Evan (Michael Cera) and Seth (Jonah Hill) run into Becca and Jules (Emma Stone) at the mall the day after the big party.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Operating under the assumption that by procuring alcohol for an upcoming party they will finally be able to break their longstanding losing streak with the fairer sex, socially inept high school seniors Evan (Michael Cera) and Seth (Jonah Hill) set out to secure the adult beverages that could get them off of the geek list before they even attend college orientation. Evan is a bright young student whose outward sweetness belies his suffocating fear of heading off to college without his lifelong best friend Seth -- a hormone-driven mischief-maker who wasn't accepted to the same school as Evan. But Evan and Seth both know that college is a place of personal reinvention, and that if they are able to make that first leap together they will have forged a bond powerful enough to last a lifetime. Meanwhile, Evan and Seth's friend Fogell (Christopher Mintz-Plasse) acquires a hastily rendered fake I.D. that instantly endears him to a pair of truly irresponsible cops (Bill Hader and Seth Rogen). Penned by co-star Rogen in collaboration with former Da Ali G Show co-writer Evan Goldberg, the semi-autobiographical SuperBad was produced by Judd Apatow and directed by Greg Mottola -- who previously helmed episodes of Undeclared and Arrested Development.

This ending was pretty much explaining how their long attached friendship had to come to an end. Not in a sense where they wont be friends but in a sense where they need to move on from being together all the time. And what best way to do that than with a girl for each of them. Not goodbye. More like "ill see you later and tell
me how it went"

One thing I love about this movie is how neither Seth nor Evan lose their virginities, because that isn't what the story is _really_ about. It would've been easy to have them get laid and make that the coming of age moment, but instead they chose to tell a story about growing up and drifting apart from your childhood friends. As someone who's had a few really close friendships come to an end over the years, this ending hit me in all the right ways.

I have always liked the look Emma Stone gives Jonah Hill after he admits he acted like an asshole. It conveys that he still has a chance with her but he is going to have to work for it. Her kind of guilting him into buying her cover up nails it home.

Jules was the mvp here. You can tell that Becka and Evan are really into each other, and Seth doesn't quite get it. So she's like, "Hey, come hang with me... let them go shop together." It was that little bit where she widens her eyes at Seth like, dude take the hint. And props to Seth for going along with it.
There's also points earlier in the movie where Evan doesn't pick up on signals that she is giving him. They both like each other but neither is confident enough to do anything about it
i swear I never felt so identified by a movie as when I first watched this. It makes me teary eyed seeing this again
This ending is so good because they lost what they had in the beginning(their friendship) but got what they wanted in the beginning (to get with the girls they liked)

Sometimes no matter how hard you try to avoid it, friends just drift apart eventually, but it’s ok cuz at the end of the day we always remember those special moments.

Bittersweet ending because it captured the moment 2 best friends part ways. Something almost all of us can relate too.
Superbad is a timeless classic and is probably one of the best teen movies
I like it, definitely, but it's nothing compared to John Hughes films. Breakfast club is ridiculous. The 80s nailed it. I like Superbad better than American Pie though; I thought the acting was better and more authentic.
Can't believe Emma Stone went from this to winning an Oscar. What an amazing strive. Same with Jonah.

Man this ending is so bittersweet and lowkey sad now that I’ve been out of high school for a long time. This is so real and probably very relatable for most of us.
this final scene is perfect. captures everything. watched it 1st time just before i went to college. and it really hit hard. gave u a sudden realization of what we gonna left behind and the not so distant future that'll lies ahead. Going to be 33 this year, and just watched it again, thank you for the memories, Superbad. Timeless classic.
