Yep, it's canonical, right after Shadow
Core design and Eidos weren't trying to be woke, they wanted Lara to be an extraordinary female character. The classic Tomb Raider games didn't start out trying to have a message. They wanted you to get involved in the character and the gameplay and the world, and I think that's still the heart of Tomb Raider. You don't have to exclude agendas, but you have to first create characters who you sympathize with and who are compelling. I think Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics need to do a course correction a bit in terms of putting the message secondary, behind entertainment and compelling story and engaging characters. People play games to scape reality.
Please, be the real end of origin story. Please. 👏

Mi sono piaciute le serie tv Fallout e Knuckles. Come ho detto quest' anno ci sono ancora da vedere Tomb Raider The Legend of Lara Croft, Devil May Cry, Borderlands, Arcane s2 e Sonic 3 per poi passare al 2025 con per il momento The Last of Us s2, Minecraft live action, Mortal Kombat 2 e Five Nights At Freddy's 2 e al 2026 con per il momento il nuovo film di Super Mario Bros.
Le serie animate basate sui videogiochi fatte da Netflix finora mi sono piaciute tutte. Questo anime Tomb Raider The Legend of Lara Croft mi ispira.
Per il resto ci si vede su Netflix il 10 ottobre 2024.

In the OG @TombRaider games she’s supposed to be a femme fatale, an archaeologist, a grave robber, who lives for the thrill of adventure, only plays for sport, is sassy, strong, resilient, witty, clever, athletic, attractive, book smart, specialist in weapon wielding, hand to hand combat, and enjoys the silence of isolated, abandoned, and forgotten places on earth. Lara loves the different cultures she encounters, and is a big nerd when it comes to mythology and religions. What’s wrong with an affirmative and strong female character? What’s wrong with a power fantasy?
Characters are never the same. As cool as OG was, she severely lacked personality. The problem with the 2013 reboot was that she also lacked personality. She was perfect during the legend era honestly. It was a mix between the two
@@AdrianGarcia-qd1hs you can still have the OG Lara and just add more “personality” as you say. You don’t see characters like Mario, Crash, Kratos, etc… creating a completely different character in personality and appearance and just slapping the name of the franchise on it to get credit for something they’re trying to destroy from the ground up is mediocre and disrespectful; specially when taking every chance they get to speak ill of Lara’s old adventures and looks. This new cosplay interpretations is not a bad character, and their story are not bad, she’d make a great character in her own game, with the own backstory, etc
She’s just not Lara Croft, and unfortunately if they keep that ridiculous plot of the protector of relics; they should just drop the name of the franchise and name it something else like Truth Seeker or whatever. #13NOT!HER

funny you mentioned kratos. crash and mario are literal children characters. there's nothing interesting about them. the games are fun but the characters themselves weren't made to tell deep stories or anything. they only serve to make good games. that's fine.
kratos was changed at his absolute. the games changed, kratos humself changed so much that he's not even the same person from the original games.

instead of making the reboot Lara into an anime series. It would have made more sense if Tomb Raider 1 from 1996 had been made into a film. I think it would be a big highlight if Lara Croft's Scion adventure with Larson, Pierre, Natla, Kold and Kid were brought to the big screen. And I have another idea. Please don't try to keep the franchise alive with reboots. Instead, take your cues from the SAW franchise. With SAW X, a parallel story was invented that takes place between SAW 1 and SAW 2. You could do the same with Tomb Raider. For example, you could add another story that takes place between Tomb Raider 3 from 1998 and Tomb Raider 4 from 1999. 😀
