This is a real Westjet Steward doing a real safety demonstration. He had the entire plane in stitches! What a great way to make us pay attention! Way to go Westjet!
I fly Westjet all the time. I adore these guys. Their flight attendants are friendly and awesome. Once, we were delayed from taking off pretty long. They brought out some rolls of toilet paper and made a game of us passing them over our heads then wrapping them back up and passing them forward as fast as we could. Silly? Childish? Absolutely. But we were smiling instead of grumping about a delayed flight, and after, we ended up talking amongst ourselves and meeting each other. Was pretty awesome.

this guy is hilarious! i heard about this guy from a FB group that i'm with (which is Gargoyles Reawakening) and he is a huge fan of the series (yes the 1994 cartoon) he's also in charge of Two Gargoyles Comics
Westjet the best! On united I had coffee spilled all over me and a burrito thrown at me by the flight attendant! How rude! Lol don't fly with United! Choose Westjet! :)

Unprofessional is when is informed with a very boring speech and bored faced stewards which do not want to make you concentrate and take this information in if an emergency occurs. However, if it is done like seen in the video, passengers are more concentrated on this due to a more entertained content and facial expressions made by the steward.
Miks Zvirbulis Exactly. It's like with teachers. Everyone remembers the lessons with the funny interresting teachers. but no one remembers the boring old teacher that made you fall asleep

They learned that it keeps peoples attention longer, and they are more likely to remember in case of an emergency because it will stand out in their minds. All West-Jet flights I have been on have used either funny displays like this or puns and jokes in the announcement itself.
