I remember watching this in San Diego as a little kid. I had no idea what was going on.

I live in San Diego, and the Unarians are the nicest people you could ever meet. They are probably one of the most harmless, benevolent religions on the planet. Yeah, it's funny to watch, but these people are genuinely sweet and hopeful

I grew up there, and I absolutely adored them. Totally eccentric, and yet they're obviously having a blast and finding fulfillment. The major religions could learn a thing or two from them.

However nice they may be interpersonally, this is still a cult. At the minimum we know people got robbed of their agency, were made distant to their family and friends, and wasted lots of money to fund Ruth Norman's grift.

This is what happens to the human mind when you have been kicked out of one of the Disney Theme Parks....you just snap and then you say I will make my own fantasy world!

I was super excited when I thought I had seen planet "Vulva" but it managed to further dash my hopes for humanity when he said "Vulna."

I grew up in San Diego and spent a lot of time in El Cajon. I was always curios what was in their building, but was afraid I would be abducted. :)

Just as I started to think about how dangerous that lady's christmas light spacesuit dress was, there was a big flash. It looked like her suit finally exploded.

@PublicAccessFan but there sure are some nuts that do. More than you think. I lived about 2 miles from this nutty place. They are located just south of Magnolia and Main St. in El Cajon (about 20 miles east of San Diego). I would see a few hundred nuts dress up at times when they were allowed to go into the public and preach their believes.

The cult rapidly declined after Ruth Norman died and their prediction in 2001 failed to come to pass. I wouldn't be surprised if they're down to less than a hundred people now.

I wonder if they had 33 people to announce different planets or if it was the same 6 people quickly changing behind the banner and grabbing a different sign in rotation. Its hard to imagine they could get even 6 people to go along with this anyway.

dude mellow out and try to just see it for what it is. its hilarious and ridiculous and as far as i can tell its completely harmless (might be wrong; whatever) but as far as our involvement goes, its just something fun to entertain yrself with and some of the philosophy is pretty down to earth actually.
