Usually, unless I already saw the film and want to hear his take on it. I really can send info on how to rent that main house. There is a hot tub, also roof access. It is set up that way, the main house, then other structures across. It's not that close to Joshua tree, and the only way to see the whole park would be by helicopter.

Personally I’d like to see a sequel starring his brother. He finds out what the demon did and, with the help of his friends, defeats it once and for all. Show that his whole “meditation/no drugs but looks like a druggie/hippie” gig had a purpose. I feel like the brother has a hidden strong side that wasn’t explored. Maybe I think too deeply though.

Thats explained how the hisji kills, shape shift, when the victim is in a group of five.. One of them try to commit suicide in whichever manner.. That why zoe felt strange when her friend who stare her from above suddenly appear in front her

Great job on recapping and explaining this movie.
When Zoe and Evan are in the kitchen taking a shot and then go into her room to do more shots, you'll notice a guy in a gray shirt and black jacket (not part of the group) standing at the kitchen table rearranging 5 cups. Hmmmmm!
Also, the long haired blonde girl you mentioned standing behind Evan when he's sitting outside lacing up his shoes (good call out) is actually sitting on the couch to the right when Evan walked through the living room and said "Morning" before he walks towards the door to leave the house to get his shoes. That's why later that morning he asked about the blonde haired girl missing from the group, because he saw her sitting on the couch (in between Sam and Tori passed out on the couch) before going outside. He could not have seen the blonde haired girl if she was standing behind him as he gets up from lacing his shoes to walk towards the shed.
Also, after looking throughout the house to find nothing, everyone crashes in the living room, but Max is seen coming out of a room, just walking around looking at everyone in the living room. Max is definitely not one to be quiet or polite, and just walk through the living room not to disturb anyone. Hmmmmm!
It's also interesting that in the end when the Hisji transforms its face outside of the window to reflect those in the group, Brian and Hayley weren't shown. Hayley shows up later banging on the door, but we didn't see Brian. Just saying.......a little curious about that one. It was also interesting that Zoe held up 4 fingers with 5 of them in the house. She then goes to 1 finger and 4 of them turn around to kill themselves. Not quite sure how that adds up. It may have made more sense for her to hold up 5 fingers and go to 1, signaling 4 to kill themselves or commit suicide with 1 remaining, who would be Evan.
I think calling out at the very beginning of the movie that we see Evan's pale, white face and green eyes was great, as this could coincide as to why he "randomly" picked the story, found the star ring and thus ended up at the end of the movie, to keep it going with Peyton's friends. So, the movie starts with Evan and ends with Evan. Hmmmmm!
By the way, I also noticed that she was called Zoe and Zoey throughout the movie. Weird! Cool movie after you watch it a few times and see or notice all of the clues.

Shon'non Wooten Sr. the movie wasn’t that popular in the first place so channels like these give it a lot of publicity. most people haven’t even heard of half the movies this channels covers so at people at least know what it is when watching these videos. if anything these videos help the directors bc some ppl consider watching the movie after seeing the videos and he mostly covers indie or underrated movies

i actually love this movie. i’m a huge fan of the clean cinematography and how it doesn’t just use jump scares, it uses paranoia. one thing that i think he focuses on too much is the “partying teenagers” trope, which is intentionally used to confuse the audience and set a scene.
i also think the acting is fantastic, the entire time all of the characters, one sided or not, are played extremely realistically and they all interact like normal 19-21 year olds who are on a vacation.
i’m also particularly fond of the framing of most scenes, the use of symmetry, and reuse of scenes to show the mood change is really cool!

and finally the scene where the camera is zooming out from the house while you hear evan freak out while everyone is dying is absolutely beautiful. the use of sound design and a simple clean shot is fantastic!

I live in Joshua Tree and that is not junk, it's decor. There is a dome where they have sound baths called integraton. That house is my friend's that she rents out to people, mostly from L.A. who drink, do drugs, sometimes shoot each other with a b b gun. It's in Wonder Valley, 30 minutes from Joshua Tree. Id say this was pretty accurate. Except the being able to go online to find the story while in the park.

I liked the little background details. My favorite trick in horror is to let the background tell a story
Honestly, I loved the hell out of this movie. I am a massive horror fan so I have seen my fair share of the usual tropes but this movie just stood out to me. i think most of that is due to my own personal tastes. I love slow burns so I can often love a movie even if it fails at proper pacing. But I felt the simple approach worked like a charm and left me, the viewer, in a similar increasingly dreadful and paranoid state. I also am a HUGE sucker for movies based on folklore. Not enough of those out there and not many done right. This movie felt like an adaptation of one of my favorite kinds of horror tales where it has a whole "We have seen the enemy and they are us." Always love the vids FoundFlix. The world wouldn't be all that interesting if we all loved/disliked the same things. Much love.
