- For Fire Emblem's 30th Anniversary, we retranslated the lyrics to the original Fire Emblem Opera written for the commercials for Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light on the NES. The goal was to make something that was functional in English (that is, something that can be sung in time with the music the same as the original) while being accurate to the Japanese lyrics. Enjoy.

Jacob Heward well I mean good enough for me. Because for one thing the Super Smash Bros Brawl version of it is also different versions of the lyrics. I mean the original commercial version was in Japanese and the Brawl version of it was in Latin.

I was able to sleep until I started playing in maddening. Let’s just say they don’t call it maddening because just because it’s more difficult 😉🥲
I played Three Houses for 36 hours in one weekend once. They really weren't kidding. There was another weekend where I spent about 20 hours playing Three Hopes as well, and another when I spent close to that playing Awakening.

heh, even back then, they were advising not to rely too heavily on Jagen.
A lot of series staple philosophies seem to be at play in that song. Not using Jagen, avoiding unit death.... while they may not have quite known what to make of Fire Emblem yet, the series certainly kept to the original foundation in a lot of ways.
Which is actually a bad advice. Jagen are there to be used.

I'm glad Awakening saved this series. Otherwise we wouldn't have seen Three Houses nor seen this series reach its 30 years.

I'd like to say thank you for the translation of the main theme song of the orginal I never thought it would have some great advice this is my first time playing fire emblem and I'm starting with shadow dragon
The DS remake, or the NES original? The original is... not very beginner friendly, lol
I always knew that these games were created in Japan with earlier releases never released outside of it, but this looks more like ancient British or other European country warfare than anything Japanese. The only game in the series to have looked like it took place in Japan was FE Fates.
That's the whole point. It focuses on European warfare. Outside of fates most of the traveling swordsmen and women, especially those originating from a tribe, have more of a Japanese fighting style/ aesthetic. It's brilliant how they work with it
There's also Chon'sin in Awakening, which is a very east asian inspired country, but theres only like, three important characters from there in the game lol
But only the Hoshido part, Nohr is more like goth arquitechture
it's cultural, Japanese are OBSESSED with European warfare.

I've been playing Fire Emblem since Nintendo finally released The Blazing Blade as just Fire Emblem in the U.S. and it is one of my favorite Nintendo franchises and that particular game is one of my favorites in the series. If Awakening hadn't sold as well as it had, we wouldn't have eventually gotten Three Houses or Warriors and Heroes and in the near future Three Hopes. Maybe someday they'll give the Echoes treatment to the Jugdral saga and The Binding Blade, maybe there'll be more spin-off games, maybe this, maybe that, point is, Fire Emblem lives on.

it's not practical in the newer Fire Emblem because you can switch the classes, plus there's no permanent death to the units unlike Fire Emblem made before Awakening.

I remember when I first played Awakening's demo I hated it. For some reason the series magically grew on me. Now Fire Emblem is my favourite Nintendo series.
It would’ve been cool if Nintendo celebrated the franchise’s 30th anniversary with a super bowl commercial. Similar to how the 20th anniversary of Pokémon was celebrated with a super bowl commercial.

@@mariapolternest7993 It will be the 31st anniversary next year, the 30th Anniversary was this year. In April for the literal anniversary date they did the Young Archaneans from FE11 in Heroes

The ending shows the lords of the various games going from most recent to oldest, so it starts with Edelgard for three houses (she represents that game since IS pushes her to the forefront most often in regards to 3H compared to the other two lords) and then counts down in a sense all the way to Marth, first in the DS remakes and then later for Mystery of the Emblem and then Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light.

There are questions whether Fire Emblem Heroes should be part of the Fire Emblem canon or seen as non-canon because of the crossover of characters from the games.
I compare it to Kingdom Hearts. The reason KH barely features FF characters anymore is because its own cast is already big enough. Heroes has its own story and cast, the characters from other games are mostly an afterthought to the plot now.
I say mostly because Xander.
But, people told me that Sacred Stones is Seth Emblem.
