Update on the long theory paragraph: 12 June
The archons are such well written characters imo.
They receive both hatred and admiration because of their actions.
Zhongli, being the god of contracts cannot break a contract for the sake of someone, whether they're suffering. He made a contract with Guizhong that he'll protect his and her people by any cost.
That's why even after giving his gnosis away he reassured us that if something was bound to happen to Liyue, he'll come back as an Archon and defend it.
The contract he did with Azhdaha (my apologies if I spelled it wrong) was coming next to his previous.
That's why probably even if he wanted to help Az, because after all Gods do have feelings and understanding, he couldn't harm his people.
When he gave his gnosis away he firmly said "A contract to end all contracts" but it meant truly to end all contracts as the Geo Archon.
Not to end all contracts as the God of Contracts.
If he stepped on his own word, breaking his own very meaning, his title as the God of Contracts would simply be meaningless. Same goes for Venti.
If he tried to step in, stopping the aristocracy from damaging the city, it'll mean that the God of Freedom puts restrictions to one's life and decisions.
The archons have such amazing characters akkdkrkfkg sorry for the paragraph I just had a brain enlightenment.
Edit regarding Zhongli's Gnosis lore:
I misunderstood some details regarding his intention after giving the Gnosis, but there are nice people in the comments fixing my mistake.
Edit: I've been star strucked once more with a few more theories and arguments. Brace with me and apologies in advance for my butcherd english.
I do believe that Celestia isn't necessarily the ultimate power within that world, because if it was, do you think it would simply let itself fall or incline once 2 gnosis lost their owners?
I think Celestia is sustained by the power the gnosis gaines from their possessors.
What if Tsaritsa stole the gnosis to make delusions of a higher power and in the meantime bring the Celestials down to earth.
The same way our delusions which we know about are made to outshine the visions.
So afterwards she can destroy the gnosis and remain with delusions which she will probably give to the Fatui.
So far we know about her having 2, Venti's and Zhongli's.
I'm gonna assume she's gonna try stealing more.
But since some of the new archons are said to be loyal to Celestia I doubt is gonna be an easy task for her.
I don't think Tsaritsa is a character to be trusted either.
Even as the Goddess of Love, who's said to be kind and caring, she can be just as misleading as any one else.
I don't think she cares if something is gonna happen to the other archons.
I do believe she's stealing the gnosis and making a plan to destroy Celestia "out of love".
The love for power, the love for justice, the love for revenge.
She literally created and granted delusions to give to her own people in order to build up power. And her people can simply get killed by it, same with Crepus or possibly Childe if we wanna go angsty.
I don't think she's very aware of how delusions affect the human body.
As a God with an ideal she's focused on achieving it no matter how many may fall before her.
Anyway these theories might be out of place but are just some shower thoughts I've had and I wanted to gain some opinions.
Another tiny theory that I've come up with.
Friendly reminder, these theories are somehow irrelevant but there are countless possibilities for a plot hahaha.
The Celestia we see within the game is literally a floating rock with towers that do not seem to reach above clouds the same way the other ones did in the cutscene.
What if the first time we encounter the unknown God was in fact the true Celestia, the true "Heaven".
As for the thing we see in the sky to be only a floating prison for the ones who think they can ascend godhood (as said before) or simply a diversion for the true Celestia to see how many would want to betray the divinity to gain their freedom.
If we go with the theory about the twins being the astral beings sent by the true god to save the world that has been corrupted by the fake god, that's why they could penetrate through the real Celestia, therefore meeting the unknown God.
As for the floating Celestia we see in Vanessa's ascending it's nothing but a tower filled with "cells". From the manga panels we've perhaps seen.
I don't believe that the supreme gods of that world are looking to reward anyone with power.
Not even the Archons.
After all Zhongli was as an Earth Dragon, Venti was an elemental spirit, don't know much about what the other Archons were before ascending.
But Zhongli has fought other Gods for supremacy, Venti has assisted the rebellion against Dacarabian (my apologies if I misspelled) so of course anyone that would show a kind of rebellion or determination for a change would be targeted by Celestia.
The visions we all know are simply but a spy device for Celestia to see the development of the ones that are determined for a change in the course of "normality" whether it's within basic nature.
Just because they give some power doesn't mean they're truly meant for that purpose.
As for Vanessa, one that didn't possess a vision I'm only assuming that the Celestials already took notice of her and knew what was she capable of even as a mere mortal, left alone granting her the power of a vision.
Also a question-
How did the Sustainer of Heavenly Principles knew about our journey?
Wasn't she supposed to be the god of this world only? As for we traveled through countless? Was she aware of us before? Was she noticed by the other Gods within the other worlds?
Perhaps our main role within the game is to be the ones that free the worlds from the fake Gods? Dunno.
Thank you for reading my paragraphs. 😄
Oh my Lord yet another idea crossed my mind today . Thankfully I will make it shorter this time unlike following above haha.
I was wondering if Paimon could be the fragment of the true god of this world.
Just the same like Azhdaha did with Kun Jun in some sorts.(was that his name?)
And Paimon doesn't remember about her godhood .
Perhaps the true Celestia which I believe it's the good place in this context, was ruled by the True God. And perhaps something happened and it got corrupted. Dunno
June 12th.
So... hi hello again haha.
So I've seen a theory saying that maybe the unknown God kept the twins in this world because she knew that they're having divine power.
Perhaps the unknown God is a victim of Celestia's ruling as well. And she "pretended" to punish the twins by trapping them within that world.
(This kinda continues my other theory which says that the twins are going from world to world to end the Fake Gods and their ruling.)
We don't even know how the Mc's sibling escaped from the Unknown God grasp once we got cubed away.
Nor how did we escaped from the trap.
Maybe the Unknown God preserved us in some space until our awakening, away from the Celestia's sight (so they won't try to destroy us while we're vulnerable) so she can slowly build her plan against them without being suspected of betrayal.
And of course the U.G couldn't befriend us or become our ally.
She had to follow whatever laws Celestia was implying, else perhaps she could be destroyed or with her betrayal, more others to suffer alongside her.
U are correct

i wonder if venti would also not tell us of khanreia like Zhongli didn't...
unless you make venti drunk of course
I mean Zhongli openly stated that the only reason he can't tell us about Khanreia is cuase a contract prevents him from speaking about that subject, Venti being the god of freedom would probably avoid the subject but I don't think that anything would truly be stopping him from telling us.

@@beashemmad.sayson545 well we have been killing her agents non stop, and also been a hindrance in her plans.
Celestial beings are all akin to gods, that includes even Venessa. Any lifeform really, elemental or not, can attain the status of godhood. However archons are the gods of gods, somewhere higher up in the celestial hierarchy.
It has been quite evident that all gods will stop at nothing to achieve the true meaning of their divine ideal in it's rightful form. For Barbatos, that is Freedom, for Zhongli, that is a true contract that can never be broken without penalty, and for Baal, that is Eternity.
Since we do not yet know the *new* divine ideal of the Tsaritsa after the great cataclysm of Khaenri'ah 500 years ago, it'll be interesting to learn what motivated the cryo archon to move to such an extent as steal the gnosi of her fellow archons by any means necessary, even going so far as to threaten their own divine ideals.
Remember, the archons very much do have human emotions, like empathy and sympathy, but for them, and probably most celestial beings, nothing can ever outvalue their divine ideal. Something that they will uphold to the end of their times. It's akin to their identity itself after all
EDIT: Since a lot of people keep stating the obvious of how the Tsaritsa is trying to destroy Celestia, I'd like to clear up one thing.
We do not know the real name or divine ideal of the cryo archon. And she is the only archon that we don't know these things of. Her divine ideal was said to have changed after the great cataclysm which lead her on her political rampage and conquest against Celestia and the order of the 7. That is what makes her special. So far she is the only Celestial being that we know has *changed* their ideal.
Idk but after researching on someone vid i know the tsaritsa truth plan is stopping other archon from celestia by stealing their gnosis
The tsaritsa is the goddess of love
Lucas D manectric still a theory
@@beashemmad.sayson545 oh ok 👍
The Tsaritsa is planning to destroy Celestia as she knows the "truth" like how Dainsleif said in the Travail Chapter Storyline Preview. With all the gnosis, she will become the most powerful archon. But what is the use of brute force if you cannot show a single blade of mercy?
In the english or japanese voicelines, Venti calls Zhongli a block head or a dumb "old friend", but in the chinese voicelines, Venti calls Zhongli "A dead brain who can't understand human feelings". And thats how came Guizhong. His comfort.
Archons attain humanity. But not if it comes with their ideals at hand. And the reason for Tsaritsa to destroy Celestia, well all I know is Scaramouche knows why ehe.
If you take constructive criticism, I would like to point out some error with your fourth point. You say that "despite witnessing Azhdaha's goodwill", I would like to argue that the people of Liyue at the time of Azhdaha's erosion, had never witnessed anything like it because when humanity began to exploit the ley lines for their own gain, the Archon War had ended for 1000 years already. No human can live for that long, so the only witnesses remaining would likely be the adepti. Furthermore, you said that instead of "helping Azhdaha", Zhongli sealed him away, while canonically, Zhongli had "shared some of his power [to Azhdaha], to prevent further erosion".
There is also a mischaracterization with your words of "nothing is greater for him than a contract", while through his actions, yes, this may be the case, but I *think* that it may be something deeper rooted from reading the Archaic Petra's "Mask of Solitude Basalt", where it is implied that Zhongli's crueller actions such as during the Archon War, where he showed "no mercy" were "necessary" and it may have something to do with godhood rather than just Zhongli being stubborn. My headcanon is that if he allows for any loopholes in his contracts, the Unknown God would come down from Celestia and punt him into the sun, OR , that allowing for anything to slide in his contracts would be denying his entire "purpose" to be alive and walking. It seems like the most important thing to him, after all, he did willingly give away his gnosis, but still, he remains the God of Contacts. I feel that this may mean that while gnoses belong to Celestia, divine ideals belong to the god themselves.
If I may have an opinion for a moment, I find it slightly painful to my heart to read your fourth point in particular. While I do believe that Zhongli has his flaws, the whole point of his story quests is to show that he is kind and not cruel without reason. However I do understand the reason for thinking opposite with the mistranslations from cn>en, the different portrayals of cn dub Zhongli and en dub Zhongli and even jp dub Zhongli and how it butchers his character pretty badly, and that a lot of his lore is hidden in books or artifacts so it may be hard to collect all fragments to understand.
I feel that there is also a slight vagueness in your statement of why Barbatos left Mondstadt for the sake of freedom. But, because it's more on the vague side, I feel like the nuances of your wording may come off that he left Mondstadt to drink wine and sleep and shirk his duties. When he left because he was "unwilling to become a tyrant". But, if this was not what you meant, then please unread this paragraph.
(EDIT: I misworded and it butchered my sentence u_u)
This is a good point, thank you for bringing it up.
HOW ARE U PEOPLE SO SMART DO YOU WORK FOR THE CIA TO DECIPHER CODES OR SMTH??
@@reothomas7624 nah they got a phD in Genshin lore
I might add that Zhongli also feels emotion but kept his tough as a rock demeanour (pun intended) due to his duty as a god. Azhdaha's line "even a heart of rock is still a heart nonetheless" confirms that Zhongli do feels regret and sadness sealing his long time companion away. The Chinese voiceline has much more meaning and sadder than the English translation :")
@@pickleaaa1 understandable.
As much as I love Zhongli (He was the character that made me play the game in the first place), I always felt unnerved by his unwavering stance to his duty, and it was proved in the story quest where he refused to break his contracts at any cost. While most people excuse it or glance over it, you pointed it out!! Yes he's a well written character, one of the best, but the way the game brings out realistic characterizations is always great, even with Childe and Ningguang being morally grey characters!
Edit: y'all pls I never meant that I would've liked him to break his contract, he's the god of contracts for a reason, but there's always loopholes right? Cause I was a bit mad that we didn't get any info about Khaenri'ah from a major source who was supposedly involved somehow, just a thought (⇀‸↼‶)
I love how his (and many other's) character isn't just grouped into "good" or "bad"
Zhongli scares the crap out of me. My girlfriend said “I have the God of Anemo, you have the God of Geo”
I go, “can we switch? Zhongli terrifies me”
I was hyped up when I saw him for the first time
When i knew zhongli i started simping for him and searched him so i downloaded the game too :"D
I see, that's why Venti called him blockhead while I find him humorous some times
"Even boulders that can withstand whirlpools will erode with the passing of time. I kept convincing myself that cracks had not begun to form and that the end of my time had not yet come."-Zhongli explaining why he gave his gnosis to Signora
Hearing this explains so much about Zhongli's intentions
Now you mention that, Gods also have dark sides... I wonder if Zhongli and Venti fight us because of Celestia's orders and stuff..
Or tsaritsa wanted the gnosis to stop other archon being manipulated by celestia
No they aee not arcon any more
Nah Venti hates Celestia
@@SamuelSunaring just because venti hate celestia, doesn't mean he wouldn't follow their order. The same as if you hate your boss for being so cruel, you still need to obey them for your own good.
They almost definitely would, especially if Celestia begins to hold their position as archon, their own lives, the lives of their people/country or their divine ideals as a form of blackmail
the gods being so attached to their jobs kind of scares me in a way. i cant explain it but venti leaving aristocrats to kind of hurt mondstadt just because if he interferes it wouldn't be "freedom" and zhongli ignoring everything once contracts are upheld, even suffering and lives...
especially zhongli cause if we make 1 wrong contract it could all go downhill. the end of this storyline becomes scarier with each new lore video
Venti was asleep during those days.
@@Someone-zs5xr indeed, the video is full of misinterpretation.
@Olivia I believe dainsleif had a line where he said something that goes the lines of "when the day of her rebellion against the divine comes at last" I feel like in this line the cryo archon wants change and wants to fight celestia gods to attain true peace while not worriying about contracts abt them and such that if they broke the agreement maybe they will die. Hence she wants all the gnosis to maybe have enough power to match their creators? Just a theory tho.
Zhongli: "If you do not abide in the contract, then you will face the wrath of the rock."
Venti: "This drink is so great! I say that everyone in Mondastadt must drink this facinating drink!"
The God of Pyro: "The victor shall burn bright while the loser shall turn to ash."
The Followers of The God of Cryo: "We only wish to be on her side when the war against the divine comes atlast."
The God of Dendro: "The God of Wisdom enemy is wisdom itself."
The God of Hydro: "She will have the power to judge all other gods but even 'she' knows to not make an enemy of the divine."
Just to clarify Archon is the 7 seat given to the winner of the archon war with many gods trying to destroy each other and archon seat can be change with 2 of the last original archon being Venti and Zhongli. Another tidbit i like about Zhongli fact is that he isn't that smart, and probably just start recollecting everything just to open "memories of dust" as Guizhong said that Zhongli is the brawn while she is the brain
Yea pretty much a gods battle royale
Ngl, I got kinda pissed off when it was kinda implied that venti let his peeps suffer because he didn't wanna take the aristocrats freedom away. And for zhongli, how he didn't tell us about kharienah depsite it being so important to us and him being the God of contracts. This is probably what Dainsleif meant when he says to be friendly but also on your guard
I wonder how the god of justice would act.

3:26 that's how storytelling is supposed to work
And?..
@@criztorm4117 it means it is false to conclude that only Zhongli's lines are true. The backbone of the story still holds water, the way how it was delivered and the choice of words are the only exaggerations.
2:36 "No. Not even anything is greater than the freedom of Mondstadt."
"Justice. No matter how you've suffered, you're still getting arrested for doing that."
Wait I just realized that, does that mean that the tsaritza is now the geo, anemo and cryo archon?
Now that you mention it.. its safe to say so probably.. since the archon's name is held to whoever hold the gnosis.. like how Zhongli is no longer geo archon after let go of his gnosis
That means that if she stole the other gnosis she would be The Archon of all elements, the one who grants all the visions, the one who can control all the elements. Crap she will be too fucking strong then
I mean there's the mc who can use all the elements without vision so...
It's inevitable

Ooh dear I smell a future boss fight
3:40 we did, in fact, see in noelle's second hangout that he exaggerates, but that doesn't mean he is lying all the time, nor that he exaggerates with words alone, saying that only zhongli is telling the truth and assuming that he didnt build the dragon just because thats what the storyteller said is a bit too much of an assumption, i may be wrong, but there is no confirmation of these facts, so one can't just assume every single word of the storyteller is a lie, exageration ≠ lies.
I agree, great point. I think so too
He is a god, that means his job is protecting his people, even tho he created azdaha, he didn't kill him I don't think he's heartless.
I agree that Zhongli is not a heartless person, just like his long sigh of suffering. He is a forbear senior.
But he didn't create Azdaha. The real part is he gave him vision and brought him to the world. Think about Noelle's trip to Liyue(v1.5), the storyteller can't be believed all words...
@@linyu9767 yeah you're right but zhongli did help azdaha by giving him eyes but it's rude how the video mentions that he doesn't care about lives, or suffering and that he has no sympathy and humanity like what do they want? For him to abandon his people because their mining brought suffering to azdaha? In his trailer he mentioned that "to cleanse the land, and to protect our safe harbour, that was the first contract in liyue", sure he responded according to the contract but that doesn't mean he doesn't care about azdhaha.
Damn, did mihoyo really did all of this fun, cool, and interesting stories. Wow.
The content is highly goooooood.
Yup, Zhongli never makes a contract in bad faith, but even if time turns the original contract lop sided it doesn't matter. A contract is a contract and will be obeyed by to the very letter it was written as regardless of it's original intent. I respect it despite how deeply unnerving it can be.
This is why I missed your videos, glad you're back and better
I knew something was off about that stone
1:50 Actually, Azhdaha himself says that he agreed to the contract to be sealed away and it was due to erosion that he forgot. So Azhdaha agreed to be sealed away to avoid harming anyone. Also, Zhongli seems quite torn up about the affair, and points to it as a reason why he himself is eroding.

The fact that the original 5 from the seven had been replaced by new archon and they are not necessary have to die to let go the archon name means probably there will be a new anemo and geo archon (if any under normal circumstances) and we can speculate ... maybe some or all 5 of the original the seven other than Venti and Zhongli is still alive
Venti still alive and there is 2 big person from 2 clan of mondstat know his identity, so im sure they will protect their god at all cost. huh, now that you mentioned how the gods act it does make sense. never did realise just how much value they place on what they represent. That's another aspect about the characters i really like though, how the way they act, their outlook, how all the little details in the writing that really bring them to life
This is a friendly reminder that even if zhongli is a benevolent being living the life of a mortal now, he used to be a severe god with the most kill count of all the archons that didn't stop at nothing even if it meant unnecessary collateral damage was to be made, not even considering his closest ones when contracts are on the table, it seems that guizhong helped him get a bit of sensitivity around his actions, but the mere point of not telling us about what happened to our twin because he's bound by a contract when he knows everything that took place is very telling of his character, or at least what he used to be before retiring.
really makes me want to replay his story quest
Woah... The following if their roles so seriously is so incredibly intresting. like they are being controlled by their jobs. Or they kind of ARE the manifestation of their jobs. They would sacrafice everything and anyone to follow their roles.
The way these archons are written is so good like, they appear and act human and stuff but hey there you go, Venti abandoning people for his ideals, Zhongli doing the same with Az. I am not expressing it right but ya there's a clear-cut difference between humans and archons, despite the latter acting very much liek humans in most cases. Really well done. And thanks for the video to help me put these htings into perspective. ;D
I am pretty sure Adzaha saying that Zhongli also help him but it kinda futile
Zhongli sealed him away with some of his power to help fight the Erosion, but after hundreds of years, even that was not enough and the darker side of Azhdaha began to take control again.
Yeah me too. Didn't he say he tried to give him some of his power to slow the erosion but by then it was too late
Point 2
Zhongli alr has a long life even b4 as an Archon, ppl forget that he is still basically the king of all adepti
Archon merely boosted his strength to beyond belief
Adepti themselves live long lives as seen with all the Adeptus we know of to date
I am glad that you noted that the storyteller's version is exaggerated and only Zhongli's version is true. Like the other commenter, I also think classifying Zhongli as cold is inaccurate, but they already made good points there. As to your first point, the term used for archon is 魔神 (demon god, loosely), and while 神 (god) is used, it's generally by their followers. Zhongli is both 魔神 of Geo (before he gave up his gnosis) and also the 魔神 of contracts. They're both his domains, and only the geo thing was tied to his gnosis, contracts is something he chose himself or is inherent (like Havria and salt, Guizhong and dust). Venti is the 魔神 of freedom, and will always be. Osial is 魔神 of Vortex. (Childe/Gongzi specifically equates them during the Golden House section by calling them both 魔神 as he's mocking Zhongli.)
That’s why, he is the hardest boss because it made by the hardest shield
I knew the thing on the thumbnail, wowowowoooo.
So the gods have an ego? That's something. Zhongli didn't care about Azdhaha when he suffered, Zhongli just locked him away because he would break the contract.
It appears only archons have an ego while regular gods do have it and don't.
Azhdaha already broked the contract when he was about to seal him and Zhongli did care for Azhdaha. But for The God of contracts himself, Contracts comes FIRST
Didn't he tried to help az
He used his power to do something with the corrosion but it is futile, since its a natural order
Actually, Azdhaha was willingly sealed away as to not hurt people.
u do be twisting everything
It's not that he didn't care, Zhongli likely couldn't move for he is the god of contracts, and the people of Liyue had the right to mine in the chasm due to a previous contract. He likely didn't forsee this situation and when it began to happen, things were already unintentionally set in stone so that he couldn't stop them.
Zhongli, like Venti, and probably like most of the archons, loves his fellow Celestial beings, be it a friend like Azhdaha, the Yakshas that he doomed to eternal tourment or even the overlord Osial that he sealed away for all of eternity. They do not despise each other, it's just that things unfortunately have come to be this way through a series of events.
Barbatos was also an elemental being before becoming an archon, while Morax was an Adepti and Vanessa was a human before ascending, which means there is no need to be a human to be able to go to Celestia, the only requirement is to have a vision (or, in Chinese, to be a Genshin).
yes thank you, finally someone said out loud that no gnosis =/= no god powers
and yes, there indeed is volcano in natlan, i remember rreading about it somewhere
Now that you mention it... I can't wait to see other gods who are not part of The Seven and who knows they are possibly playable characters.
We've already seen 2: Andrius and Osial.
If we're talking about gods that are only mentioned, then there're Decarabian, Harvia, Guizhong. All of them are dead though.
Though it said that the evil gods who refused to follow the Seven's rule have retreated to the dark corner of the world, so we may very well have the chance to see more of them in the future.
If that's true, then we will never go to inazuma unless we meet beidou
I really like the facts about the difference of being a god and being an archon.
It's an interesting topic to look into if you want to create a Story about being an almighty being.
THE OST SLAPS
ive read people talking about kaenri'ah and zhongli here, but i believe that he was one of the gods that destoyed it. idk just a thought. and maybe he signed a contract about it with someone or maybe other gods so that they may not speak of it ever again.
Just imagine at the end of the game, celsetia fully falls down and we have like an epic war or somethin
Very interesting
"To cleanse the land and DEFEND our safe harbor - that was the first contract in liyue."
We don't actually know how many contracts he has in hand, the first contract clashed with this contract with Azhdaha so I believe he didnt lack empathy for azhdaha, and I believe too that the 'last contract' has to do with this problem with many contracts clashing with each other (Although I believe it is so only as a secondary thing, 'cause I think this contract has to do with the 'false sky' and whatnot)
The thing about the quest is that we ask zhongli about our sibling and he says:
“I have signed a contract and I can’t tell” something like that..
But that has got my suspicion up far enough zhongli is the oldest archon i have heard that somekind of monster has started attacking teyvat its was long ago like almost before old modstatd while venti was an element
I think the way lumine was saying “you will see it the end of your journey “ or aether
So maybe not old modstatd but teyvat has two universes our lost sibling had woke first so she saw the destruction of the monsters the creator of the monsters might have signed a contract with zhongli
Zhongli's theme is dope af
For one i believe you glossed over Azhdaha, had a good side and a bad side the Good side being Azhdaha's love for the people and his times spent with them and his loyalty to Rex Lapis, Rex lapis does care for the people he said he fought tooth and nail to subdue Azhdaha and Azhdaha either Asked or agreed to be sealed away in a moment of clarity. Meaning poor Azhdaha had lost his mind literally, which is more like the stones his good side talked to so we could find the workers. The remember something that had a deep emotion attached to it or the most recent events, for Azhdaha was like the stones themselves and he forgot which lead to him attacking the people. And lead to Rex lapis sealing his dearest friend, and even Rex lapis himself said that Mooncarver was the one that placed the stone calling him an evil dragon whereas Rex lapis himself didn't.
I can’t imagine how fun it would be to record the screaming of Evil Azhdaha, like I would have so much fun telling things like “YOU OVERSTEP YOUR MORTTAL AUTHORITY”
Another thing you missed azhdaha is a frog in genshin but in the iranian mythology azhdaha is a snek 🐍
My theory for end game is that: The fatui, having almost 2(or more) gnosis from gods, will start taking over. Aether or lumine (Whichever u pick) will save the other sibling and they will have to fight, so another thing is that the sibling will take part in the fight with us, maybe in co-op perhaps, or maybe, an AI.. or like the last archon quest, our sibling will give us power ups in order to defeat the fatui, when I mean fatui, I mean lots of fatui, like a war kind of. And we get the help of venti, zhongli and all of the other gods that we may come upon, and they will use their last bits of strength to help us defeat the fatui, another theory is kind of the same as the last, but maybe the Tsaritsa is the unknown god or maybe not even related to the fatui, but they are in partnership and the final boss is the Tsaritsa.
So my 3rd and last theory is that paimon is the unknown god, and is working against us. Most likely, some of the fatui harbingers like signora or Childe or any other, will be helping us, along with the Venti and Zhongli and any other god we met, just like the first theory they will use their last bits of strength to help us, the treasure hoarders will also help us since we have brought them treasure along with some people we met on our main storyline. If we defeat the unknown god, who knows.. paimon might fall to the ground and we will have a chance to join evil or if we choose to stay good. In this case, suppose we pick to stay good, paimon will dissapear like any other NPC dying. And slowly but surely, we become an archon of some sort, or even become someone that’s better than all the celestia gods, even better, once we finish it, we will have a trip to celestia and then we have to fight all the gods to become the best god.
Those are just my THEORIES, they are not really confirmed because I have no idea about anything that is happening after this except the ludi harpasdum events.
Something I read at some point, Venti, Zhongli, Sumeru’s archon (???) are all against Celestial’s rule...idk about this tho
Awesome
Can't say I agree with the assessment of Morax based on how he treated Azhdaha. Azhdaha definitely suffered because of humanity's exploitation of minerals, but the suffering mostly was not direct physical pain, but pain caused by the 'erosion' of the earth through said exploitation. In essence it was the erosion of his memories and his fear of further erosion that caused him to fly into a rampage against the mining operation in the Chasm. He saw no sense in his contract and broke it because he was beginning to forget who he was and what Morax and humanity meant to him.
It's very similar to what happened with the Yakshas, except instead of a dark power intruding into their souls it was Azhdaha's gratitude and good will fading from his. It was more or less inevitable, and for Morax to help or ignore him wouldn't save him from this fate. Even if the Chasm was left for him to dwell and protect, natural erosion would have the same effect in time. It was better for everyone for Morax to subdue him and seal him away, including himself. He was unavoidably becoming less and less himself and more something that he would have detested and fought against by Morax's side. Which, through Kun Jun, "he" does fight "himself."
Azhdaha is another very tragic character, like Havria, or the woman who was forced to realize the actual circumstances of her demise, or the unnamed bardic hero of Old Mondstadt whom Barbatos took the form of, or Stanley. We should expect many more like them, because that is miHoYo's style.
we only have 2 current cities and archons and the game already has this mush lore put into it. i hope mihoyo can keep up with the lore stuff cuz its AMAZING!!!
i hope we see more dragons in the future, they are just so badass
who would have thought that these gods are stone cold hearted until someone disobeys their prophecy
Considering that Zhongli's character material concerning his past emphasizes his brutal ways in the past... I can't help but wonder why didn't he just kill Azhdaha, I mean, he had the best excuse.
Then I remembered those theories about Azhdaha being one of the original Dragon Sovereigns, the ones that ruled over before the Primordial One came over Teyvat, and man... what if Zhongli just can't kill something older/more powerful than him? I mean, if the theory is true, then Azhdaha is the remains of an all-powerful elemental being that preceded his region's archon. It makes me wonder about what else is Zhongli hiding.
They were gods before they were archons. The archons are just chosen from the many gods of Teyvat.
For example the seat of the anemo archon was held by Decarabian until his death, and after that, it was a choice between Andrius and Barbatos. Andrius declined to be the Archon, so the duty was assigned to Barbatos.
What does freedom really mean... when demanded of you by a god?
Venti is the real mystery here for me
His theme
I think venti is still considered an archon who gave his people the freedom to rule their nation however they want being the god of freedom. Zhongli retired from the position of archon so we may say that liyue has no archon or god now. I don't the gnosis decides whether they are archon or not. The god who watches over a particular nation is the archon of that nation and their will decides whether they want to stay as an archon or not like zhongli. If gnosis was the case then tsarista would've marked liyue and mondstadt as her territory being the current geo and anemo archon but that did not happen. Jst my thoughts.
Nice vid, I love the hidden/less-noticed details in the stories. Keep up the good work.
And about venti nothelping his people when the aristocrats ruled, I think he was asleep at that time and when he woke up he realized what was going on that was not the old mondstadt and helped venessa in making his people free by overthrowing the aristocracy. I think that's what happened acc to the manga.
And I think Zhongli is not as cruel as it is shown. Yes, he's strict about his contracts, but not cruel. Remember Zhongli's first story quest? The fatui and the other girl both broke the contract, but he did punish them rationally. Even tho that girl was being rude and stubborn he punished her by telling the truth, and that was rational to clear her misconceptions and stop her from avoiding the truth. And in the second story quest, all he did was for his people, he can't just sacrifice his people for the sake of his one friend. The good part of azhdaha still loved him, showing that his decision was the best thing he can do as an archon.
I'm not justifying their actions. Yes, I too agree that the archons have a dark side but I don't agree that the things we know till now are included in the dark part. I think the dark part and past are yet to be seen.
yayy
Ah , the zhongli living forever / longer thing always hits hard for me.. 🗿
My theory is that i think in chasm might get a quest on how to reduce or make azhdaha suffering ends
Venti did want to get rid of the aristocrats immediately he found out about their tyranny but he was asleep for centuries.
uhh i think there is a misunderstanding.....but if im not mistaken venti didnt interfere with the aristocracy because he was in a deep slumber at that time and after he wakes up he helps venessa (i think thats how the name is spell) to over throw the aristocracy
Can't wait for the Rex Lapis and Barbatos boss fight
dang that storyteller good
Zhongli as the God of Contracts is very strict, we all know that. But comparing Morax we hear about from the past and him now is a huge difference. He learned how to feel compassionate to others and I'm sure he regrets some of his contracts (or at least the conditions), like the one he signed to stay silent about khaeri'ah or having to imprison Azdaha when he was feeling pain. However, I like how he follows the agreements and don't try to find loopholes to benefit him or others. A contract is a contract and it should be respected both ways, this mindset doesn't make him less empathetic or caring. The story itself shows how much he cares.
Hey, question. If Zhongli is no longer the Geo Archon... that means someone else can become the Geo Archon anytime? Or there must be an event occurring to pick the new Geo Archon?
I did not notice only the last fact about that story teller's over exaggerating the story and so the part of the story where only Zhongli speaks is true. Rest of them were pretty easy to understand from in game story
