Reclamation remains committed to addressing the complex issues of drought through projects like Cle Elum Pool Raise. This project will add an additional 14,600 acre-feet of storage capacity for instream flows for anadromous and resident fish. #yakimawater

Estuaries at the mouth allow juvenile outmigrants to resode in brackish waters, gaining size and equilibrium before setting out to Sea! Great work cover for young fish is crucial, both swift and off-channel areas, cold water Refugia for heat stressed fish, and lack or presence of Castor canadensis and Ondatra zybethicus, which are key ecological for wetlands, retaining water flows, utilizing Riparian Vegetation for dams, floating rafts of plant material, using rank materials, thereby, increasing viabilty and versitillty of certain Riparian Families including black cottonwood, alder, etc.
