Kobe worked way harder. Lebron does too. That being said mj was an athletic freak and basketball savant. He was one of the first to include athletic conditioning, weight lifting and was the first athletic guy that bothered to learn fundamentals. All these things are common place now. MJ could not work harder than most top guys due to overtraining and the increased risk of injury. I take it you’ve never trained in athletics. He did not work harder than boxers, college wrestlers, swimmers in his day. Boxing, mma, wrestling, swimming, gymnastics are the most grueling sports in terms of training.

He did intense training including basketball training, weight training, and athletic training not to mention the studying that he did to learn how to beat teams as well as to develop his game. He was so versatile, he had two different primes: his athletic prime from 1984-1990 and his skill prime from 1993-1998. As he became less athletic he started to polish his fundamentals and he ended up mastering them

@tony tonyt Jordan would do fine in today's game, especially with the amount of spacing there is on the floor. Getting to the hoop would be a breeze, as would be finding spots on the floor for his jumper. He would have to work on his 3 point shot though, but given Jordan's work ethic I wouldn't doubt for a second he would improve.
That being said, people often forget the 80's had HUGE scoring averages and that they actually WENT DOWN in the 90's largely due to expansion.

Jordan's ( father was murdered ) and he retried, to try and fill he's dad wish of him being a professional baseball player. Jordan returned towards the end of the 95 season to lead the struggling bulls ( that was just above 500 record with a 25-23 record ) into the playoffs. The Bulls won 24 of their final 34 games, and finished the season with a 47-35 record, going 13-4 with Jordan back in the lineup. The video above was from the 98 season, Jordan and the bulls we going for there second 3 peat, so I'm not sure what you mean about him taking a year off? unless your talking about his 1 year and 1/2 retirement from the end of the 93 championship season to the tail end of 95 season ( Jordan played in 17 games ).

That Raptors team had a lot of potential. McGrady, Billups, Marcus Camby, Doug Christie. It would have been interesting to see if they kept that young core together with Vince Carter the next year.

I agree, that core had so much potential, if they stay together through 2001, they would've gotten past AI and the Sixers and probably face the Lakers in the Finals that year.

The Celtics really never did anything to get in the way they only met once in the playoffs the rest of the time it was the pistons. But they only stopped them from advancing they never stopped Jordan. Hes always pouring an onslot of points. They werent done with anything. Lebron had to deal with both celtics and pistons and in the end and now only with 3 titles.

Now imagine giving that Raptor team more time to mature! You had speed and drive with McGrady. A soon to be NBA Champion with Chauncy Billups, Slam Dunk Champion in Dee Brown. A quality shooter and defensive guard in Doug Christie, 4x Block Leader and Defensive Player of the year Marcus Camby, along with John Wallace. Wow, what a basketball team. It was just a matter of having the right coach and that team would be one of the top teams to challenge after the Jordan Era!

It’s scary how comfortable MJ looked in this game. He had 30+ and a game winner and he was so casual about it like it’s just another day at the office. Also the raptors had a very nice team. I know they were at different points in their career but if you put tmac christie billups and camby together in their prime that’s a nice team. And I assume Carter was on the team as well.

I’m glad both defense and missed shots were displayed in these clips. You have to remember these guys are professionals… taking 100s of shots, maybe 1000s a day. You leave them open they will shoot it in.
