Without making mistakes we don't learn. Now if in the future, you need to replace a window, you'll know how to do it differently and better! DIY is a learning process. You take the good with the bad. You not only learned for yourself but helped others as well who may try and do it for themselves

I have almost the same as your old van, with all those fixed windows. I LOVE the open windows with air flow. I just paid $900 to have one replaced so I could open one in the back. Glad all your other windows aren’t leaking. The skylight must be nice to lay in bed and watch the stars! ❤

Where is your PPE?! What were you thinking...cutting metal with no goggles or gloves! A 2-month build completion means you have to avoid mistakes, AND personal injury, to be successful. Hopefully, the windows are the hardest part. "A" grade for determination, courage to DIY, and for calling in an expert to fix the problem. 🤗
I was wearing PPE! I had goggles and hearing protection anytime I cut metal, I probably should have used gloves too though like you said 😊 thank you for the tip and encouragement ✨

I think everyone’s window leaks, just no one really talks about it. Mine did, I had to cut it out myself. Took me and my friend 2 hours to do it. Then my son the auto glass installer who I didn’t wait for initially came and reinstalled it that night. If I ever build another van I’m getting windows professionally installed for sure!
when you laid down the silicone, did you make sure it has a triangle peak that protrudes out? that ensures that leaks dont happen when you place the glass on.

I would have loved to use another arctic term window but I had this one laying around so I thought I might as well use it! Now that the hole is cut I can’t replace it with another window 😅 so I’ll just have to get this one fixed
