I looked at 5 videos both black and whites just seemed to stare at them. I would too. So much anger and violence in their rap. Also older videos when Easy was alive the crowd seem to come to watch like it was going to a circus. Also the music is boring to be honest. The movie thats coming out did a great job sounding better then the actual artists.
Saving/me well, it was a reflection of their life at the time with no modern day filters.

Most of the crowd is into saying they were at the concert, why it's so dead, unlike in the days when Eric was alive and it was coming from the real. Ain't the same, 30 years later. Different time, and things change with money and success. Unless you're the Rolling Stones or Grateful Dead. Dead crowd, because the original fans all grew up and have families, jobs responsibilities and grandkids. You have to understand, you sometimes just can't go back, even with the music. Biopic just tells the story of how it was a long time ago. 1989 claimed a lot of lives in the crack cocaine epidemic, but to their minds, I guess they think they have a hot tub time machine. It was an ugly time for the city and it's residents. I worked in one of the busiest Level 1 Trauma centers back then, Martin Luther King/ Drew and what we saw was a lot of gunshot wounds, murder and deaths. Thank God times changed and our Compton crime rate has gone way down. Heck, we even have Chipotle and Best Buy Stores now. Didn't back then. Nothing like today. Sometimes you just can't go back in time. Wistful thinking. But enjoy the movie. We're still here, living life on our limited incomes and opportunities. Gangster is a mindset. It's not the real Compton. We're just people trying to make it like every one else on the planet. Though EZ's son and widow still live in the same house. Even Drake came here with "The Game" to shoot a video, but he's from Toronto Canada, Eh? They all want street cred here. That's about it. Compton is an idea. But to us here. it's just home. Quieter than ever. Just so you know. A lot changes in 30 years, you know? Glad it did. But NWA had their say on the national stage, but it took 3 decades to get to now.

Agreed. Back then, it was epic and in sych with the times when they made it. Today, it's more of an oldies tour. Imagine when Snoop's generation is eligible for SS or retirement. That'll be a trip...I try to stay current, even though artistry and originality is mostly taken for granted. Guess there's always jazz...sampling and regurgitation has taken the place of creating things of more enduring nature. Pharrell is newer, but the court case with "Blurred Lines" should have taught them to pay up, because they did know they were doing a tribute of sorts, to Marvin. Bet they won't do that again. NWA was original, but most of their early fans have gone legit, just like the members of the group. Dealers have gotten jobs and families, the OG's have become citizens, thus the mystique about the film and the times it depicts the romance of the period. Hard to recapture that without Eric anyway. Hologram could have brought it up a bit, but who thinks of that when they have musical myopia. He was NWA, no question. They're just the help, IMHO. When EZ died, so did the music, more or less. Every sound has it's nexus, just like the Beatles. Lenon died, so did the Beatles, essentially. Curbain, Nirvana. At least Dave Grohl is still bringing it with Foo Fighters. And so it goes, Scott.
