Recipe to make Rolled Oats Payasam below:
Detailed Recipe :
Ingredients :
True elements rolled oats - 3/4 cup
Ghee - 3 tbspn
Jaggery - 1 cup
Coconut milk ( thin ) - 1.5 cup
Coconut milk ( thick ) - 1 cup
Water - 1 cup
Cardamom powder - 1/4 tsp
Cashews , raisins, coconut pieces - few for garnishing
To begin, let's roast the True Elements Rolled Oats with some ghee on medium flame until you get that delightful aroma. Once done, transfer them to a bowl.
Next, let's take some jaggery, add water, and heat it until the jaggery melts. Then, switch off the flame.
Now, let's filter the melted jaggery to remove any impurities.
Time to mix the filtered jaggery with our roasted rolled oats.
Add some thin coconut milk to the mix and give it a good stir. Bring it to a boil on medium flame and let it cook for 3-4 minutes until the rolled oats become soft and well combined with the jaggery.
Finally, add the thick coconut milk and sprinkle some cardamom powder. Stir for a minute and switch off the flame.
Meanwhile, let's chop some fresh coconut into small pieces.
In a small pan, heat 2 tsp ghee, add cashew nuts and fry them until they turn golden brown.
Remove the cashews from the pan and transfer them to a plate.
Now, in the same pan, let's fry the coconut pieces until they become golden brown.
Time to garnish our rolled oats payasam with fried cashew nuts and coconut pieces.
There you have it, a delicious Aadi festival special Rolled Oats Payasam with jaggery, ready to be served warm.
