- Room 237 is a 2012 American documentary film directed by Rodney Ascher about perceived meanings in Stanley Kubrick's film The Shining.
The film includes footage from The Shining, and other Kubrick films, along with discussions by a number of Kubrick enthusiasts.
The film has nine segments, each segment focusing on different elements within the film which "may reveal hidden clues and hint at a bigger thematic oeuvre."
The film was produced by Tim Kirk.

I was willing to give this documentary a shot, figured it would ask the ONLY question the movie ever rises which was " Was the hotel actually haunted or if it was all in the characters heads?"
What I got was a documentary about other people's interpretation of scenes and objects seen in the movie THAT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE DAMN MOVIE!

0:27 "Room Turdy--237". You shouldn't have..."corrected"...yourself. I've tried to get through the 'documentary' in one sitting but I can't. The movie, the book, and many of the ideas (some quite good) about the two proposed on the internet grab my attention but unfortunately the docu just didn't. What a shame.
Seen this "documentary" in my high school theater class, I thought it was pure shit. My teacher loved it but she was just like the motherfuckers in this piece of shit "film". The people were insane and their ideas were even more crazy, I love that Stephen King slammed this shit. I agree with The New York Post, you could do this with any film if you watch it enough and over analyze it.
Thing is I don't get the point of the whole thing
I liked "The Shining", but I have no desire to see a documentary about it or something like it.
Anyways, What do you think about the upcoming "Mad Max" movie "Fury Road" or your favorite director Rob "Cummings" Zombie's new flick? I can't remember the name of it, but he casted his wife again in it.
I'm not that interested in watching "Lords of Salem" either, especially after viewing the trailer. Rental.
As far as "Mad Max:Fury Road". I'm kind of split, I like that they have the original "Mad Max" director. Cool. But I hope he doesn't change the recipe and go in some akward direction. What do you think?

I thought this was going to be a movie not a documentary. That's when I turned it off!
The only part of this movie I actually liked was the whole backward/forwards thing. Otherwise I thought it was a crock of you know what.
I've seen every Kubrick movie ever made, I have four favorites and this ain't one of them. It's boaring and confusing. Ran docs are just opinions as are pros. Another strange and confusing movie is EYES.

You guys are really funny! They should make a south park episode about people seeing subliminal messages in every movie. The most of the time I watched it I was like "SO WHAT?!". Such a stupid documentary!

I first saw this "documentary" on Netflix. I thought it was a boring piece of shit full of stupid conspiracy theories. My dad, who was watching it with me at the time, thought so too. It was a waste of time. We didn't even finished it. We only made it around 30 minutes in.
Another video that is still funny as hell. Man this movie was a useless piece of shit. Bunch of conspriacy theories, and ironically enough the Cannon films doc mentioned here was just as bad as Room 237.
