That’s because the reverse mirror is actually how everybody see you in person. But when you look at a plain mirror the reflection of our image is actually switched.

Is a whole mood that I relate to especially every time I walk past a mirror🤣
the issue is the mirror, not you. the True MIrror is a weird new way of looking at yourself, but once you get used to it, you can see the source of your true hot-ness...it's the way you animate yourself that makes you attractive. Its like your face might be pretty, but when you show up with your face, that's when you can be hot. Just like they say "handsome is as handsome does", the same is true..."hotness is as hotness does". The problem with mirrors is that they stop the action, and you just become a face again. Whatever feelings and emotions and energy and personality and expressive nature gets altered instantly when you see yourself, and since expressions don't look the same as real, your response will not be real. its subtle, but its been going on since childhood, such that the second you see yourself in a mirror you shift to that mirrored self...and its missing the hotness that your friends and lovers love about you. The True Mirror, once you get used to it, is designed to give you back yourself, your full self, and to allow you to stay present when you make eye contact, enough so you just might say...daaaammnnnn i am hot!

Your brain likes what looks familiar so that's why you think it looks so bad bc your brain isn't used to the opposite reflection. No one else can really tell... infact if other people saw your face the opposite way ( the way you think looks better) they would probably think it looks worse because they are used to the 'other' you.

Yes, this is the classic "mere exposure" effect - we like what we are familiar with. No one sees you as you do in a mirror, we all see the real you, and would prefer that goodyfeed.com/look-better-mirror-normal-research-shown/

someone has probably already said this, but, this video is the best makeup video i've seen in sooo long. to ME, my face looks "crooked" and i always feel self conscious about it and i wanna try this mirror but you're teaching and explaining and being just amazing and i love it. you're saying it's okay to have "flaws" and helping. thank you for posting this

People with perfectly symmetrical faces tend to look way weirder than you might think. I think it's cool how unique each side of the face can be.
Also, side note, your brows are amazing!
One of the key things to realize is that as soon as we start expressing ourselves, we become more asymmetric. I mean, if a person smiled at you with a perfectly symmetric smile you would think its kind of weird. Our brains are asymmetric, and whatever we are thinking will control our faces asymmetrical. And yet, when we look at each other, we can recognize and read that expression really accurately, especially with the nuance that the expression gives us. The backwards mirror screws up all that nuance, and because the messaging isn't the same, isn't natural, the tendency is to not express. In the video, there's only a couple of times that Sylvia really smiled at herself, and it was fleeting. We just express so much less in mirrors because we have been conditioned by them since childhood. But in real life, and in the True Mirror, our expressions work to show people who and how we are, what we are thinking, which is so much more than just a static, perfectly symmetrical version of us.

You can just install a mirror in your bathroom that is on the wall perpendicular to the one your original mirror is on (so there would be one facing you, and one to your left or right facing your ear if that makes sense) and make sure its a cabinet mirror because when you open it, it will mirror the original one making you able to see the real you. I happened to have one like that already in the apartment I’m renting just for extra storage, and now it’s all I use to do my eyebrows
Hi Lizzy, sorry its so much. the special mirrors used are expensive and putting them together perfectly a real challenge. but this way you can make eye contact without a distracting line in the middle. But for sure, use two mirrors at right angles to see the effects, esp if you are trying to even out your makeup.

I feel the exact same way every day. Like if someone else takes my picture with the snapchat camera my eyebrows look crooked. What I started doing is after doing my eyebrows, I take a picture of my face, the way it would look if someone else was taking my picture, to make sure they are even. It has actually made a huge difference.
