Is This The Best Fujifilm Lens?

  • I've been taking photographs with the Fujifilm X system for a number of years now, and while I have not used every single lens in their lineup, I have found a few favorites over the years. However, this is one that I just can't seem to put down, it goes with me on every single trip. And, while it may not be the sharpest, lightest, or fastest lens in their lineup, I think the case can still be made that it might be the best.
Something that I've grown to appreciate as my photography matures is the versatility of my gear, as opposed to the raw ability of any one piece of equipment, and this lens exemplifies that. F4 isn't particularly fast, and the rendition of this zoom lens doesn't have some of the character or charm of the Fuji primes. But what it lacks in those areas, it makes up for in usefulness.
So, I thought I'd make another video about the Fujifilm 16-80 F4 lens.
Lastly, Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks are wonderful places to visit and explore, so if you are in the area and have never been, I highly recommend you stop by.

Great expose. I used the 16-80 for a Special ELLE Magazine studio shoot. Ultra sharp and good contrast.

I use the x-h1 and noticed the video can be jumpy too. It seems a little smoother when I don’t double the frame rate. At 30 fps, I set my shutter at 1/30. Maybe try that and see if it helps.
Love the scenery! I’ve seen a lot of redwoods, but I haven’t been able to make it over to the sequoias yet. Someday.

I'll try the shutter speed trick! It's not a deal breaker for me but I do end up having to edit around the jumps a fair amount. Maybe the right lens/camera combo will help.
Yeah, definitely get to the Sequoias if you ever get the opportunity. I loved it there, will definitely try and go back.
Thanks for watching and commenting. :)

You are right, the best lens may not be the sharpest or fastest 😎📷😜
