Regarding North Bend hikes, Rattlesnake Ledge is a good and much easier hike, very scenic. Just be careful at the top-people fall and die trying to take good photos or corral their dogs. Also, the view atop Mt. Si is leagues better than the video clip (not sure what that’s from, but definitely not Mt. Si). I climbed Haystack rock on top of Mt. Si a few times, and the views are even better, but I don’t really recommend it, as it’s technically a scramble (basic rock climbing). I did see a mountain goat up there though, so I can vouch for that.

@@Cloudyconfusion I think its because I was raised in SoCal and part of that was living in Oceanside CA and I was 1/2 mile from the Pacific Ocean. So when I said the comment about west coast I was referring to towns that were on the coast of the Pacific. Several people I talked to while living in Sequim, Port Angeles, and even here in Edmonds say those towns are on the Pacific Ocean. So maybe it's a little bit of a trigger when I think people confuse the Straits as the west coast.

I live in the Cascade mtns where i can see mt St Helens, Rainier, Adams and Hood which are all beautiful volcano's. All the east coast people and most of west too have know idea how breath taking it is here. Also the Columbia Gorge National Seenic Recreation Area is right here....... If you're going to do a video on a state, please get the pronunciations correct. (props for pronouncing Sequim correctly)
    It's Bell - ing - HAM.
    North Bend are two words.
Winthrop - the route shown is the North Cascades Highway. It's a beautiful and geologically diverse area. It's closed in the winter and doesn't generally open until the middle or late spring.
Going to the San Juans (four are served by WA state ferries) in a car on the Ferry - ferry reservations are *strongly recommended* - ESPECIALLY when leaving the islands.

I've been to all of them, except for Bellingham. Friday Harbor is the best in my opinion. Port Townsend is a close second, with La Conner closely following. I only live 20 minutes from Poulsbo and do visit a lot. It is a beautiful town. I even wrote a song about it, based on history and tourism: czcams.com/video/eSULwGcBHMA/video.htmlsi=PdFBBuWY9Z8HdZ_G Leavenworth is beautiful, but you have to think of it more as an incredibly beautiful theme park than a true Bavarian village to enjoy it. Skip the supposedly German restaurants. The northwest-inspired restaurant Watershed Cafe is better. Winthrop followed a similar idea to Leavenworth, except they picked Wild West for their theme. It does kind of make you feel like you're in a western. Arrowleaf Bistro is a really good restaurant. Oh, and if fine dining is your thing, try Brix 25 in Gig Harbor. Of course, there's lots of other nice things about Gig Harbor. I go there at least every other week.
