Don’t be afraid of Taxes guys! Keep good records, don’t cut corners, pay what you owe, keep what’s left. Separate your business account from your personal and you should be good. Don’t let that stop you from starting.
As for printing copyrighted stuff, you'll be surprised what you can print by just asking. Companies have licensing departments/agreements just for that purpose. Some of them cost, but at least it keeps you out of legal trouble.
Brandon, I know this is an old video but I wanted to just come back and say THANK YOU!!! Preach! I’m OCD about my bookkeeping. After completing one year of business I have hired a CPA to file my first year of taxes as a sole prop and I’m excited about it. Yes it matters to me that i account for every item. No I don’t want to leave out or skip over report stuff. I am learning to do business the right way as a tiny business so that when I become big business I know exactly how everything operates. Thanks for this video man!

If you're trying to operate under the table, then it's not a business; it's a hobby. And, if you're unlicensed, sometimes bigger businesses won't buy from you. They also have to keep their paper clean.

I've worked for print shops that sold designs that belonged to other companies. Absolutely. It wasn't my idea. I was a lowly designer so I had nothing to do with it but I hated being a part of it. I lost freelance work when people learned that I was working at that company. People couldn't trust me, as if it were my company. It didn't matter though. We had customers that would come in the door with other people's designs like, yo, can you knock this off. LOL They knew this company was doing it so it was a selling point. Everybody in the industry knew. Well, that company is gone now so we can all rest easy. If you doing too much, we not coming to gitcha no more.

People also need to know that these payment services make it easy to do your taxes every year. I use Square for my side businesses, and they send a report every year that I can use to prepare taxes with TurboTax, or I can give it to a tax preparer. All I need to do is keep track of my expenses. Having a legit business is not that hard. It's more work to try to be slick than it is to be legit.

Question when you start purchasing items wholesale for your business how would you know how many to buy and what sizes sale
Example small t shirts how many should I start with
Medium size T-shirts - quality
Large,x-Large and so on etc
Also what colors sell

Great video man, gotta get back started. I have a quick question about gang sheets on Transfer Express: should I play it safe and leave a noticeable gap between each design or try to get them as close as possible to get the most designs on it?
you gotta remembwr you have to cut these out with scissors before you press them on. so whatever you think is good and whatever you think will be easy to cut. all depends on how good your scissor skills are hahahahaa
So my bright idea self thought it was great to buy everything i needed to do it myself.. lol and not think that i never did this before maybe i should practice. no i just got established as a company yesterday, got a ein, and my selling permit.. now idk wtf to do.. trying to get everything down and out is hard when you are not a designer.. Also an answer to your question is nfl, disney, and whatever is off of someone else.. as long as you purchase the commercial licensing and read what is says about how many times it can be reprinted.. i came across you reached out to a few people (designers) you mentioned and no respond yet so idk.. i want to start a tshirt company, so i figure ill go pod get with a designer go with some shirts and a new logo order samples make sure its good and go.. i feel like that will give me the time to figure out doing it on my own and getting the hang of the designing side.. sorry for the mouth full.. im just over here by myself

sorry i dont. i dont use etsy. i drive all of my traffic for my shopify store thru instagram. maybe that same technique would work for etsy. just gotta know what your target market is and start engaging

Brandoh, I have a brand name as an IG handle and Ive been talking to people who follow tags that I use to try and generate sales...It hasnt worked so far but I wonder if the IG handle puts them off because they still feel they are being sold to? Its @ the brand name and ''apparel''. Do you think I should change the handle and keep chatting with people to try and get some sales, because things hsve been slow this month? Thanks
nah. i dont think its your ig name. depending how many people you are engaging with , who you are engaging with and lastly your designs have to be relatable to the people you are engaging with.

I've always been curious and have not been able to find the answer to this: if you go legit get your license and resellers, is there a MINIMUM amount of taxes that need to be paid? For example if I don't sell anything at all, doIi still pay a year penalty or fee to the IRS?
for the best advice on taxes and whats needed and not needed and thresholds and penalties and fees and what to do and not to do. pay a cpa or an accountant or a tax preparer to ask all of these questions too and get the correct answer. i personally wouldnt rely on a person on youtube like myself to give financial or tax advice. I would go to a professional to be 100% sure about all your questions.
