Great build, and a well organised work bench which is a good thing as I work in chaos! I will looking forward to seeing this one again 👍
RC so and so! I love watching your videos! (I'm a subscriber). Thanks for the kind words...this grasshopper would be a perfect companion to the lunchboxes wouldn't it.
@@eekrc Aha! Thanks for tuning into my nonsense 😂👍 There is a plan for a Grasshopper in the future maybe 🤫
Great video bud! Looks like the definitive version of the Grasshopper. I love my hopper from the 80s but it really doesn’t compare to the modern buggies now even at entry point. Still the memories are awesome 😎
Thanks! No, the classics are terrible runners, but I think that's what makes them fun too. The lunchbox is one of my favorite rc cars to drive...and it's awful by today's standards. Do you still have your old hopper? I got rid of mine, and I regret it.
Nice video! I just love building Tamiya RC cars, but they tend to be a bit overly complicated, especially the older ones.
They are still doing it Steven...look at the TD4 chassis...I'm afraid of that one!
I've built the same kit... but it didn't include THOSE wheels! =:O
You are correct! I hate those tiny 1.9 wheels...I like these better. If you watch the unboxing I talk about them, they are left over from a dt03 build.
Great videos. I just got the Black Edition shocks for my 88 Grasshopper 2 and since they were eBay no instructions how to assemble them. Watching your video got me through it. Was just wondering though if you could send me the link for the rear trans part. really need that a lot as mine is still in use. Thanks and again awesome videos.
Thanks for watching! Yes, here is the link...I appreciate the feedback, love hearing that you are keeping your vintage one running!

@@eekrc Thank you very much for the info. And i did restore the Grasshopper 2 that i got while i was in the Marine Corps and stationed on Okinawa Japan back in 88. It had just come on the market and from the guy said wasnt even available anywhere else yet.
@@eekrc One other question on your front shocks. Did you use the short link or the long one? Was hard to tell. Thanks.
@@David-mf9bk The front uses the short shock shafts if that is what you mean.
@@eekrc No that i got. I was wondering about the part that connects the shock to the lower control arm. There were two different sizes.
And one other thing. Sorry to pick your brain. But i got the Shapeway piece for my Grasshopper 2 and i installed it last nite. Question is mine seems really really tight as far as movement goes on the side to side almost looks like it's hitting the screw? Did you have that problem as well? Again thanks for the help. Dave
You forgot to mention it's the Grasshopper II Black Edition.
Good catch! I'll have to update the title.
