Joe Rogan should invite more pro wrestlers from 80’s & 90’s era before they r gone forever...they r entertaining as hell from their road stories
National Treasures
The Outsider there already gone
Oh for sure!👍
Thank you Joe Rogan. Thank you for helping tell his story.
Need Stone Cold on here for sure!!
I really liked how Joe just let Jake talk. No interrupting, just let the man tell his tales. I hate when interviewers do that
I agree, Joe has good interviewing skills.
Joe gets better and better. Other interviews like on 60 minutes or something are just no good anymore. Joe changed the art of the interview
Lol. Like fat Alex Jones does. AJ is the most annoying person ever.
He has a knack for entertainment. You'll see him talk a little more when he has less entertaining guests to try and make the cast as entertaining as possible.
Joe isnt really a wrestling guy. Hinchcliff bein there allows the conversation to expand more i think. Best part about his podcasts he doesnt interveiw he converses
Hands down one of the saddest, happiest, funniest most entertaining interviews JR ever did. I could listen to Jake tell his stories all day long.
Amen to that I will second that
30 years of cocaine, being molested and beaten as a child to a recovered Yogi. Damn you are a true inspiration Jake the snake 🐍
After listening to this, Jake is now one of my favourite humans. Please get him back on, I could literally listen to him telling stories all day
Stories is exactly what they are.i hope you know that dude.i mean I'm sure there's some truth in them but he exaggerates them to crazy heights.he can't help it.hes been paid to lie, exaggurate ,and tell stories almost his whole life.
You where there during all those times he’s talking about? Because if not, you look rather silly telling us what did and didn’t happen
@@TheStupidNerdz no sir,I wasn't.i never said they didn't happen.im saying he's exaggerating way over the top and it's very easy to tell.i know that i was trained to pick up on these things but anyone should be able to pick up on it too,as he's so very loud about it.
its what he does man.thats what he got taught and paid to do his whole life.its good shit.its funny as hell .im not hating on him for it,im just pointing out the fact.and hey,im far from perfect and i could be wrong.like you said,I wasn't there, but be gives all the signs of being deceptive ,and i say, really exaggerating the truth as I believe he did go through these things but not like he tells them.
He's like that loud kid at school ,who had no shame, and tells all of these crazy stories while everyone knows he's lying or exaggerating like crazy but no-one calls him out on it bevause it's funny as hell and u just can't wait until the next day to hear more.lol
“I’m not saying they didn’t happen, I’m saying he’s exaggerating way over the top”
That’s like saying “he’s not lying, he’s just not telling the truth”
You’re obviously clueless. Stop desperately reaching and do something more productive with your time you fool
I'm here from listening to the "Macho Man snake story." I was skeptical, not knowing much about Jake but now I gotta agree. He's an awesome story teller, great timing, great delivery, great voice, great impressions, great material.
@@jasonmusser7561
What part is exaggerated about, lets say, the snake story?
There's video evidence of the unbelievable part of that story.
6:38 Is this exaggerated? I almost spit my drink out on his delivery of "I don't WEAR clothes."
I'd MUCH rather listen to an interesting exaggerated story, than a dull true one.
After hearing the snake story and coming here, if Jake started this interview saying "Everything I'm about to say is a lie." I'd still watch it.
I'm curious, though:
1.) Do you only watch documentaries and read non-fiction books?
2.) Are you the type of guy that if Snake said "We packed 35,000 seats at the blah blah arena" and you chime in "Excuse me, Mr. Snake, that arena only has 33,852 seats!"?
3.) Do you believe everyone is always lying or do you ever give people the benefit of the doubt?
Like; I believe you were trained to pick up on those things. I prefer giving people the benefit of the doubt.
Jake's Macho Man impression is the best I've ever heard.
I dunno bro. Brother Love does a pretty God damn great Macho Man over on Something to Wrestle with Bruce Prichard.
THINKIN THINKIN BROTHER OOOOH YEAH
One of the best that is certain.
Nah Jay lethal does a perfect imitation
Jake's is fantastic, but I've got to nominate stand up comic Dan Soder's impression as the best
I forgot about Jay Lethal. Sheeeeeit. Tbf though anyone can do a passable Randy Savage with a bit of practice
"Macho's DEAD,. snake's the champ!" - LMAO!!
It's so fucking weird he cut a promo in a real life on his peer
A real life backstage ambush
So weird when u scroll past a quote at the same time it is said. Especially on a vid as long as this lol
“Don’t take no elixir...” 😂😂😂
Best Macho Man Randy Savage impression ever.
The best lmao
Bruce Pritchard does a pretty amazy one too
You trying to get my intercontinental heavyweight championship?
Dan Soder does the best impressions of Macho
Jake sounds more macho man than macho man did lol...
"Angry to wake up"... Hits home. Dude knows the struggle.
No doubt at one point in my life I was disappointed when I opened my eyes from sleeping. The struggle is real and reality is a struggle!!!!! B strong brotha
100% relate to this. I've been in this scenario for quite some time. Every now and then I find something to believe in, something to live for, and I start to get better and live better, but then it dissipates and I'm left with just myself, which has always been my biggest problem, myself.
Anyway I wish you both the best, hopefully yous are doing well and enjoying life now
Honestly, I'd like to see Jake on the podcast again. He's funny, and filled with stories.
but without the third guy, he is so annoying
Tony was completely unnecessary
It's hard to put into words how much listening to Jakes stories of his past and how he turned it all around helped me do the same. Thanks Jake and thanks Joe for having him on.
Keep on rocking👍💪👍💪👍💪
I love all of Rogans podcasts, but, this by far is the best. Great stories, and a great man in Jake "the Snake" Roberts.

"Machos dead, snakes the champ."
What great booking that would have been.
That was the quickest 2 hours + show I've ever listened to. I think I could listen to Jake Roberts talk for 5 hours and still want to hear more. What a captivating person, if current wrestlers had 5% of whatever it is he's captured professional wrestling would be booming again.
Current wrestlers do, they're literally neutered by politics and poor writing. Just let the guys do what they do best and magic will happen
I was thinking the exact same thing. Jake has gone into hell and come back and it was captivating just listening to him pouring his heart out.
TheJeffreyJJones Agreed!
I thought the same, i cycle 90 mins to work and this was the quickest ride ever. What a guy.
Yeah, this was pretty cool. Watched the entire thing.

Thank you my friend, you’ve helped me/us in so many ways!
My God that's got to be one of the best Macho Man Impressions I've ever heard lol. Awesome to see Jake so full of life.
It's a toss up between him and Dan Soder. 🙌 Crackle crackle!
I am a 47 year old woman... I used to go to the wrestling matches with my Daddy. I love Joe's pod-casts but I usually skip over the mostly sports ones... Geez....I got caught up listening to this one while I was doing some data entry at work. SOOOO interesting! I really enjoyed it. I remember Jake the Snake from the matches that I went to with my Dad (I remember so many other wrestlers that Jake mentioned today). What a legend! I hope that he finds every happiness! Great show!
Will you go on a date with him?
With your "Daddy" LOL
I was around Jake a little while in 2008 trying to make it on the indies. I liked him a lot but he was unpredictable and when he got sauced and he scared me in those situations. I thought he'd be dead any day. I'm so THRILLED to see him sober and doing so well and reconnecting with his family especially. God Bless You brother man.
never happened.
Why would someone lie about being happy to see someone sober?? You guys are sad. You DO realise indie wrestling exists ands its totally common for the likes of Jake Roberts to be around from time to time? Right?
Get your heads out of your asses :)
Jake "The Snake" Roberts is a legend, epic stories. This was one of the best episode on JRE! 👏
His impersonation of Macho man had me rolling!!
Kody Arocho he already sounds like him
And Jake was just in the locker room behaving himself smh

@the truth its not so much of the crash and burn stories people like from wrestlers. I think its the backstage stories that everyone loves especially since everything was kept under wraps tight back then.
@the truth I have so much more respect for these wrestlers after finding out their struggles. After viewing them as super heroes/villains during my early life, knowing they have weaknesses connects them to us so much more. They are human beings given responsibilities to be a hero. Escapism is amazing.

This was brutal listening to all that he's been through. I'm grateful to hear this tale.
Snake is such a REAL human, the fact that he had a superstitious fear of becoming his father by holding his kids, is a fear SO insanely accurate in the minds people who were sexually abused by a family member as kids, its so astonishing and awesome that someone of his stature and age is SO open and honest, and IN TOUCH, many people for many generations, because of THE SNAKE, will no longer feel alone in their feelings and fears from those horrible experiences, so thank you snake :)
Thank DDP for masterminding this whole thing with Snake And Scott Hall! I’m sure through Jakes and Scott’s testimonies; they’ve saved dozens and dozens of lives!
Joe this was your best interview ever. Get some more of these old school wrestlers on here. They're such good story tellers.
Jim cornette would be an amazing interview. He's worked with every major wrestling promotion and has created some of wrestling biggest stars.
Thats why they were good wrestlers they were amazing at telling and selling the story.
Paul Heyman would be awesome.

Tony is like a little kid sitting in on an adult conversation 😂😂
Yes, he was so annoying. And I had a difficult time believing that he was old enough to have seen Jake wrestle at that time. Perhaps it is a cross over to generations attempt to introduce Jake to much younger people. Which I would appreciate.
Why is he even in this podcast? what's the reason behind having him there?? because he's a fan?

When I was 7 or 8, Jake the Snake was my favorite wrestler by far. I wrote to WWF magazine saying, "I think Jake the Snake is the most scientific wrestler." I found out that letter was published when the guy who owned the corner store showed me the magazine and my little one sentence contribution. It was one of the most exciting moments of my childhood. He then put four quarters in the Contra arcade machine that lived near the door in that place and I floated on cloud nine until my lives ran out. I didn't beat Contra that day, but I did later on, and for anyone trying to accomplish the same thing, stick with that spread gun, she's all you need.
He was also my favorite wrestler when I was that age. My dad took me to see him in Chicago back in the 80s. He walked down the aisle just a few feet in front of us. I was completely starstruck!
If I'm remembering correctly, the extra lives code for Contra on the NES was:
up up down down left right left right A B A start. That was over 30 years ago. Yet, I can't remember what I had for lunch 2 days ago.
Idk if you just messing with us or what but that was fucking eloquent
What year and what's your name?
Not likely that you write so well AND telling the truth, but, good story bro.

This is my all time favorite podcast from joe Rogan. Ive watched over 20 times.
One of the best Joe Rogan podcasts I've heard. Amazing listen.....
Jake Roberts = Legend
Jake is a fantastic talker. His promos were some of the best in the business. The way he never raised his voice, his tone, how dark and eloquent his promos were. He didn't have to yell to make a point, he didn't have Macho Man's energy and raw emotion or Hogan's sheer size and capacity to grandstand, he was just the devil in your ear, making you question yourself, using that almost whisper like voice and almost always making a good point somewhere. He's a seriously unrated talker because how underused he was and because how bad his personal problems got but it's good to see him recover and get back up after decades of drugs destroying him.
Yes, his promo and in ring psychology is 2nd to none.
Very well said my friend. Recovery if people make it is a joy and a blessing to himself and many many around him. Recovery touches so many and not just the person in recovery.
Imo, the best promo was his because it was poetic, highly intriguing and believable.
You know what's amazing about him. Is that his voice is clearly damaged from drug use and smoking, his brain also has to be significantly damaged.....but after all that, and even at 63, he is still compelling and can hold his own on JRE
I love when he starts talking about Andre. What a man...

One of many wrestling terms. Shit is cool as hell. And thats a straight up shoot lol.
I've been saying this for years just like I say glock knock instead of pistol whip
"My daddy loves you, I love you because daddy lives with me now" I'm blubbering. I don't know the man. I was addicted to meth and am going on 2 years clean. His journey resonated with me, it inspired me. I'm so grateful to this man. I'm now a father and am studying evolutionary biology at university. This story, watching my idol go through the same motions as I did and for decades longer than myself, only for him to come out the other side really impacted me tremendously. I've seen a lot of comments on this video trying to devalue addiction as a disease, every addict is aware it's not a literal disease. It's metaphorical, it grips you and you feel powerless as does anyone dealing with chronic disease. The easiest parallel I can draw is an addict relies on drugs to get through life like a diabetic relies on insulane. Yeah the circumstances that have led these people to this point are completely separate. They are completely analogous however. An addict doesn't make the conscious choice to be an addict like a diabetic doesn't wish their biological makeup be faulty. A series of poor choices may lead an addict down that path. However, I think you'll seldom find an addict that has gotten themselves into the position they're in post the full development of the frontal lobe. Yes outliers exist. They are exactly that though, outliers. I didn't want that life for myself. It was killing me more than the drugs were. But do I wanna live with the memory of being molested by my friends dad at 7-9? Or would I wanna do anything so I can to escape that? Should I open up and tell my mother? It wasn't malicious on her part. She didn't know she was placing me in a position to abused, as a single parent she was doing the best she could. Shall I carry that guilt as well? The point I'm trying to get at here is that all of the people sat in their ivory towers thinking its a simple "just say no" equation needs to look outside of themselves . It's very easy to see the world as black and white when you've grown up in an environment devoid of tumultuousness. Before you comment stupid shit, regardless of whether or not you feel justified in your close minded beliefs. Remember the world is grey. Everything is nuanced. Outside of science what is objective truth? nonexistent.
well said man. hope your doing well

Thank god he roasted Jamie. I hate that fucker. Stick it to em jake the snake.
It's amazing how Jake can be talking about dark disturbing real shit one second, then has me dying laughing the next. What a compelling storyteller. Get this man a fn podcast!
It's why he was such a great wrestler, such a compelling talker.
That's why he's one of the best minds in the history of the business. He knows how to tell a compelling story; with or without words.
Facts
Has a cool comedy show tour.
"The ole snake in the ass trick" 🐍😂😂😂
10:00 like how he said that, “probably wouldn’t of beat that one, in fact yeah I would’ve”
I haven’t watched a podcast over 1 hour in its entirety in over 5 years. I was literally glued to my computer screen listening to Jake. This man is amazing
Agreed
Bro just use your phone and play the podcast while doing something productive. Taking notes... washing dishes... jogging on a treadmill...
Agreed
Probably the very best interview ever on Rogan. I'm like you - can often only listen to about 40 mins of a podcast (or in chunks) but this..... Start to finish and could not take my hears away. Fair fucks to Jake and ALL hail DDP. The man is literally a verifiable life saver
Hope one day he gets Taker or Stone Cold on the show 🤞🤞
Undertaker is dead
@@marshalledmundson4851 fuk you in the hole you came from
Stone cold will be a good choice, though undertaker might not be as easy
If he got Taker I’d pay to see it
Watch hot ones with stone cold
Got a lot of respect for Jake's honesty and his recovery. He's a bit of inspiration in a way. To go through all the shit he's been through and to actually come back from it is nothing short of a miracle really. I hope he's mentally at peace now, stay safe and healthy Jake.
Hes from my hometown. Gainesville Texas. He used to smoke crack with my aunt lol. That's how I met him. My aunt lived next door to me and my grandparents and I went over there to meet him and he gave me an autographed picture of him and the big python. Later on she told me they were smoking crack together lmao. Crazy.
Normal thing to talk to your aunt about... smoking crack
@@kanelfc98 that's Texas I guess? I'm from Canada I'm confused.
Fat Nick I’m from England and it’s certainly something one would keep to myself (said one in that context just to prove my Englishness)
K H English level 100 lol
From Ohio, that is typically something you would keep to yourself. Can confirm, I am crack.
Just wanted to share the hope by saying I'm clean and sober 30 years last August.
Ive been off heroin for 8
That's amazing. Congratulations
@@jedimastergodby9829 Congratulations on your success. I'm currently attempting to kick the opiate habit so I understand how amazing your success is.
proud of you sir!
Congratulations!
I love that Tony and Joe knew to just let Jake go, he's got some crazy life experience and wisdom and stories. One of my favorite podcasts ever
Its not that he just HAS the stories to tell, Jake the snake is an incredible story teller. The descriptions, delivery, and the humour. Entertaining interview!
Jake does the BEST impression of Macho Man 😂🤣
His voice is naturally not much different really
His impression was believable while his attempt seemed effortless. Pretty good
The best podcast I’ve ever seen hands down.
nah there are better ones look up "patrice oneal opie and anthony", the hollywood/hollyweird rant is a good one and the conspiracy theories with patrice is a good one too, theres many others as well
Elon musk for me was best
on par with DDP one
There are tons of awesome podcasts from Joe, But this is riveting.
