Straight Tail Cessna Fuel Tank Removal
On my way to fly to work and noticed all the fuel I put in a few days earlier had leaked out. So I removed the tank and went to work finding the leak. I was pretty surprised at the outcome.
I flew that plane to Oshkosh in 2015. We got the Lindy award.
I like your "170C"! This was very helpful in diagnosing a potential issue on a 170B fuel tank. Thank you!
Your going to be a massive channel!! 👍 Great production value; camera work, B roll, choice of music, great personality and interesting topics, and love your wife’s humor! Subscribed!! 👍👍
Hey Thanks! I really Appreciate that!
@@JimBilton your editing is amazing! Some seriously good skills, I watch a lot of aviation content and dabble myself, you’ve got great flow and storytelling skills. Bravo brother!!
Thanks same to you! You take some good shots yourself. It’s beautiful out there! Subscribed!
Betttt, been waiting for another video of the 172🔥
Cutting the paint around the screw head (small sharp blade) can minimize the damage to your nice paint job. Nice video, I'll look for your reinstall video.
Whifferdill.... Is that like kerfuffle? Or brouhaha? Or wheezerdeezer? I like it either way.
That is a very handsome airplane. It is a very desirable airframe too. Congratulation on being chosen to be its new caretaker. Since you found a leak on one side, what are your chances of finding something amiss on the other side? I would change the pads under the tanks for sure at the minimum. If one is leaking, the other probably is close behind.
Thanks Lynn. I thought about that but the leak on the right tank ended up being a pinhole on the weld seam, bit of an anomaly. If it were a seal that went bad or something of that nature I would definitely pull the other tank and reseal. But in this case I tend to lean toward "if it ain't broke don't fix it" mentality.
