Finally a CZcamsr speaking well about this album. I was floored by it. I was never the biggest fan of the band, but this is without question my favorite album of the year.
The album has an incredible flow, and the lyrics hit SO hard because of John's delivery.
Can't believe we live in an age where Darkest Hour and Unearth are still at the top of their game 🤩🙏

Wow your album of the year! That's amazing man, so glad that you're such a big fan of it. I think that for me it's either Ihsahn or JFAC currently for my album of the year but we've got some good ones that are on the way for sure.

Great review mate. Totally agree about the band being underrated yet brilliantly consistent. It was an interesting album to review. I think there is some real depth in this album and I enjoyed diving into the lyrics.
Agree about the balance in the vocals and the guitar brilliance. Their use of melodeath / thrash tinged metalcore is exemplary on almost all occasions.
Totally man! It’s a great release and whilst it might not be the most groundbreaking there’s no one that quite does it like Darkest Hour!

Thanks man! They have been brilliant haven’t there. Deliver Us is definitely my favourite with Undoing Ruin up there. So much melodic moments from the band as well!

Couldn’t agree more and glad that you thought the Cannibal Corpse bit was right haha there’s no better band out there. I love DH though and just so happy to have them back!

@@TheMetalTris Dude, this record is so good! It's got the cool elements from the self titled, but it's not nearly as overproduced and it still has some truly crushing moments. And of course the leads and melodies are so catchy. Gotta say, right now my fav track is "A Prayer to the Holy Death". Well worth the wait.

I was never a Darkest Hour fan but I really like this album. It’s really good songwriting. My issue was the vocals in the past, too whiny for me. He has a lower tone now which I like. Really sounds like Josh Middleton from Sylosis vocal wise when he screaming.
Hahaha you’re getting all of the replies today my friend! Personally I really love his singing voice that is often what attracts me to the band more than anything. But that’s the great thing about music isn’t it. We all have different preferences right! Thanks for checking out another video my friend.
