A steam car like a Doble would be the only practical nuclear conversion if you had a 1MW RTG. With 20% thermal efficiency, you'd get about 265hp. NIMBYism would keep them off the road, even though they couldn't explode. If built, such a car could go for several months without refueling. Unlikely. That is soviet made truck engine - it probably isn't in very good condition, but it also has been built to low standards - heavy and unbalanced moving parts, heads that are not particularly well breathing and so on. It was made to move around truck with some 9 tons or so weight, so it has the size and torque, but it also has small carb, ignition setup suited for low rev operation and correspondingly low power output.
@GM Kof hard of course I don't know - how could I, living in a latvia, exUSSR country, know anything about soviet made crap - right? :) Wrong - westerners could have better impression about soviet made things just because they got export versions, while we mostly got domestic stuff - if you don't know, export cars, tractors etc, were built to noticeably higher standards than domestic items - parts used to assemble them went through second, better, quality check, assembly lines ran slower, with best workers and more inspectors, quite often some separate parts were imported, like carbs and so - so even with this higher quality, british importer of ladas, cars of highest quality available to ordinary soviet people, was taking apart them, painting, fitting new interiors etc, and sold them as a no frills car - while over here in domestic quality it was positioned as "little lux". Since we have replaced our soviet made crap with mostly german made stuff, I can assure you - germans back then made cars which, although a bit more demanding in repairs, was WAY superior in everything. Because of that, and availability of cheap second hand cars etc, the only leftovers from that time still visible, are mostly soviet made tractors, although mostly smaller ones, as bigger ones consume disproportional amount of fuel, compared to similarly sized western ones, and the trouble of keeping one on road is mostly afforded by small lot farmers.
@GM Kof hard Revving correctly? thats a truck engine (a semi truck, not some american "truck") not some sporty v8, its not supposed to rev high, probs around 2500-3000rpm.

@minterfab The ZIL 131 engine only rated to like 150hp and 260ft/lb or something though. Basically a tractor engine. Amazing what you can do with an old FIAT! Who would have thought that a 1960's Italian designed car would still be driving around in 2019?
That is not fiat. That is glorious soviet copy called Lada.
Great project, maybe test it's towing power after the next modifications.
Thanks for sharing and best regards from the UK.
Comrade, now add 7 litre Russki truck engine in Lada trunk...call it 'Burnin Vodyanoy 14...Blagodaryu vas, Comrade Vlad.
I think the firing order is off
_Laughs in Russian_
In Soviet Russia, ignition system fires you?
W3 should not have listened when they told us they can’t build good cars! This is a real classic, excellent torque. An ideal road side rescue service vehicle, when it arrived we would know there is a powerful and loud rescue mission about to happen👍
I love these guys. They're actual badasses.
you should build a sketchy exhaust system with some universal resonator and a home-made cross pipe: the project is beyond awesome as always, but i would like to hear that massive engine!
Maybe you could make it pop out from the side of the car! or a massive pipe from the back
Silencers? Stop your Frenchines right there!
@@LordAlacorn you know the deal. you have to put a resonator in it or it will sound like your sink drain.
Your profile picture are teling a lot about your knowing about engines.hahahaha 😂 pozdrav za RUSIJU IZ SRBIJE!!!
@@teamnsr3132 so does yours ;)
Nah, they should keep the straight pipes.
This had to be the coolest video you've done so far
Cool as hell.
Air block in the cooling system. Double clutch transmission to go to higher gears. No synchronization 4th and 5th some gear ratio changes would make it a drag car.
That some real crazy sh*t! Amazing project!
pretty sure this only counts as a 4 litre with the way its blowing flames.
They’ll still shoot sparks even when they are in perfect condition so it’s fine
My name is Jeff... Driftin' Jeff
New challenge: Pulling full trailer with Lada
Crazy builds but the kids love it and get into it learning and using their imagination. Awesome
you and your interpreter are perfect for this. and this build. as tim allen would say... More power. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
17:08 When he said its shaking like crazy, this wasnt what I expected. lol
I think it was faster stock lol
Aahahhaah that's sure but inside here you can get your girlfriend wet without even touching her
DangerJoker ! True, she will be laughing so hard she will be crying rivers!

you guys did what alot of guys wanted to do the idea of a v8 in a shoping cart. cool video!
I admire your ambition! please keep at it.
Those exhaust pipes makes it look like a mad bull.
Next build
IL2 World War 2 engine in Lada.
I can't see much topping this car as far as a crazy build expect for WW2 fighter engine car.
@Sam Style Style There is transmission for anything, if you are rich enough.
Tank engine.
Haha i love this guy. Car overheats and boils the water out of it "everything seems to be holding up fine, lets keep going". His idea of fine and mine are pretty similar lmao
THANK YOU FOR SHARING 😉👍
When you know Russian, but you are still watching English version
There's probably different music being played in English vs what music might be played in Russian.
Another Great work. Keep up the great work and great work to BMI Russia translator too. God bless all.
These guys make it look so easy love this channel
Love the widescreen format!
Well maybe it has 7 litre engine but it doesn't seem like it has a lot of power. It needs some red power from tubro comrades.
7L running on 6 of 8 making a whopping 92hp lol !
This is a long stroke torque Motor. It has more than enought Power even if it has not that much Horse Power, it have a insane ammount of Torque. With the right Gearbox, this thing could be fast as Hell.
This reminds me of the v8 rebel car in HL2 :D
I like how the camera is shaking so much that it seems like an underwater filter is on 🤣
The engine at 10:15
WHY HAVE YOU BROUGHT ME INTO THIS WORLD ONLY TO PUNISH ME SO? MY LIFE IS PAIN.
