6 men on a stage rubbing their woods very fast
Haha
And a Drummer
Seeing old videos of Richardson in his bedroom jamming Petrucci solos and him now on stage shredding with John himself makes me extremely happy!
Exactly what I am thinking!!!
He is playing with his God...
I am so Happy for him, he worked his ass off for this!
He deserve every second of It!!!!
Master and mentor.
10:13 That lick from Jason's guest solo on "Nasty"!
thats not the lick thats the entire solo, and this was before the album even released yet
I hope to see next in line : rick graham , kiko loureiro, tom quayle, martin miller, greg howe and marco sfogli
that wouldnt be fair.... they would destroy everyone there.
its different league, let be honest
Johnny hiland.
I forgot to include brett garsed
You named some underground monsters, not sure if people would survive this
Tony still kills it on guitar.. So glad to see him in better health these days!
Tony kills on guitar AND keyboards! His keyboard chops are remarkable. He's ou of this world!
@@PhilosophyofGuitar I don't know why, but many say Steve Vai is way more technical than Tony Macalpine. I love Steve's chops, but I think I have to disagree on that
Mr. Petrucci’s melodic playing is next level.
When guthrie isnt around

1:43 Petrucci was playing with soul and behind Rusty practice speed picking..no more words to say..
Petrucci part is pure feeling, love it!!
Nice to see Jason’s improvisation improving. Watching this dude grow since his Born of Osiris days is a joy to see.
Ambiguous Fox he listened to the critics. This is what makes a real musician! He knew his weakness were improv but he learned from it. You have to if you're with phenoms that can play slow emotional songs or super fast licks! Looks like rust was trash this time.
I have a friend that actually went to a guitar camp with Jason years ago. if you search "jason richardson trivium solo", you can find a video titled "trivium solo" and its my friend playing with Jason back when they were like 15 or 16
Funny enough, he used his solo from the polyphia song he was featured in to end his improvised solo. The last 15-20 seconds was the exact same solo as that.

@@Liyingbemo I said what to search for
tony mac alpine that style, amazing !!
Why is no one talking about Dave's solo? That was a very balanced improvisation. Loved the feel and technique ❤️
Dave is a MONSTER! What a musician!
Tony is an absolute BEAST !
Petrucci is like: "hey, everybody turn the volume of your guitar 45% less than mine"... LOL
I think so.. hahaha..
Haha lol
I think it’s more of the amplifier settings that JP uses, it’s well balanced and well cutting into the mix.
@@SujeetGT nothing like a Boogie
@@t3hgir totally
Tony Macalpine awesome
All these guitar solos and Mangini just blows them out of the water
I was there. Such a fantastic week, and the amount of musical talent was just staggering. I loved every second of it. I'll definitely be back.
Nice job Jon Finn
Finn is amazing.. So much feels..
10:34 the way that harmony worked so perfectly with the polyphia Nasty solo that John Petrucci made a stank face at your solo 😂 JP making a stank face is the greatest form of accomplishment a man can have on life
seeing jason show so much respect to all this master.. kudos!
Rank the players however you like - what’s undeniable is that T-Mac has the most unique ‘voice’ and approach of anyone in this jam!
I mean that's literally deniable
JP was so melodious!
JP in the past 4 years has been getting more melodic again. The best part of The Astonishing was all them melodic SOLOS OH LAWD
@@JohnsJustSaiyan I like everything from the astonishing but the story lol, like if you cut out the storyline it's an incredibly good album
This is so amazing!!!
I had goosebumps the whole video geez..
John is the master ,he has all the package !
Now this is the biggest shred collaboration of 2018.
The drumming out of this world!!!!!
Tony's tone is smooth enough to pierce your ear! its awesome
So that's how you cut off your ear
Im the 4th video viewer hahaha , guys you are amazing thanks for sharing this!!!
Jason just ripped some melodic phrases straight from his "Aviator" solo! xD Great one!
John and Tony killed it.
When you thought these players had soul...
Rusty comes along and reaffirms it tenfold by playing absolutely soullesly, making the others look even better by comparison.
Bwahaha so funny so true
define playing with "soul"
Dude I would've cried had I been there to experience that lineup 👍👍
Virtuoso Tony mc alpine !!! 😍😍
Tony McAlpine...gosh...ridiculous...such poise...so good!
Richardson feels so humble, tho he's already but mostly will crush most of these guitarists, it's amazing.
best part for me is Dave's bass solo
as a huge fan of rusty...this video is little hard to swallow
Jason that so awesome 🔥🔥
Next JPGU, it'd be very interesting to see JP with at least Tony MacAlpine, Michael Romeo, Kiko Loureiro, Plini, and Guthrie Govan.
Man. u missing Nick Johnston
Oh yeah, Nick Johnston!!!
Owane
Rick graham
Nick johnston pleaseeeeeeeeeeee!!!!
Tony MacAlpine & Jason Richardson had the sickest solos
agree
But Tony killed the total feel I say ..
Tony is still the man.
Great JohN! What an amazing concept.. so much more real than G3 and all that kind of crap. Great job taking the helm and doing something like this!
Whats more real about this? its literally the exact same jam format used in G3, which btw is fucking awesome, nothing wrong with this or G3.
We need more Rusty,we despretly miss him.
What happened to him dont see much of him anymore
All the players displayed their prowess and proficiency on their guitars of choice. Rusty perhaps was nervous..maybe.. since he's sharing the stage with all those other great players especially Tony MacAlpine and John Petrucci etc. I bet anybody would be nervous probably. Imagine your guitar heroes invited you all of a sudden to do an impromptu jam onstage..and they're some of the guitar heroes that you look up to..definitely you'd be excited..and nervous as hell at the same time once you set foot on that stage. I respect them all in this vid. Because each one of them has something to offer in terms of playing styles and so on etc. Love them all! 😎🤘🤘🤘❤
8:37 is where its all happening!!
Tony is an absolute beast..it's tough to be consistently great at this level for so many years
LOL The end of Jason's solo is from his solo off Polyphia's 'Nasty'! Incredible xD
The more fascinating thing is.....nasty is in a different scale than what they played in the video....so Jason had to arrange notes he played in nasty solo in the scale used in the video...amazing innit
Girish Verma, same scale, different key, so the fret spacing is the same but the placement on the fretboard is different.
@@girishverma6582 it's not super hard if you're familiar with the scale played here. After learning Far Beyond The Sun, I tried playing it in the key of a minor. It worked perfectly.
wow..simply amazing...love it!
SICK
Video title: Super Jam
Actual video: Tony MacAlpine teaches guitar to his four students.
Honestly tho
Do you have strabismus?
Notice how John Petrucci os the one who waits the longest to shred
JP and JR like a father and his son
Jason at 5:50 thinking
“Fuck....”
Tsss. He he he
Jason killed it
jason is awesome dude
I'd pass out if i saw guthrie, jason, john and tosin in the place lol
lol where are they?
Well, thx god they're not in one frame. Human brain wouldn't sufficient to process it.
Tosin has already been there

10:30 ..jasons solo in nasty
Yeah I heard that too. Idk what to make of it tho
I can do this all night
I personally love Rusty Cooley’s playing and his solo. I love all the playing here.
Rusty cooley !!!
All hail Professor John Finn....
Man ,Jason has not so much time practicing improvisation and just look the killer level he has, and what strikes me most is he improvise with a level of technical accuracy that is highly impressive. Dude has no roof
imagine how many notes exploded into the universe during that shredderific ending ^^
Martin Miler and Tom Quayle next year please!
How awesome!!! Go Jason!
I liked that bass solo
Ideas for next time: Steve Vai, Michael Romeo, Marty Friedman, Jeff Loomis, Gary Wehrkamp, Andy LaRocque, Michael Lee Firkins, Ron Jarzombek, Johan Liefvendahl, Michael Angelo Batio, Scott Mishoe, Mike Orlando, Joe Stump, Frank Gambale, Greg Howe, Yngwie Malmsteen ...
Props for citing Andy LaRocque, Michael Romeo, Jeff Loomis and Ron Jarzombek! They truly are incredible and not so many people know them as let's say Steve Vai.
Classic shredders and new era shredders
Love everybodies playing .... but would love to see Garsed or Quayle at this gig
nobody can shred like rusty cooley
But he doesnt know how to count bars...
Check out yo onityan, he is 3 times faster and cleaner than rusty
@@paulgilbert3139 yes he is great but I like rusty more
10:16 Jason playin an adapted version of his guest solo from polyphia’s song Nasty... well played
Love to see Nick Jonas too next time. His epic one time solo fail would be great to watch again.
🤣🤣🤣
Jp so melodius 😍
Jason Richardson fast and he has feeling ,as well as Tony .
I like how the description says “six string kinship” but the only players that use primarily six strings are Al Di Meola, guthrie govan, and john finn
Rusty is a bad ass!!
mike magini has increased his level is amazing great fucking job yeah
This Jam compared to the other one is like watching the finals of a guitar contest vs the jury of that conest
Other one was much better agreed !
Love to see Jason playing the Nasty solo 😂
I had heard a legend once that was saying that there was a bass player who did a solo without opening and closing his mouth. I do not know if it's true.
John myung.. Nuff said
Another ultimate guitar wank!!! What a fantastic line-up of greats, all in good company with a great bassist and great drummer. I have only recently become a convert to the gospel according to John , Petrucci, that is. These guys leave me laughing in joyous celebration of the magnificence of humans pushing the boundaries ....

Jason is true disciple of petrucci
Rusty doesn't make music, just shows his skills, just blueluelbuelbuelubelubleubleublbuelbelub
Well, that's what you get when you try to play as many notes as there are stars in the universe into a 3 min solo.
Have to admit, this made me laugh.
True man.. very much
I came here to hear him and sure enough. LoL. Reminds me of Zakk Wylde.
hahaha yeah
😍😍😍😍
fucking awesome!
Massa D+
never knew rusty was so short
I can see some are matures and some are still kids
Jason to rusty :watch me destroy this place!! 0:26
Shaleen Sharma hahahaha
tony!!!
Mike Mangini!
Rusty so savage but doesn't make music yet.
carlos azazel mustaine perez he's bedroom practising for that gig that will never come! Lol
what a great bassist Dave is!
I'd love to see him, John Myung, Gary Willis, Billy Sheehan and Tony Levin once in my life.
fuck Jason Richardson was playing his guest solo from Polyphia's "Nasty" at 10:10 and the solo fits perfectly with the chord progression.
Why mangini doesn't play like that on his albums with dream
He does play like that, the production killed the drum sound in the last 2 albums
I've also read they record drums first, which would make them feel less organic in the whole arrangement.
@@arcadedomination8006 nearly every album ever made is recorded with drums first.
I personally like Rusty... He is doing what is not common and be himself... His method and sound is very odd... But I like it
Next year pettruci should invite yo onityan from japan on this stage..he is guitar hero from asia 🎸😊🖒
Yes! He is amazing!!!!
Oww yeah. Yo is super underrated and awesome
Rusty was in a hurry , had to go home
Jon Finn was so effin melodic each time he played 😭
And idk, but it seemed like Jason's volume was kinda low during his improv solo parts.. :(
👍
