It just doesn't get better than this. Jerry is king.

Great scene with Jerry prominently featured in solo-fashion! I remember the night I saw this movie for the very first time on "NBC Saturday Night at the Movies" in the mid-60's, probably somewhere between '64 &'65. I remember this scene in particular & how amazing it was when Jerry walked on water! I still find it a very-clever trick! In fact, I think this was the 1st-time I saw a Martin & Lewis film, knowing nothing of their famous-partnership of previous years. I knew Jerry only as a solo whom I'd seen in movie-theaters up till then. Americans in that now long-vanished era truly must've been spellbound to have this kind of splashy, hilarious entertainment coming into their very-own living-rooms, something long-since taken for granted.

My all time favorite Jerry Lewis scene...takes me back to my youth, watching this movie with mom & dad on a 19" black & white TV

Ever since watching the movie this is from I've always wondered what does it mean I tried to look up what do you mean by gay continental and I couldn't find an answer does anyone know?

“From Miami to London, from London to Boston.” I believe it means one who travels between continents. “Gay” as in happy. So he is the happy traveler, mostly because he don’t pay for it! “I keep drinking so long as they’ve free!”
That’s my interpretation of the song, and you are right. Sources for the term are nonexistent, so hopefully my take helps!

@@abehambino makes more sense than what I came up with which wasn't really anything lol. "Happy traveler" would seem to fit with the theme of the song also. Thanks for your answer.

Even a five year old would understand that Jerry is singing in his professional voice here and not his real voice. And with his real voice he was quite good. But what can you Americans understand. You americans don't have the intellectual capacity
