i love you like kings love queens
like a gay geneticist loves designer jeans (genes).
i need you like new orleans needs a drought
like hitler's father needed to learn to pull out
and i love you like a lawyer/mathematician wants some kind of proof
and i love you like JFK wanted a car with a roof.
cause love is taking a dive, then getting really comfortable and peeing in the pool
and love is real life porn minus all the stuff that makes porn cool
and love is a homeless guy searching for treasure in the middle of the rain and finding a bag of gold coins and slowly finding out that theyre all filled with chocolate and even though he's heartbroken he cant complain cause he was hungry in the first place.
i love you like dora loves maps like the popes toilet loves holy craps
i need you like a voyeur needs a branch
like boys tossing salad needs a little bit of neverland ranch
and i want you like all the gothic kids that look exactly the same never want to conform
and i want you like anne frank wanted
no one to read her fucking diary...cause a diary's a collection of secret things that no one is suppose to read thats the whole point of a diary. millions of people have breached this little girls privacy after she was chased by nazis kick her while she's down.
and if we met in 10000bc i was your caveman youz my cavelady
if we got hot we'd start rubbing
if we got hungry we'd go clubbing
theres wooly mammoths but i will protect us
you're making me devolve to a homo-erectus
and if we met in 1780
i was a white southern aristocratic plantation owner and you were my dark-skinned servant lady
slave...
whenever i could get away from the misses
i'll go to your shed and then i'll steal you kisses
but let's be serious i'd still work you full time as a slave
theres a difference between romantic language and a complete disregard for socio-economic trends.
and if we met in 1941
i was a nazi youz a gypsy on teh run.....thats a little redundant
that...probably wouldnt've worked out.
cause love is your favorite food for every breakfest, lunch and dinner
and love is the holocaust except you dont die quick adn you dont get thinner
and love is being the owner of the company that makes rape whistles and even though you started the company with good intentions trying to reduce the rate of rape, now you dont want to reduce them at all cause if the rape rate declines youll see an equal decline in whistle sales....
without rapists whos gonna buy your whistles
love is all about whistles... - Komedie
love is a homeless guy searching for treasure in the middle of the rain and finding a bag of gold coins and slowly finding out that theyre all filled with chocolate and even though he's heartbroken he cant complain cause he was hungry in the first place. Best line ever
Thurnis Haley Crazy right?
He is great
Great analogy for long term relationships:)
My best friend knew about his music before me and told me that quote IRONICally at lunch and now I listen to.his music everyday
Oh I thought you made an original line but you just quoted a line from the song and added nothing of value to it
Love is a homeless guy searching for treasure in the middle of the rain...
The metaphor about the homeless guy is the best description of love I've ever seen.
I don't understand it.
+Anti-HyperLink At first, it's like you won the fucking lottery because from the outside, it looks like the best thing in the world. Then you kinda figure out that the reality of it is a bit shittier, and it isn't really what you were expecting at all. Then you figure you can't really complain because it's still better than what you started out with.
Love is like eating nothing but corn and inspecting your feces.
Anti-HyperLink I think it means that love isn't usually how you expected it to be, but it's still great. For example when you finally go out with your crush. You'll often find she isn't exactly like you thought she was, but usually you'll find she's still great.
I was you’re 1.1k like
you know you're in deep when you watch Bo's old videos filmed in his room you can hear the audience laughing at all the right parts
Cameron Perry I thought I was the only on hearing them.
lmao so tru
Cameron Perry I'm not getting only one!
Cameron Perry yep
Cameron Perry , i am wondering, how tf am i already subscribed to you?
the line about Anne Frank's Diary is the best thing I've heard in my entire life. I laughed for a good twenty minutes.
Same, I loved the rape whistle line too
the look on his face when you know hes going to settle with ending on whistles is genius
But if you read the diary, you'd know she wanted to publish her diary. Still funny, but just sayin'
leah6000lk exactlly
Same! Btw you're profile pic is like total gorgeousness like omf I'm infinitely jealous
I watch Bo's videos for 2 reasons:
1. Because he's a genius and frickin hilarious
2. The comments posted by people trying to figure out what the hell he's saying are almost as good as the actual video
when you spend half your time on youtube in the comment section instead of watching videos
So technically 3
3. whistles
yeah
But that's 3 reasons lol
Random doesn't equal funny, unless it's done right.
And Bo sure as hell knows how to do it right!
MarneyG Yes jacksfilms tells it like it is but he is the exeption
Erin Harrington lol
Andrew Turturro It does, somewhat. But the thing is, a lot of people try being funny by doing or saying random shit that doesn't make sense. And to me, that's just not funny, and just gets down-right annoying in some cases. Which is why most comedians, or even comedy movies, are really bad now a days, because they don't try to do genuine humor, they just do random shit or say things that don't make any damn sense.
Hence why I really love Bo Burnham, because he makes a perfect mixture of randomness and genuine humor, which makes it really funny.
That's my view/opinion on it anyway.
MarneyG everyone of these jokes makes sense idg how its random
jish kelly Because he adds in so many different things. Like he starts singing about sex, religion, slavery at one point, I think. And it's all kinds of random things. Hence the randomness.
That's what I mean by him being random in the right way. What he says makes sense, but it's still random as heck.
The homeless metaphor is literally the best metaphor for love I've ever heard
Is it? Sounds like a lot of people are in for quite a disappointment if that's the case then.
billny33 I'm probably too late to reply, but "he cant complain cause he was hungry in the first place" doesn't make it sound like love's a disappointment
But it's a simile...
What if the homeless man was Rich (from sad)
@@niamh8966 is-is this bo Burnham lore?
"Buy my cd! ...or don't... or doooo.."
yes, i also watched the video! :D
Yyyyyeeeeessssssssss :):):):))))
He has a perfect voice and his comedic timing is perfect. His timing is why "what." Is so prefect as all of these videos

Who else is doing a deep dive on Bo’s channel after watching Inside 100 times. Just me?
Oh, no, not just you.
Not me, I just remember this from when it was first posted.
Me
Me
meeee.
One of Bo's greatest works. Almost all of his works are just perfect. I can't believe how many sexual innuendos and jokes just flew over my head when I watched this a while in middle school. Now in college and wow Bo Burnham is seriously too damn clever. He was only 18 or 19 when he made this I think. Please do another special BO! We need more of your ironic, satirical, incredibly offensive and hilarious works . Good old days of youtube :)
"Discovering" a Bo joke is like realizing that Vicki Lawrence is the one that shot Andy
Hey, how did college go?
How was college?
I hope that you found a major you liked in college and followed it into a career that continues to bring you satisfaction in life.
Hey, i like your shirt
I've listened to this hundreds of times and I'm just now realizing that when he says "love is your favorite meal for breakfast lunch and dinner" he's probably hinting at the fact that even your favorite meal would probably be ruined over time if you had it all the time, that you'd get sick of it, take it for granted, like most relationships- sounds amazing at first then fades horribly over time. It's just the law of conditioned responses in a more primitive situation with a shade of ominousness... damn Bo.
Ayy, I learned this too a bit ago in my class;
Like indeed when you eat your favourite food everyday, you’ll get annoyed from it; he said
If you see the same girlfriend/boyfriend every day; you get annoyed from him/her too
Dude. I felt this. Four years later I felt this.
when he said "I want you like JFK wanted a car with a roof" I audibly said "oof"
I laughed for a good 10 minutes when he said that, ngl
ya know whats ironicinorironic, jfk was one of the only people to want an open roof car, he was strongly advised against it
@@LucasBurrell yeah but afterwards he definitely wanted a roof - only it was too late by that point
Besides the fact that his lyrics are fucking amazing he is really good at adding shit like facial expressions and pauses, really adds to what he does.
And he's a musical genius who plays multiple instruments! He's just phenomenal all the way around!❤
Yes. His comedic delivery is absolutely unparalleled... down to every pause, eyebrow/voice raise, everything about his visual performance just adds to how absolutely fckng hilarious he is... added bonus if sarcasm is your first language 😂❤
13 years later in 2022 and Bo’s content remains ageless.
He really was 15-20 years ahead of his time.
A true genius
I love him because he doesn't care who he makes fun of. He treats everyone the same.
This man looks like the type of guy who will heal the world with comedy
Like a guy who would make a literal difference meteorically

"Love is all about... whistles" - Words of Bo Burnham
Lol
I'd never thought about the irony of rape whistle sales before! Bo's an unassuming genius!
This guy is creatively clever... I hope he goes really far
if you didn't know, he has already made 2 shows, "What" and "Make Happy", check them out
+Reason I know... I saw them already... But I hope he goes far
+Campoo Macko he has gone very far but he sure has more to do
he has actually made 4. He has an unnamed special on comedy central, he has wordswordswords, what, and now he has make happy. He has also appeared in parks and recreation and has had his own mini series
He also wrote a Poem book.
this has been my favorite song for 7 years
Same
id like but dont want to ruin that perfect 69
is it still your favorite song?
“Socio-economic trends”’he was f***cking 17 when he wrote that. Cmonnn. Dude is the G.O.A.T.
i didn't even know that word existed since a couple of years ago.
Seriously, he's a genius! I absolutely love Bo!!❤
Nobody:
Bo Burnham:
Whistle is Love, Whistle is Life
"Love is your favorite food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner"
I think that ones a better description than the homeless metaphor.
Every relationship gets old and jaded, you just keep pulling both sides of the rubberband until it snaps and someone gets popped.
Eventually your favorite food wont be your favorite anymore >_
whistles
This is one of my favorite songs of all time. I seriously find myself singing this song or randomly just saying the "Love Is" part many times, even a couple times a week sometimes. Bo's stuff just has a way of sticking with you. Even more so if you followed him from the beginning. Love ya, Bo. Never change.
Gracious sakes… this guy was one of the great comedians at this young age. I’m purty old and I don’t remember anyone as funny as him. I’m so impressed. He can lift my spirits anytime. I just watch some videos and I’m immediately laughing out loud. He’s gonna heal a lot of people.
im still taken aback at how good he is/was.
I respect bo a lot for keeping these videos up to this day
Bo, your voice at 3:40 makes me melt into a puddle of smiles and happiness every time :)
"Love is your favorite food for every breakfast lunch and dinner"
This is the most realistic quote out of them all
I don’t get it
@@SantiZX it tastes great but it gets disgusting after a few months or years if you're lucky
@@SantiZX Your favoroute person 24/7
The randomness of this is absolutely magical.
+Eat.Sleep.Internet. There is no randomness to this. It's all very well thought-out material that both makes sense and is brilliant in several ways. For instance, the thing about the homeless guy finding chocolate coins is a perfect analogy for real, practical love.
It's funny to see this comment a year later. Now that I've seen almost all his content and have come to appreciate it fully , I'd be the first to say that what Bo does is nothing short of lyrical genius. It isn't one bit random.
Eat.Sleep.Internet. Cool! lol I never look at dates. Probably should.
I havent heard this song in 7 years easy. And I just sang along 70% of it straight from memory first go. This was one of my favorites from way back then.
Bring back my childhood. Used to watch these videos when they were coming out for the first time. Thanks bo
"like al the Gothic kids look the same but never want to conform" fkn right m8!!!! what's original about that though right?
The joke about “The View” has aged like the finest wine
Oh, man I havent seen this in years, and it still cracks me up. Good stuff.
"equal decline in whistle sales".. friggin awesome. OMG..still laughin and the song ended like 5 min ago.
the diary part was my favorite- I almost died- but it's hard to pick a certain part- Bo Burnham is AWESOME.
the riff at 3:41 lives in my mind rent free
the opening joke about the View was gold.
love is coming back to this video 10 years later
With everything going on on this big blue ball, thank you Bo for coming back to give us a little dark humor prn. Cheers from a forever fan.
One of my all time favs by Bo. I still love the end. "Buy my CD...Or don't.." *whisper* "or do."
I love you Bo! You're honestly a genius with comedy :)
Haven't heard this in years and it's still AWSOME!! Bo, you seriously need more subscribers, you're a fricking genius :) X
been here since this was new, love your work bo.
I love this guy’s comedy! He seems like the person to call when your house is full of smoke and you could use a joke.
I'd set my house on fire just to have Bo call me.
Bo is literally the definition of perfect.
Going back over all his old videos. Still laughing! Love you!
Listening 12 years later still appreciate, all the memories of singing
I have one, it goes "Love is a fifty foot dive, and there just so happends to be a medic near by"
Clever! Nice! (Love your profile pic!)
It makes me kind of sad to watch this now, knowing how much time has passed and all that has happened since then. All that Bo has endured mentally. It just kind of pains me to watch what now is likely one of the things (I assume) he most regrets. Crazy to see how much he has grown since then
I don't think he would regret this.. this is a young kid making an incredibly clever (and actually pretty accurate) satirical take on love :)
Bo has the best word play I've ever heard 🤘🏻.Im talking every song he wrote I've been watching his vids for maybe ten years. You're the man Bo. Keep that poetry flowing.
I couldn't agree more!
Where has all the time gone 🥺 I watched this in high school 😭
Ughh I remember watching this 9 years ago and falling in love with him. He was amazing back then and still is just a mesmerizing now
Line " Whose gonna buy your whistle " must have reduced the selling of whistles 😂
I watched your videos like 6 years ago and now I'm here again xD awesome songs man :)
Woah
So timeless, thank you Bo for your songs homie
Just realized he said "if the rate-rape declines..."
Five damn years I've listened to this song and never noticed.
definitely gonna serenade this to my crush someday
Did you do it?
How’d it go? ;)
OMG!
THIS, though!!! This is the Bo that made me fall in love with his humor and stand up/comedy.
Snarky, intellectual, cocky, fun, sometimes controversial, dry and witty jokes that are somewhat offensive (only to select few) yet all completely relevant and true. This is the magic formula for why he became so popular, in my own personal opinion.
Not gonna lie, I really-often- wish that he'd go back to this style of comedy more, nowadays, though. Don't get me wrong, as completely amazing and still relevant his content is now, I sometimes long for the simpler days when he was still young and not trying so hard to be "deep" and shit. That's just my own view on it though, I'm not trying to say it's the right or correct one.
Just miss young cute Bo with his cockiness and swag.

10 years!
Damn, it's been that long!
damn it's nearly been 12 years since this masterpiece was released.
Still have my autographed copy. One of the few possessions from that time in my life that I've made sure to hang on to
Quirky boy I fell in love with your art. This was one of my old favorites; I loved Inside, but I wanted to look back on where your humour has gone over the years. The lack of laugh track really makes these funny, along with the aged humour. Cheers x
Perfect!!!!! "Like JFK wished he had a car with a roof" im dying! XD
Look I know this video is almost a decade old at this point, but I just have to say this boy has such a beautiful voice.
Probably my favorite bo song! So great!
i still love this. been listening to the CD you mentioned cause i don't buy new CDs hardly ever...i'm set with listening to this and the same shit i've been listening to for a few months.
love you Bo.
his voice in the chorus of this song just hits different 😭😩✨
JFK asked for the roofless car so he could be closer to the people.
Ben Rajan that was sweet of him
He deeply regretted this. For a fraction of a second.
Ben Rajan
well... I guess he did get closer to people in another way too.
Bos songs are the kind that you can watch over and over I get more and more from it. Part of the reason why they're so great.
I binged a bit but watching I’m bo yo was really cool to see you perform your theatrical pieces, like how you learned it to give to grove then to add your public flair it’s very inspiring
Like when you stare at the wall, assuming you learned it and practiced by using that as a resting/focus point
Ten years today... he’s made it a long way since paying piano in his bedroom
I've always loved Bo Burnham since my brother showed me his first special. I'm watching his videos and laughing, but it hurts because I just got my wisdom teeth out, but so worth the awkward pain. I keep passing out during some videos... I'm going to stop now becasue i think th eo medicatfroh is kicking in.. n
Bahaha :)
Probably my favorite song of yours :) love the little nerdy stuff as well haha
10 years later and I love him sm
this is well written and though tout, not actually random.
Love is all about......whistles

I have been listening to you since I was 12 years old and to this day you are the only one who can make me laugh when I’m feeling depressed
Oh my... I love his songs! He makes them funny but they still make since!!
Hey. Hey Bo. I'm paying you to tell me you love me. Cuz I bought this song. Oooo yeah real life foreshadowing

Breanna Hansen True
Breanna Hansen No, near the end of the war they said all documents on the war and what happend during it would be collected. Anne Frank heard this and redrafted her diary, in greater detail, to be given to them. Sorry, for being vague, I can't remember the exact details.
her dad published her diary she died in concentration camp, her dad is the only one that lived and published her diary because he wanted to honor his daughter
