- I make my Blue-tongued Skink named Topaz a brand-new home! I custom built this lizard cage for $150!!!! This is an inexpensive option if you have a Blue-tongued Skink, Bearded Dragon, Ball Python, Corn Snake, King Snake, etc! This lizard cage provides Topaz with 2X more room than a normal 55 gallon aquarium...AND it's cheaper!!!!

PLEXIGLASS: for everyone wondering, i zoomed in on the video and it says the plexiglass is 18 in by 24 in or 47.5 cm by 61 cm
Thank you! 🙏
Thanks

Love this but would def need a waterproof barrier of sorts for higher humidity reptiles so the wood doesn’t rot.
Try Dryloc basement waterproofing paint
He has a northern blue tongue skink, not an Indonesian. They don’t need as high humidity.
@@malyndahsexotics1543 The person in the video said this could he used for a ball python, which is incorrect. That's what Crystal meant.
@@ThrowinBombs80 well I wish crystal would have elaborated then because then I probably wouldn’t have posted that comment to begin with, I was under the assumption that she thought his skink needed a higher humidity, which is incorrect, but if she was just speaking in general then she is correct and so is he, just add in a something water proof to help contain the moisture. I guess the only real incorrect one here is you.😂

I absolutely love the simplicity of this, definitely using this design for the next one i build.
love this video this is really helpful cause i'm currently trying to either buy or build a bigger encloser for a leopard gecko currently using a 40 gallon and feel it's too small for her so im gonna try to build one using this video thank you!
Thank you so much for this. Been struggling with building the new enclosure. Very helpful
This is AMAZING. You know what would kick this up like 100 notches? If you had a material list with the price breakdown in the description box for people like myself who want to try to recreate this! It would make it So much easier for people to go to purchase the necessary materials and be able to see what is needed at a glance instead of having to watch and re watch the video to figure it out!!!
Im only suggesting that because what you did is amazing and I know lots of people will want to do this! Including myself!
Keep it up!! AWESOME WORK!
Yes. We need this
Eh, you dont have to be in mensa
Makes the video useless without it
Right? I went and bought the materials and didn’t realize how off my measurements were 😢 so now I have to figure out how to put it together myself which is not easy and taking way longer than necessary. 😢
Yeah, but a fair bit of guesswork. He doesn't say what size the plexiglass is for instance @@whackstone1065
This is so awesome!! I’m prepping to adopt a bearded dragon hopefully soon, and have been trying desperately to find an enclosure that fits their space needs that I can actually afford!! Thank you for sharing!
This has been the most user friendly video on diy-ing a reptile enclosure . Thanks I want to do this w/ pvc
that came out so beautiful! wow great job 👏🏼
Omg I just saw you yesterday on Instagram and now I m obsessed with your work... carry on buddy you are on the top🎈
Seriously the best compliment!!! Thank you so much!!!
Me too
me too
This is a high quality video. Thank you!
I’m going to making this this month but I’m not going to have the top open up like yours it will stay down. I’m also going to be dry locking the inside because my substrate has to stay moist a little so I need it water proofed! Thanks so much for this cause this is exactly what I want and I don’t want to pay more than I have to getting it from a place that makes them is just too much when you can build your own!
I absolutely love topaz, what a beautiful bluey
I love the ending results. Amazing skills And steps you presented has really answered Any Of My questions or concerns about me DIY😂 Fingers Crossed 🤞🏾 Wish Me Luck
great vid very informative simple and easy to digest. the chemistry between u and ur dad is hilarious
Omg this is the video I’ve been looking for, been wanting to upgrade my leopard geckos enclosure for a long time and it’s crazy expensive for one a little larger than mine so this definitely helps me with my design
fr i was looking at pvc ones this exact size and the basic enclosure can cost $500 not including tax
When I grow up I will try this.
I like this method for sliding doors more than installing window tracks. Can you post a blueprint of thr build?
What no heat source or uv lamp? I like the simple construction of this, but I would definitely recommend heat and light source including wiring instructions.
This is exactly what I need to do for my Leo.
best reptile video EVER
Hello, awesome work man. Do you remember what the measurements were for the plexiglass?
That’s what I’m trying to figure out😭😭
Would love a measurement for this video trying to make a enclosure with lid that opens
That is so dope 😍
Thank you so much!
U could have put the glass in first then put the last piece of wood in so that u didn’t scratch the glass… putting some type of water proofing would be good to prevent any wood rotting… maybe just a suggestion for future references i guess… but it looks great tho keep up the good work👍
Thanks
I like your work
What was the measurements for the plexiglass
If high humidity it might create mold. Water proof the wood
The 14.5 inch inside frame next to the plexiglass where screwed into the side and rear walls?
What are the measurements for the side walls
Where could you install the UVB light and heating light
Did you seal the wood?
Please where did you get your hardware cloth???
How could I attach lighting inside the cage for a bearded dragon?
Can a 4 month old bearded dragon be in it or what size do I need to do
Would the chicken wires be ok for letting in heated lamps for the beard dragons?
yes although you will need a cross section on the chicken wire because its weaker
You didn't show how to attach the piece that holds the sliding doors in place...
What was the measurement for the plexiglass
"Dad this is a kid's channel."😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣Cause daddy keeps on forgetting.
What was the size of the large back wood?
What kind of wood used?
What is the size of the plexiglass
Can I stain the wood to make it look nicer?
What size plexiglass do I need?
Would this be ideal for leopard geckos!?
Lmao all of us watching the video 69 times trying to figure out what to buy, to recreate this. Hahahaha.
Basically about 160 before taxes
What plants were those
What type of wood did you use? I want to make sure I buy something that is reptile safe.
That's what I'm in the comments fo4 too- worth noting pine and cedar are toxic...to bearded dragons at least.
How did he assemble the 4 legs on each side??
I really want a blue tongued skink, but I'm not getting one any soon (we have four cats, so yeh)
We're the plexiglass doors already that size? What size are they?
He didn't say what size the doors are either
Can you write out the dimensions of each piece the walls?
What size plexiglass
cutee i found a black an white juvenile blue tongue skink online im getting it
As fun as this looks, I hate wood. How would one suggest properly sealing it 😭. I’m worried about of bugs and splinters
You posted this a year ago and I’m just now seeing it. I have a couple of questions is there an easier way to contact you then through this chat?
😆😍😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😅🤣🤣😅😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣I just love how you always have to remind your dad that this is a kid's channel. 🤣🤣🤣🤣😅
Jeez that’s a lot of emojis
What’s all the measurements
"dad this is a kids channel"
"oh"
So I could use this for my rainbow skink
How tall is this? I have started to build my own but it’s not working as easily as this one….I know it’s 4ft long, 2 ft wide but how tall?
If the bottom frame is 3in, the top frame is 3in, with the sides at 14.5, then it would be 20.5 in tall without the screen top?
@@krystalrectenwald2796 I came up with the same measurements 20.5x24 inches for the sides.
What do blue tung skink,s Eat
I love animal
Me being a typical artist I would end up hating it if I ever built one like I always do with every little thing I create myself. I’d rather stick to the expensive commercial enclosures lol.
Topaz is going to love it.Well Topaz would love his freedom more.
Yeah this looks humanly possible for sure!
Dad this is a kid channel 🤣
What did the entire project cost?
I think he put 150 in the description
gerat!
Would an iguana fit inside? I want an iguana
A baby iguana, sure.
Iguanas are huge animals though. You'll need a room sized enclosure, or an outside one where they can climb. This will not hold an adult.
this is a 4x2x2 and a green Iguana can easily reach 5-6ft.
Spiny tail iguanas could be kept in something like a 10x8x10 maybe?
Would this cage be ok for a baby burmese python
No. You'll need to water proof the cage, and you'll just end up expanding it within a couple months anyway.
Burms grow quite quickly. I'd recommend making a larger one to start off with.
Ok thank you
18*24 plexi ?? X2
Amazing setup! but I wish I knew exactly what was used to recreate this ☹️
Hahaha I like ur dad hahaha
ayoo topaz from sonic X ?????
Wood has tripled in price since then sooo 150 not happening
Louan woulda been way cheaper, lighter.
I have a pet lizzard!
BUT!!!
My cricket died😢
What does Topaz favourite food
This is a good idea but your measurements are completely off and you didn't even mention that in the video or description, you should probably take this down and re edit. This video is a complete fail.
Thumbs completely DOWN!!
You need to get your animals some girlfriends and boyfriends for real. Also they need TV and cable. They need cell phones or tablets or laptops.
this isnt feable for reptiles has nothing to eep heat in,wood will swell so its a good cheap video not useable
I'm using this for my gecko, I'm just adding some sealer to make it last longer and look nicer. It's definitely usable
great build but one thing I'm noticing with a lot of these DIY builds is that nobody seems to be using a work bench, or even at least ONE corner 90 clamp. Still, great build.
So awesome, I was looking on line for free reptile tanks and it led me to diy and your video. It was the first one that came up. Hope all is well. Ty for this. 💚🐊🐢🪖
what are the glass measurements?
Forgot those! I’ll measure and get back to you!
ok thanks
@@corbinmaxey did u ever get the measurements
@@corbinmaxey lol
