in later above the TV too. Even the step up to kitchen made seem bigger too. Loved this one.
Love the sense of humor about living in a shed in his back yard when asked about the inciner toilet
these tiny houses needs to become more popular.
Love the high kitchen and bed system, truly unique
Now this is a Tiny House and I love that toilet. Everything a person needs and so they don't. Great job.
Well you did it! You've interviewed someone in my situation. He shows me it Can be done. Thank you! Love your work.
chowe9 don't you just love how Bryce's videos make things all fall into place?
Yeah! No loft sleeping quarters.
the production quality from this channel is insane
Wow! I live in Edmonton and never had a clue there was anyone with a tiny home... good job Steve!! Thanks Bryce!
Loved this one. I'm born and raised from Red Deer. Just around the corner from Edmonton but still central Alberta. It was great to hear the perspective and experience building a custom tiny home from a fella in my neck of the woods.
Just so you know, Bryce, this channel keeps fueling my interest and desire to at some point in the near future live in a tiny house. I blame and thank you and your channel for that. :P
Jordan Leising I'm sure you're one of the million or so he's inspired... 👍
Love the idea with the sliding bed. I don't like the Murphy style beds, but this I somehow find really great.
I liked the bed. This has been the most interesting hideaway design to avoid a loft. Very compact.
This guy is practical and inventing.
It's easy to move around on his design house, and no need to do Tarzan climbing up and down.
If he gets old then, he will enjoy moving around too. Woow!
I not only love the layout, but the clever storage and closet and burning toilet that looks like a full size seat.
Of course it could be made a little bigger if needed.
Another great video. Thanks.
Definitely one of the better tiny houses on this channel.
love it..... a bigger frig just ends up full of expired condiments :) another unique practical housing solution. Tx Bryce, Rich
He is right about the big refrigerators they end up being full of condiments.
Never seen a toilet that burns your poop but interesting idea plus the upscale water heater. No one ever pointed out CO2 detectors and smoke detectors smart.
Love that he has three sources of heat. Never thought to live in such a tiny space but he has it figured out pretty well with the bed that goes right under the kitchen floor. Pretty awesome!
An incinerating toilet, that is some hot shit. literally.
I Saw A Bear incinolet.com is their website, if you're into all that pooh pooh kinda stuff! haha 👍
ImDBatty1 Look at you providing that link so quickly. One would think you're into all that poop kinda stuff!! ROFL
SpydrKat one might say my inner pyro has been channeled... 🤣 Another might say I was requested by an employer to research toilet options for her property... 🙄 I'm still fond of the Norwegian brand called a Cinderella... 😱
I never knew this existed, they should've called it a dragon loo for branding purposes!
If I may be so opportunistic, aside from Cinderella did you come across any other European brands?
Swan Rider I did, shall I presume that you want the links?
I like the hidden bed and coffee table idea. The shoe storage is awesome too.
It's great to see it from a firefighters point of view, best thing for me were the bed and coffee table section, then that fantastic toilet, didn't know there was such a thing...😍🤩🥰
Great job Steve 😀👍🤜
This is an awesome tiny house and he really put a lot of thought into it. Plus 2 houses on the same property! Very clear!
Great house, I love the rolling bed and coffee table. It’s so well laid out... big living area, large bed and great size kitchen. Well done! Thanks Bryce! :)
I love the bed hidden underneath the kitchen! Beautiful design.
So innovative! The rolling bed with built-in storage, slide-out coffee table, rambling counterspace, herb wall, French doors, and "no ladder/no loft" make this very homey and entirely livable despite it's compact 10x17' size (only 140 sq.ft) I love the exterior style as well. Great job, KUDOS!
Thank you ! It's been really fun living in this space
What a great tiny house. Fitted with everything you need.
Cheers!
depends on who you are, I would miss an office space for instance
Oh my goodness!! I was so excited to see that you guys made it Edmonton!!! I agree, the space saving ideas were so great... also, I have never even heard of an incinerating toilet. Amazing house, and I hope there are more homes featured from Alberta :)
Samantha Franke incinolet.com if you want more potty talk, here's their website!
Thank you! I will check it out!
Samantha Franke always happy to help! ☺️
Really pragmatic, intelligent, hard working, realistic and self deprecating cool builder who knows how to balance his books as well as the many ingredients, facets and demands of his life. Although small, the house is cleverly designed and ample for his needs and goals. Quite ingenious and no small feat...only footprint ;) Thanks all - stay well.
Speaking about fire safety and storing the books right beside the woodstove :D
But great video and great house again :)
🤣🤣
If you understand fire science fuel+heat+oxygen in the correct ratio - the potential of combustion is near zero.
Sparks cant penetrate steel, and reflective sheet steel surface would reduce the heat factor to nothing. The books would hold heat as thermal mass like a log cabin.
I like that you asked about fire safety. I want to learn more. When we finally build our tiny/small house, i want to make sure it's as safe as possible. Also, not having the loft and having that space made the living room seem huge.
For the size of this Tiny Home, it feels larger than a lot of larger ones I've seen. Good stuff!!!
wow his floor plan gave chills!
Very true what he said about fire safety. I think quite a few of those tiny houses could easily become blazing fire death traps.
The way the bed rolls out is AWESOME! Why don't more tiny house builders do this, instead of crawling up into a loft they can't even sit up in? Makes my neck hurt to watch them!
I love what he do with the bed, is very clever, with the loft style bed a lot of space on top is wasted but this way you can use the space when needed.
I impressed with every little detail of this tiny house especially fire protection idea and rest room and deck and all the details actually.
I think this is an EXCELLENT use of available space. That bed is well executed, and much like an onion for it's mutliple uses. It's a bed, but it also houses the coffee table, which supports the end of it, but it's also drawer storage, and lift-up bed storage..... 10/10 for that.
Also, thanks for pointing out the incinerating toilet. It strikes me as much more "socially acceptable". "Oh yeah, it incinerates everything at 1,400 degrees." Much less squick factor for finicky suburbanites who don't like the idea of handling their own waste, however obliquely.
I love this design !!!! My favorite. Organized, simple, beautiful... Love this . thank you thank you. The bed isn't a loft. Perfect for me and my pup !!!
👍Very nice. I love how the bed tucks away and all of the hidden storage.💞
wow this is INCREDIBLE! ive been binge watching all the tiny houses on youtube for the last couple of months and almost all of them theres one thing were im like “ehh i dont like that”. or “i wouldnt do it that way” but this tiny house was built in such a smart way and a great design i feel like i might use this design when i make mine. wow!
I like how that bed slides out and in.
I love this one so much! I always love the roll-out beds. Best space savers!
Great !!!
The house and the lifestyle !
I LOVE that counter top! ...and the rest of the design. It's beautiful.
Wow! Living in a tiny house in Edmonton, Alberta! That’s amazing. It’s very cold in the winter in Edmonton. I think it was -40 Celsius (-40 Fahrenheit). I’m very impressed with this tiny house. I would need a bigger space but I love the design and I love that it is warm in the winter. Also great idea to have 3 ways to heat the home. Propane can freeze at low temperatures so I like that he can use wood or electric to heat as well. 👍👍👍
Nice floorplan. Great for a person who spends a ton of time away from home too. Security is a ton off a persons mind when they are first responders. Great organizational components. So, this gets a high 5 from me!
I've been suffering from back problems. As much as I loved the lofts in tiny houses, climbing to my bed was not an option. The slide out bed/ sofa looks amazing and a much better option for people like me or senior citizens! Thanks for posting!
I like the brick floor. It feels good and very refreshing on hot summer days. No need to change it; it just needs a warm rug winter time. Bricks also warm up when heat is on and keeps the warm after heat is turned off; it cools off slowly once it warmed up? Saves some dollars bill.
Never thought this show would ever end up in bloody Edmonton. Actually wild.
Oh I love the rolling bed!
Smart landlord, who is has people who also look out for his. Firefighters and Police Officers, Security Guards are also in my prayer list, and our USA Country Troops and our USA Veterans. Blessings, protection, over all in uniform helping people.
the brick floor is actualy great idea , i would use it with electric heat mats underneath, that are used for heating ceramic tile floors , the brick would then absorb the heat and slowly release it up :)
that tiny wood stove, so very cute. Good for when you are up and can feed it, otherwise, the other two heating options work better for sleep time. Always need lots of storage space. I am one that hates clutter. I think that would be the best way to go, spend more on the toilet because in the long run, its a nu fuss toilet !
5:10 Very smart move to put the bed under the kitchen and function as a couch. 6:15 Love this idea to get extra shoe space, it is also optimal because it is right by the door. 9:18 that's a very different toilet from most people, might be smarter even if it is more expensive
Wow,maybe my favorite tiny house I've ever seen. Beautiful.
I actually have the same bed idea because I have dogs. He can put his pillows on the stationary couch/bench part and have extra space. Sort of makes it a long queen bed. Love it.
LOL firefighter poops in a burning toilet. great job. I'm from EU, like this house very much, reminds me of German/Netherlands approach. 3-source heating, just in case, to follow energy economics. Attention to detail is excellent. Big windows, much light. Every European architect would like to have you as fire inspector.
It's absolutely gorgeous and I love that it's on the smaller side. Thanks for the video, I love to see all the cool things that people come up with!
I love the double doors. this is the set up my mother and l are looking for. 😊 such a smart guy.
I love this house!
I like the pull out bed and the coffee table. Very nice home
Bryce. Thank you again for a very warm and delightful video about homes. Really inspiring for us dreamers
Wow! Great design. Best tiny home bed storage ever! ♥️
The rolling bed is so cool!
the bed under the floor is brilliant
Great place. Loved the rollout bed, toilet and kitchen. I loved it all! Smart fella too ❤️
Isn't it nice when you love all of the house just speaks to you? 🙂
Fantastic design! Great space saving ideas. Now he's gotta think about replacing the roof on his other home. It was lioking shabby.
This guy is so cool! Awesome home!
