He seems to be finding that sweet spot where he is calm and humble outside the ring, training, and talking to the press, but bringing that bronze bomber instinct during fight time. I like this new version of him.

Mad respect for Wilder. Got his mind right, money right - ready for War and the being the top dog. If you believe it anything is possible.
Hes 38 years old and through his entire career hes been one dimensional in the ring, looking for the big right hand. He has a good jab and has showed it at times but not consistently. Also has a decent left hook and right uppercut, but hes always looking for the right cross. I wish Deontay well but its a bit late in his career to do a total turnaround. Ill have to go with Zhang on this one.

Agreed, he seemed to have a good game plan against fury in the 3rd fight during the early rounds. A wilder from that fight or pre-fury would easily knock out zhang

Wilder is going to have to fight for his life against Zhang. Zhang I don't think will be easy to go down + he seems quite relentless in his pressure and very heavy handed. If I were Wilder, I'd be looking to basic jab in and out of range to tire Zhang (his cardio isn't going to get better with time) and wait for Zhang to walk onto a purely instinctive right hand which I think Wilder truly a natural skill for.
If he gets up with Zhang I don't see this fight going on for very long. Wilder isn't all of a sudden going to want to be working it on the inside, he isn't going to like the forward press from Zhang and given Zhang has laser accuracy with the left hand, I can only imagine its about trying to nullify that as much as possible, tire him out and when Wilder feels it is right to shoot the right hand, then go for it.
Zhang is a big old lump so I don't suspect a flash KO as we have seen before, but I do think a good 2 or 3 well landed right hands from Wilder might be enough and I wouldn't be shocked if we see a ref step in "early" to prevent Zhang from taking too many hits because Zhang (unless the Chinese audience is really behind him) is far less marketable than Wilder for a big fight.

tough task to get past Zhang. But if he does and since he is with Hearn, I can see a U.K. run at O2 arena for the next 2 years. This could define the 2nd part of his career. Maybe Daniel Dubois, then Joe Joyce, and a rematch with Parker. Then A.J. for the mega fight they didn't have years ago
If he gets through that and if Usyk is still champ, he can go for undisputed and close his career out. If it doesn't work out like that, he's still had a great career.

Zhang’s horrible gas tank is the one thing that gives Wilder a chance, and Zhang came in way too heavy in his last fight, he needs to go back to what he weighed against Hrgovic / the first Joyce fight. The chances of Zhang winning in the first 6 are pretty high, and if Wilder bulks up again the gastank advantage that he would have is gone.
