- Case 291: David Pauley, Ralph Geiger & Timothy Kern
In October of 2011, an advertisement was posted on the website Craigslist. It read: Wanted: Caretaker For Farm. Simply watch over a 688 acre patch of hilly farmland and feed a few cows. You get 300 a week and a nice 2 bedroom trailer. Someone older and single preferred but will consider all. Relocation a must. You must have a clean record and be trustworthy-this is a permanent position.

Being single doesn't mean you are without family, nor unloved.
Exactly! But that’s what a lot of people mistakenly brlieve.
How sweet
@@rashone2879 yes bcause they teach us that way ...
Yes but if you're a captive to your past, there's doubt you'll make or have connections with anyone.
When I heard about David and his best friend talking 50 times a day? Wow! And then how be packed his toy model train... oh my heart 😢 also, the struggling father Timothy who did his best to see his sons no matter what, ugh! Murdered for 5 measly dollars!? Ralph sounded like an amazing friend and mentor. I'm so sorry this happened, and I send my deepest condolences to their families❤
I am one of the unfortunate who have to work on weekends. Over the years Casefile and another podcast that publishes on Sundays make it bearable for me.
Thank you ❤
Am I wrong to guess Crime Weekly is the Sunday one? If not, totally worth to adding to the repertoire
@jamiemariej98 Thanks for recommendation, I'll check that :)
The second one is a local one, well the Author is my local but lives in Canada. Records in Polish, so I guess I can't recommend.
From English language podcast I'm a fan of True Crime Brewery, but they don't release that regularly, which is a shame.
I believe Truly Criminal also publishes on Saturday, would recommend it
@@PemelopeableSounds good, I like such soothing narrating.
I used to go for Unresolved too, but unfortunately the Author ceased releasing. It was very similar in style and quality to Casefile.
@@Anna-nr3sh Thank you, will check this one out in turn
Exceptional presentation!! Thank you for the work you do in preparing the Casefile stories!
How dare this evil person assume nobody would miss these men 💔
I must say your telling of the stories is so masterful and tense, I always google the stories to know the ultimate outcome. It's like reading a book you're engrossed in and can't put down. The way you build the tension and masterfully weave the storyline so it's not always obvious as to who did it or finality of the case is unparalleled in true crime.
you should hear the ones he did on the zodiac and ear-ons (golden state killer) they are some of his best
This story breaks my heart. One of my best friends has been in David's before offer situation. He would be very vulnerable. We'd never know what happened to him. Thankfully, he's in a much better place now, being treated well. May David rest in peace.
These poor trusting unsuspecting men. Only one consiliation is they died suddenly and had no idea what was about to happen. May they rest in peace and sympathy to their families 😢
1:07:44 never underestimate the power of friendship, family ties, and love ☹️
From born again straight to hell. Chilling, again by casefile.
I've never met a "born again" that wasn't just trying to hide behind religion. Not saying that they don't exist. Just never met one.
Thank you CaseFiles....Great as always😊
Ironically, these people were caught because they missed one of the men they thought no one would miss.
Casefile is the 💣 !!
Thanks Casefile.... this sounds like a horror movie 😳😥
A truly Wicked case. N'er heard of it, so very much thanks for the research the team put in to it!
Casefile rules the true crime world, always excellent, no nonsense content. Thank you to all at Casefile that make it happen!
So good. Thanks CASEFILE.
I found this channel a few weeks ago and I’ve already almost watched the entire catalogue. Even though it’s literally hundreds of hours 😢
That kid was dumb as shit for not taking the deal. But considering what he got up to - my sympathy for him is limited.
Thanks Matey 👍
Aww, a new Episode of Casefile presents!!
My favorite narrator is back
Every Saturday.... They do other projects too, like the recent ones with Olivia
@@MiMiiViVi no thank you mate
I was about to get up.....changed my mind 😅❤
Same...coffee, bed and casefiles. What a way to start the weekend!
Excellent!
As a local, I'm obligated to fulfill my duty to inform you that although it is spelled Nor-folk, it is actually pronounced Nor-fukk. No one knows why.
👍tnxs explaining :)
I grew up in Newport News.
A lot of locals actually pronounce it "Naw-fukk" or "Naw-fick", especially back in the 80s-90s.
lol
Nor-fukk is how it's namesake in England is pronounced. The pronunciation is likely a remnant of the Norse, given that Norfolk was still under the danelaw long after the rest of England was colonised by anglo-saxons.
@polecatgander8282 THANK YOU. I got Into a discussion about this with some friends earlier and they were all convinced it was because of the southern accent that we all can't seem to shake. But I have friends in the UK too and I've heard them pronounce it almost exactly the same. I can't wait to show my traitorous reb friends your Comment.
(I love/hate how that works on 2 different levels. Rofl)
Yay, New stuff!! Hello 🙂
Yay! New content!!!
every Saturday
really great presentation! so horrible... hope he gets his sentence soon!!! 😢
casefile the BEST. writer ' producer and narrator are wicked!!!
A crime I’ve never heard of - a great way to make the ironing go quickly !
I must stop looking at the comments before listening to the podcast
The juxtaposition... the victim prays for a job. The murderer preys on vulnerable men and then prays after the deed. Evil
This is such a very sad story.
Scam artist is how bogans dad described Beasley.
There is another case like this one, involving bank accounts and buying cattle. Anyone ever heard of this one?
Casefile......another beautifully presented true, tale of horror!!!!
Well researched and narrated, ive no sympathy for Brogan, many of us have traumatic past's
Those poor Men, my heart goes out to them, and there loved ones ❤
This would legit make a badass movie
The craziest part of this is that the author of the ad called it a "Dream Job" and it's working on a damn farm (in Ohio, at that)
I forgot it was Saturday I was watching England
thank
Targeting vulnerable people is despicable. I knew this case and knew I shouldn't watch this ☹️
Nothing short of evil.
*Very disturbing.*
6th!
Chris x David
any ties to Jack family disappearance ?
Preachwr? Just to get his evil hands on church funds and property .
I've not heard this one yet
What is a 22 gauge semi automatic pistol?
I've heard the same mistake in another episode, using "gauge" instead of "caliber"; but I give them a pass for being Aussies. 😉
I swear Casefile has done this episode already?
I know some other big true crime channels have.
I had that feeling, too. But I watch a lot of other true crime channels and I might be wrong and heard it somewhere else 🤔
there was one somewhat similar of shooting victims in the woods .. a backpacking couple i think
@MiMiiViVi umm no, not the same thing. I heard this case before somewhere. Not the one killing couples or two female groups that hike in the Australian outback. I know he made that too and was a two or three part series.
I haven’t missed a single episode. They’ve never done this case before.
37:58 Yeah, okay 👍 Lol! I don't think this guy is the example you're looking for.
Exiting ;) I wonder why nobody tried to call up Jack as soon as police found the emails, talked with the wounded victim, or talked with Deborah. The wounded victim would have known Jacks number...!???
The narrator said at one point that he had multiple phones used only for that reason, and of which he got rid of after.
@@loredanadincu4300 Yes right - I noticed that after I wrote my first comment ;)
Oh dear topic covered b4. Anyway morning world frm 🇬🇧😎🙏👊
i dont think so
Wait this was already covered
1st! 😎
Is there a prize? 😊
Badass!
@@Sacred.Wisdom depends? You got a beard? Lol. Jk jk 🤘🏻🇺🇸💚
Best AI Narrator in the business.
He’s not AI. I don’t know why you keep claiming this. Go listen to the many episodes where he does a number of different (non narrator-voice) ad reads. Listen to interviews he’s done on Casefile Presents’ other supplemental podcasts. If you know this and are just joking, it’s odd that you like to make the same joke over and over again.
first
This is an overused story. Saw the title and knew it is going to be that Craigslist story. 😢
I have heard some of these stories too, but Casefile has a different method of telling them. So I’ve listened anyway.
Well I'd never heard it before, but I live in 🇬🇧
Do you want people to commit more interesting crime for you
I've not heard it either
I've never heard of it. I thought it was going to be a different case.
Let Love Be Thy Light. Gospel of Mormon.
The one of few on you tube that episode is running for more then 1 hour👍👍🤎
