Hi Guys! Welcome back to my channel! Today we will be having a look at the Car Equivalent of a loyal dog. A 2007 Citroen C3 1.4 HDi. Personally, I overlooked the C3 when it came out, being more interested in the smaller C2 and the bigger C4. But this has something that those didn't. Character. And loads of quirks.
    Chapters:
    0:00 Introduction
    0:40 Background of the C3
    6:00 Walkthrough of Interior
    14:36 Test Drive
    17:53 Conclusion

I have this car, cheap run around wont last me long term but for now as a new driver on the road i would say its great, the gear stick is exactly how you described it ive previously drove two cars during my learning lessons and i thought the same about the gear stick with this car, i have stalled this car quite a few times however as its new car ive driven, not finding the bite correctly and freaking out maybe its a me problem and not the car it self. The window buttons to open at the front were a shock to me to be down near the gear stick rather then on the window and the electric side mirrors took time to find 😂.

An interesting video - thanks! I travel a lot of miles for work and realised a long time ago that buying cheap secondhand cars was far more economical than suffering the huge depreciation of putting high mileages on much newer cars. Three years ago I came across a 2008 1.4hdi advertised at a price I thought was missing a '0' - however, it wasn't and I ended up paying the vast sum of £300 sterling! A great little car and have now taken it up to 180,000 miles without a problem.....and averaging 60mpg too - now that's economical motoring! However, recently the ride has become rather hard at the rear and can be thrown off course when hitting a pothole on a bend, perhaps suggesting worn bushes, although my garage can't see a problem......has anyone experienced anything similar?
Incidentally, before the C3 I had it's bigger egg shaped relative, the Xsara Picasso - what a car.....comfortable, perfect mobile office - and enough space and totally flat boot floor to sleep on if necessary!

The pre-facelift C3 mk1 had a temperature gage, and overall the cluster looked even more citroen-y. I have a 2004 C3 XTR with the more powerful 66kw diesel, still not fast but very pleasant for longer journeys indeed, as you also get supporting seats. As another bonus for me, this is a very approachable car when it comes to DIY maintenance, the only thing I had to get done by a garage in almost 2 years was the front wheel bearings.

That is amazing. I have always had a soft spot for them. I am happy to hear that it served you well. They are honest and decent little cars.

Thank you for this detailed history and review, you did really a really good job. Actually the Visa did not come with a 2 stroke engine option, it did come with a 2 cylinder engine option so I guess you just got confused between 2 stroke and 2 cylinder,
A US radio host that had a weekly car show in the 1980's once said "There is only one set of circumstances in which you should own a French car, that is you are French and you live in France", I have never forgot that but I have always ignored it as I have had many Citroens including Visa, AX, BX, Xara, C4 and C3 and I have loved them all.. I'm looking out for a C5 now.

It is thanks to comments like yours that I love CZcams. Thank you for your kind words. You are absolutely right about the Visa. It was available with a 2 Cylinder boxer engine. Not a Two Stroke. You have had quite a selection of Citroens. My personal favourite must be the C6, but it never officially came to South Africa. Such a Pity.

I have the same car with the same color, but year 2009 and a petrol engine, very efficient fuel economy (20 kms per litre)

Amazing that the petrol engine returns that great a figure. Love this colour.

Does that model from 2006-2007 have dpf?

That is a great question. As far as I know, those models were fitted with Diesel Particulate Filters.

Is it just me or the tires are smaller than they should be? Do you know about it?

    • @CARacterReviews
      @CARacterReviews  Před 2 lety

Sometimes people put slightly smaller tyres on a car if it is more cost effective. Not sure if that is the case here though.
