The secret number is 44. That's how many cards you have to deal to get to card 44, which is The Card. So, if you deal it all and don't get any numbers, then each pile has 10 up cards and one down card (11 each for 44 total). If you deal a 6 while counting at 6 (you dealt 5 cards) and you stop, then you will need 6 more cards to deal, hence the adding. So a 10, means 10 extra cards to deal after the 4 piles. That's the mechanics.

An added element I did for this trick is I had my spectator shuffle the other deck to distract them while I "shuffle" the other 9 cards. I'm not very good at false shuffling a card to the top of the deck.

A lot of times when doing card tricks, one gets asked to do it again and this is one that you could do with a little variation. Control the chosen card to second from top and now when you do the final countdown, you count the correct number of cards down and then say "your card is the next one." I've tried this and so far has satisfied the audience. I did get asked to do it a third time and just smiled and moved onto another different trick.

Every time your card will always be at no. 45.
    4 decks of 11 cards each, i.e. 44 cards.
Ifa number matches your countdown, you already have 11-x cards faceup and the remaining x cards are in the pile.
Its a simple math to reach to card no.45. Hence your card should be at the top of 9 cards always !!

This is a very neat trick, when I do it I actually force their cards to be the 8th from the bottom, so that after dealing all the cards their selection is in the remaining cards in your hand, from there you can either reveal it or do some fancy reveals. I prefer this way over the 9th card because it is possible to get 4 piles with a face down card at the top, and in that case their selection is in our hands and not on a pile. By the way, the math behind it is quite simple, look at it as each pile you are dealing takes 11 card away from the pack for a total of 44 cards which is the position of their selection from the top (in the sown versio), if you use the 8th card version their card will be 45th.

This has interesting mechanics since the only things you control is that the selected card is 44th from the top before you start dealing. You don't control which cards, if any, match the number you're on when dealing each pile, nor do you control how many times that match will occur. Each pile with a facedown card on top will have 11 cards, and each pile with a faceup card on top will have 11, minus the value of the top card, cards total.
But, the card you turn over, to reveal the picked card, will always be in position in the deck equal to the number of cards you've dealt into the piles, plus the sum of the values of the faceup cards...and that always equals 44. That's the trick, and it is ingenious!
One more situation needs to be handled, in the case that none of the first 3 piles has a face up card, and no card with a value matching the pile count turns up in the fourth pile...because, in that case, the number of further cards to deal would be zero, as all 4 piles will contain 11 cards each.
Thus, the last card dealt into that 4th pile needs to be revealed with a flourish, because it will be the 44th card down in the deck...the selected card.
I have suggestion that might even be more amazing: This would be to position the selected card in the middle of the first 9 cards (5th from the top in those 9 cards). That would allow the magician to show that the top card of those 9 cards is not the selected card. That would "prove" that you didn't "stack" the deck, since the 9 cards will appear to be in random order, as would the rest of the deck, since you didn't alter its order before placing on top of the 9 cards.
In this variation, the final count down in the undealt dealt stack would be the sum of the values of the face up cards on the piles, plus plus the number (4) of prior piles. You would always end up at the 48th card down from the top of the undealt deck...again, the selected card. (If there were no faceup card piles, you would only count down 4 cards...the number of piles.)
It might be easier to stack those 9 cards with this variation, because the selected card will need to be 4 from both the top AND the bottom of the 9 cards. In your first demonstration, the initial trick move, before the false shuffles of the 9 cards, would be to simply move the top (random) card to the bottom.
As I said, this trick is really ingenious. I respect whoever thought it up!

    Proof Why it works.
Our Card is on 44th position.(it has 8 cards under it)
Now 4 piles cards + Face up cards should add up to 44 Or Put simply every pile's face up card Value + dealt cards add to 11 And they Does everytime because
If any card did not match then we put a face down card on that pile and it has 11 total cards and contribute 0 to total sum And if it matches on first card then we have 1 face up card dealt that contribute 10 to sum so total 11 .
Same way if it matches on 2nd card we have 2 dealt card + 9 = 11 and ......
    10th card + 1 = 11
Eg. In video 2 piles have face up card 10 and 6 add up to 16.
And 10card pile has 1 Dealt card Amd 6card pile has 5 dealt cards. And 2 face down pile has 11 cards each. So total 16 + 1+5+11+11 = 44
English is not my primary language so may be i am not able to explain it precisely. But i hope you got the idea.
I worked out this type trick's math when 1 was kid. So it seems familiar.

  • @ky1i316
    @ky1i316 Před 2 lety

the idea is that your card is always the 44th card on the deck. So you place 11 cards down 4 times. The whole "When i get a card that matches the count is still a complicated way of placing 11. Example: if you place 1 card and it's a 10 you will place 10 more. 1+10=11 if you place 5 cards and you get a 6 (which matches the count) You place 6 more. 6+5=11 The only difference is that you don't make 4 separated stacks of 11, but in the end you have placed 44 cards on the table no matter what. You just reveal the last card you placed which is always the money card if you stacked the deck right. The reason you do all of this is to hide that you are just taking 43 cards of the deck and then their card.
Amazing trick though. I love the videos you make, keep it up.
