What about the Olympic marathon swim (10k open water)?
It's funny when former triathletes say they aren't fit. Maybe not fit compared to what they were when competing, but definitely fit compared to the average person.
Kudos to the team but specially the camera man who did his part and he mentioned he had never done that. 😅

This reminds me of a college practice we would do every year where we would all race the full American high school meet order in a row. Not quite the same, but similar.
Now that is a challenge I can get on board with! A great achievement 😊 such a shame Mark would have been DSQ’d for an illegal finish to the 100m fly though. Now he has to wait 4 years to give it another go!

Same I just haven't as it's been stormy all summer and same in the fall.
This is fantastic!! Major props to Mark for attempting to do butterfly. I'm saying this as a person who can't even do butterfly for 50m.
You forgot the open water events
What about Artistic Swimming?!?! Unarguably a swimming event...
A local
Masters club hosts what is affectionately called the Brute Squad...for time you must complete a 200fly + 400IM and them a 1650 yd free...you can so it all at once or take breaks but once you start, the clock doesnt stop until u are done...brutal! But there is a cool T shirt and other swag so totally worth it!

we do this set at our swim club but without the 1500, and call it the french king set because one of our french coaches introduced us to it and swam it with the squad (it sucked in a good way)

In Germany the yearly short course team championships (DMS) are nearly the same program (all strokes 50m, 100m and 200m, plus 100, 200, 400 IM and plus 400, 800/ 1500 Free). Every team needs to swim the program twice (once with 800F, once with 1500F) and every swimmer has a maximum of 5 starts. You receive points for every single time and the team with most points wins. It is s lot of fun!
Pretty sure this is one of my coaches Christmas special swim sessions 😂 it’s tough, personally I start long and work my way down!

So, what was your elapsed time? On my birthday swim this year, rather than 100 yards for every year, which would have been 7300 yards, I got in 5500 yards in 2:20. About 2/3 was with stubby fins. Just not in shape as I was the last couple of years. About half the distance was with over arm side stroke. Of course, it would have been impossible without Precision fuel and hydration...
What kind of sunscreen are you using? I’d be well done before I finished a 800
