HELLDIVERS™ 2 is a 3rd person squad-based shooter that sees the elite forces of the Helldivers battling to win an intergalactic struggle to rid the galaxy of the rising alien threats. From a 3rd person perspective, players use a variety of weapons (pistols, machine guns, flamethrowers) and stratagems (turrets, airstrikes, etc.) to shoot and kill the alien threats. Players can also aim down the sights for a more accurate 1st person camera view. Combat is accompanied by frequent sprays of blood and dismemberment as players exterminate the alien forces or players and squad mates are hit by environmental explosions or friendly fire. Enemy encampments and battlefield environments depict bloodstains and dismembered corpses.

It's strange that everyone thought they had the Meta figured out after 4 weeks but that the developers intend the game to be more than just that. And many people are angry about it? It has regular updates planned, Mechs are coming, and the game is 5-10 times bigger than expected. All the goofy fun and funny stuff left in seems like a design choice along with the team play aspect with different players having different roles on the team. Also can you imagine a real Special Operations squad posting a stream of this...like a scout, a fireteam, and overwatch. You know real tactics😮. And third the game is called helldivers not diver. That and the OG game had 12 difficulty levels so if it's too hard solo the difficulty can be turned down.

I love me some autocannon action! Haven't watched the whole stream yet but to take down the legally distinct AT-STs with the AC aim at the crotch just under the shield for a 1 shot kill
They should add some crazy melee weapons like a sword made from an Automaton arm blade
Try to look at the guides - what types of beetles and robots attract support and try increase the priorities of their destruction
Catch radar station asap is a good idea too - good map is newer bad
I feel the Meteor shower needs toned down a bit 🥵

I’ve seen really coordinated teams play this game and it looks awesome. I’ve seen others play this game, and it looks like chimps running around a forest together. No ability to coordinate or share intentions.
They are called meteorites if they hit a planet surface.

Excuse me? This is a massive L. Nerfs the only two viable weapons and doesn’t buff anything enough to replace them. It’s all good, now we can spend 30 seconds chucking fire at 1 charger and pretend like the game got more fun.

Maybe they made it so much harder to introduce mechs...like new tech is required to save super earth. They're building narratives.
I’m worried they will keep nerfing primary weapons just to sell us the solution in the war bond. Success changes people. Instead all primary weapons should be viable to kill light to medium armor enemies. We can only lean on stratagems for so long in multiple bug breaches and bot drops.

@@Dorm_ but they literally just did it... like yesterday. They nerfed a bunch of stuff and then a day later announced new stuff. I'm sure the intention wasn't to be sleazy and it came from a balancing point of view but it HAS happened and can happen again. If the new meta ends up being guns from the new war bond I will be a bit skeptical. Then do I have to worry about guns I specifically paid for getting nerfed? Man arrow head has some very critical decisions to make in the upcoming weeks. I hope it all works out.
Good luck doing solo now since the update. You could do it with good patrol avoidance, the railgun and such. But now its near impossible. Near.... some chad is def going to do the defend area against 500.
So you are telling me you could only solo this game with the railgun combo? Jesus christ i play 80% of the time solo since launch and never liked the railgun adn i have no issues. Stop following the youtube trend and learn how to play the game. Want me to invite you to my squad so i can teach you how to play?
@onlineghost9813 Wow, what limp hostility. I don't need to prove anything to the likes of you. I unlocked the railgun circa 10-15 hours into the game, having bought HD2 day 1. It was clear that its ability to penetrate as a solo operator clearly outshone the other support weapons. You don't get that versatility with the auto cannon, spear etc. As a solo player it was a no brainer to pick alongside the guard rover. You essentially became a 2 in 1 helldiver.
Anyway, I've little interest in playing with you. You see when you're blowing loads in a chick with a kid. You don't want to lead her on too heavily by playing with her children. It's not fair on the little ones. Go kick rocks, kiddo.

Series question for post patch supporters, are you guys ACTUALLY happy with the state of the game post patch after a few days to let it settle? And if so can you provide links to you clearing difficulties 9 efficiently? I feel like the supporters haven't actually provided evidence the game is fine. But if it exists I would like to learn from it so I can enjoy the game again lol. The game went from "pretty fun, challenging and manageable" if you play right to "super smash brother with all items and hazards turned on."

Other weapon is viable, it just need the learning curve and strategy to use it, but people act like railgun or shield is the only way on higher difficult
Some yt can finish the mission without them even me and friends can done it with other loadout , i know it suck the gun got nerf but the nerf itself didnt game breaking or unusable😅.

Still annoying that the majority of guns/call-ins suck.... I'm not after meta I'm hardly interested in that... ALL I want is options in 7+ that are USEABLE and I'm not straight trolling my team.
Such as the base AR getting an extra 10 damage then another 15 rounds per mag
The AR with extra pen. another 10 damage plus 10 more rounds per mag
The Anti material rife needs something around 60 more damage a shot plus being able to pen medium armor.... as holy shit that call-in is terrible.... ect ect
Those 3 guns are fun to use yet straight trash with just those buffs above they'll be somewhat useable higher up due to the extra ammo/slight increase to damage
That's the sort of buffs I'm looking for on damn near every gun or call-in

I don't mind genuinely hard difficulty, but when it's something that feels as random as a slot machine then it feels more like artificial difficulty which takes away from the fun and the overall experience. RE4 remake had this issue too where the genuine difficulty isn't hard enough so they add tons of hidden parameters like wildly inconsistent staggers or if you miss a shot, then your next shot has a higher chance of a critical or some crap like that. I mean, the original RE4 had adaptive difficulty, but the remake goes way over the top with it and it ruins the gameplay imo. If you're doing too good the game will find some BS way to screw you over. Like, I'm ok with facing hundreds of enemies in an almost unwinnable scenario in Helldivers 2, but I can't stand getting hit with a random meteor or something you have zero control over. I'm really not a fan of the environmental stuff.
What's up with the environmental hazards being added later on anyways? I'll give them a pass because it kind of makes sense being on other planets that could be hazardous, but it just feels like some climate change narrative pushers told the devs that they have to include extreme environmental/weather dangers in the game after release, or maybe they bribed them with money. Same thing with Battlefield 2042, it feels like the extreme weather was forced into the game as an afterthought to subtly put a climate change message in there. Sweet Baby inc type narrative for example. Those are my 2 big pet peeves for modern games, subtle woke narratives and rigged difficulties.

Yeah, it sucks that I spend all this time memorizing every attack routine of the AI generated enemies and invest all this time in building the optimal loadout, only to be killed by some random environmental damage.
How am I supposed to look down on all the other players with my superior knowledge of the game mechanics if I am getting killed by some random event?
These devs aren't allowing me to be an elitist in a PVE game.
I would go play a PvP game, but that would mean I would have to play against real people, with real skills....
