This was really a fantastic direct. no 'bring the house down bangers' BUT a really solid lineup of game to end the system's life with. no complaints here
To end the systems life? 😮 I haven’t been very in tune with Nintendo, are we getting a new system like 2 years after OLED?
Nintendo already confirmed theres a new system they wouldnt cover in this direct. So most likely it's either coming out this holiday season or sometime next year.

From what my partner said, the Metroid Prime 4 character with the vertical slit helmet is from the Hunters game. He's more excited about it now. I'm mostly waiting on more news for Pokemon Legends AZ
That's right. He was a Space Pirate that ended up becoming a hunter iirc and ay the end of Prime 3 (2007!) his ship appeared briefly in a post credits cutscene
Yeah. Sylux. He steals some Metroids at the end of the game, which seems to appear in this game. Perhaps a direct sequel?

I saw the text of "Year 20X9", and instantly my adrenaline kicked into another gear. I have waited for Prime 4, and we finally get to see it. It looks so good, too!
Same i went through the roof when i saw that year, and then federation, and then even more when i saw the footage and finally when title was shown.
@@cocolanfofolan2508 I know way too much about Metroid (I have every single scan log from the Prime Trilogy memorized, I am that obsessed), so I saw the font and immediately knew it was Prime 4.

I hope the beginning of Echoes of Wisdom lets you control Link at the beginning. Full Hearts fight the Ganon Battle, then you free Zelda and then you control her.

I'm assuming Metroid Prime 4 Beyond will be for the Nintendo Switch and there's a chance it's also potentially for the new (yet to be announced) Nintendo system too.

Easily the highlight for me is the Marvel Vs. Capcom Collection. The MVC series is one of my favorite IP's ever, so getting all of the classic games on the Switch is excellent for me. The Direct was indeed a banger.
I suspect that the metroid 4 trailer was filmed through the switch 2 due to how crisp the visuals and graphics feel

Honestly doesn't look that much better than prime remaster. Amount of active characters would be the real challenge for the switch

That marvel vs capcom bundle is actually insane. People have been trying to get MvC2 on a system since the limited ps3 release. It’s such a big deal. Love it

Crazy that they announced metroid prime 4 the same year the switch launched and now it'll likely be a launch title for the switch successor 😅
I mean its not that crazy basically the same thing happened with BotW and Metroid as a series is kinda notorious at this point for being delayed and development hell
The only reason they didn't give us the exact date for Metroid Prime 4 is because it will be released with the Switch 2.

Honestly thought we would've gotten all the Metroid Prime games remastered before 4 came out.
They usually have another showcase in September so maybe will get a few more games for Switch before the calendar rolls over to 2025

So, a game where you play Zelda, a Mario and Luigi game, and some dragon quest remakes. I didn't get exactly what I wanted to see, but got pleasantly surprised by things I wasn't expecting.
I am excited for ace attorney investigations collection because it has a game that has been a Japan exclusive and never came out anywhere else

It hits different when the people around you are muttering under their breath. Twice as much when you're in whatever cramped space you could find on the submarine you all serve on. What I like about Austin is he is relatable. As soon as I heard the noises of the typing in the Prime 4 trailer, I immediately jumped for joy when I saw Samus

It's not my usual style of game - I love farming sims, but not so much combat sims - but I love Mashima's art and I'm sure it's going to have touches of his storytelling throughout the game. I'm very much hyped to play it, although man... it coming on 11/1 is going to make it to where we have to try and pay off three pre-order games, with two of them coming out around the same time. My wallet is going to cry. XD
When I first saw the map to echoes of wisdom, I thought it was a remake of A Link to the past. For some reason the map looked very similar to that
lol it’s basically a copied and pasted world from Links Awakening….for Zelda to finally get her first game, it’s so lazy they couldn’t try to go with an original look….
Got the Dragon Quest HD-2D I was hoping for, I'm happy!
Lots of other amazing stuff too, especially the new Mario/Luigi & Zelda titles! The Link's Awakening style is an interesting choice for Zelda but I don't hate it.

"Felicidad" means "Happiness" in spanish. The spanish equivalent of "Merry Christmas" is "Feliz Navidad" which literally means "Happy Christmas" =)
The new Zelda game I think is nintendo realizing how fun the "do it your way" there last two games were and so they want to keep on that formula

There's some good stuff here, but I'm most excited about Super Mario Party Jamboree, and second most excited for Tales of the Shire.
Echoes of wisdom reminds me of what BoTW concept would look on a top down view game. So we'll be able to tackle dungeons and situation anyway we want now.
Love the speed run games game, also love how Nintendo switch sports is just getting a new sport added as an update

@@alp6502 Nintendo switch online it's the online subscription there's also NSO+ which is a more expensive version but you get access to more games and other things on top of what regular NSO costs

After this direct they have a bunch of games coming out late this year / next year. I think we'll see Switch Successor announced early next year and in line for holidays 2025 personally... 🤷🏼♀️
This direct brought it for me. I thought both the Mario and Luigi series and Marvel vs Capcom were dead. As well as Prime 4 gameplay finally visible. Seriously I was about to graduate high school when they first announced it

Im guessing they're gonna wait until next year to release MP4 because of the possibility of a new switch release. It'll likely be around christmas to hype it up to boost sales on both items

There's really no naysaying it any more. We're not getting a Switch 2 in the spring, we're not getting it in the summer, we may not even see it in the fall. I would bet the Switch Successor hits Holiday 25, and yeah, it'll probably get a Metroid Prime 4 port, in the same vein as Twilight Princess GC/Wii or BotW Wii U / Switch.

I honestly don't care if companies take longer to release games. I prefer that to it being slop.
Just some speculation on my part as to why they re-made Luigi's Mansion 2 HD and DKC Returns HD-
Nintendo already has opened up Super Nintendo World in California and Japan, and next year Universal is making a brand new theme park 'Epic Universe' in Orlando which will have a full Super Nintendo World with a Mario and DK area. They'll probably have the DK game out before theme park opens and the theme park will have a mini-Nintendo shop, therefore it can just sit there and just sell copies. And supposedly, due to filings people can see with Florida's laws that require most things to be public- Universal and Nintendo want to make a ride based on Luigi's Mansion in an expanded area of the new theme park, so that's another way to promote/sell the game and vice versa the park.
Also, I may read the 'supposed leaks' but I think most of them have been fully irrelevant at this point. Everyone was like 'oh, Nintendo's got nothing left in the tank, expect nothing but ports' or were laughably bad/not true that I'm just gonna look at it and go 'uh huh, sure'. This was an incredibly solid Direct with lots of good new first party titles and third party titles to back it up.
