20 Mins Pranayama Practice | 5 Breathing Exercises for Deep Oxygenation & Calm Mind ( Follow Along)

- Hi Everyone!
Today we will be doing a pranayama practice that will help you oxygenate the body and calm the nervous system. Make sure you practice this on an empty stomach or at least 3-4 hours after eating.
We will start with some easy stretches to warmup the shoulders, spine and open up the hips & hamstrings. Then we will move to a cleansing Kapalbhati Kriya, followed by Chandra & Surya Bhedi Pranayama, Nadi Shodhan Pranayama & Bhramari Pranayama.
You might need one pillow for this practice. Once you are ready, lets gently hop onto the mat & get going.

Thank you. glad you enjoyed it. Its common for 1 nostril to be slightly blocked as the nadis keep alternating every 2 hours. If it is not too blocked, you can continue the practice. However if its full blocked, you can practice Jal Neti for relief.

Wow, this is the first time I have done pranayama and it really elevated my yoga practice after this but now I'm feeling really lightheaded :( It would be amazing if you could do some shorter 5 or 10 minute ones as I can see that your channel consists of a 15 minutes min. Would this be possible? Thanks
Hi there! Sure I will try to make a shorter practice. If you are feeling lightheaded, try to keep the breaths slower - specially in pranayama like kapalbhati & bhastrika. As your practice improves, it will become easier :)
@@BhartiYoga I really appreciate your reply. I have done pranayama breathing before but never for 20 mins, it’s usually just a couple of minutes max after yoga lol. I will try to breathe slower next time, but I think 20 mins was too much for me. I’m still feeling the effects of it rn and my comment was 2 days ago 😆 I can feel my insides more, I’m breathing much clearer but I also feel like I’m a bit more sensitive emotionally which is a mad feeling. I still feel light headed also which is… crazy & unexpected lol, so I’m going to leave it for a week or so whilst I keep an eye out for your shorter ones 😁

I have Asthma and having issues with breathing, I saw 2 videos on breathing for 15 and 20 minutes, both look good, which one should I follow.I have COPD.

Hi, ideally you should practice this on an empty stomach in the morning. If you are doing it in the evening, you should wait at least 3-4hours after eating.
i have noticed lots of people chant shanti at the end of breath work practices and i was wondering what this symbolises?
Hi Ruby, shanti basically means peace - chanting it three times signifies inviting peace for mind, body and soul :)
