Batman VS X-Men! The Best Animated Series!
Top 10 Best Batman Protrayals of All Time!
Holmes of course
Batman of cource
Batman actually met Holmes in a past Batman comic- I think Batman bowed to Holmes as the World's Greatest Detective.
Thing is batman got technology. Sherlock with mind and logical. Sherlock solved many unsolved cases before many tech were invented. Still he gets the job done. Sherlock the greatest detective.
And now we know that a lot of cases similar to Sherlock's IRL were wrong and we needed technology decades after to know the real truth... Batman wins ✌️
@@baldGUYYY Sherlock never wrong mate. All evidence leads to the murderer. Yeah batman got huge advantage. Still. Sherlock the best though cause he solved unsolved murder and mystery without tech. So sherlock won in old times but Braman wins in modern times.
And besides batman doesn't always need technology to solve crimes
Nice try tho. Holmes used the tech of his time
Sherlock Holmes is lot different from batman and sherlock Holmes is the best :D
Shouldn't the title of "best detective" go to the character who actually uses detective abilities to solve crimes? Instead, they padded the list with things like "has more money" and "has fewer weaknesses" in order to swing the results to Batman.
And even then, they had to bias the results sometimes. Batman's on good terms with Gordon, but usually not with other police, and has often been the target of a city-wide manhunt in which every cop except Gordon is trying to arrest him. That seems worse than occasional acerbic comments to several members of Scotland Yard.
But if they'd ruled that Sherlock got along better with police, then I'm sure that they'd have simply added some more irrelevant criteria such as "pointier ears" and "better logo" to swing it back to Batman.
The fact is, Batman really doesn't use detective abilities very often. He's more inclined to beat or scare info out of a suspect (fictional torture always works), or use high-tech gadgets to give him the solution, than actually use deductive skills. Whereas Sherlock solves almost all his cases with his mind. Batman is more exciting to read/watch, but I really have to give the "best detective" award to Sherlock. (And in the comics, I give the "best detective" award to Detective Chimp.)
A1
yeah ngl I'm a batman fan, but this video definitely goes to sherlock
I only disagree with one statement. Holmes is more exciting to read or watch for me. Or maybe its a draw
Sherlock Holmes and Batman did have an Epic Rap Battle of History with each other
This is the second vid from watch MOJO that used erb match ups.
epic
*grunted voice* : Nice hat- DORK. You look like a duck!
Batman trained to be well rounded. He is great at combat, being a detective, stealth, using swords, ect. But he is not the best in the world.
Batman himself admitted that Cyborg was a better hacker than him and that Constantine was a better detective than he was.
Batman is proficient at being a detective, but Sherlock Holmes has dedicated his life to only detective work. Plus he doesn't have Batman's computers or gadgets to help himself. Sherlock Holmes just uses his brains
where did batman say Constantine was a better detective?
@@UnroyalYeet I was about to ask the exact same thing
Batman said that Konstantin plans better , but Batman is the best detective
Solving crimes = Sherlock
Solving problems = Batman
No shot both go to Sherlock, the dude deduced the existence or God from a vase of flowers
@@julianthebagel2299 how did he do that?
@@spankosaurusHe's exaggerating but read "The Naval Treaty".
Love that they are finally putting emphasis on Batman's detective skills in the new movie.
Batman has met Sherlock Holmes before and has openly admitted that Holmes is the better detective.
And Holmes said the same about Batman. Holmes also says his brother Mycroft is better at deducing but that doesnt make it true.
I have to say, batman has proven to be just as effective a detective without his vast fortune and tech. And the sign of a great detective is someone who uses all available resources to solve the crime
The heck , the sign of great detective is that someone who can even use less resources under difficult circumstances to solve a problem
Well we all know that no one can beat Sherlock in this category... No one can outrun him in detective skills.
Sherlock Holmes, of course, Miss Rebecca. He’s been a literary icon well before Batman. And even prior to Batman’s creation, he’s already an influence on other literary characters.
Lester Dent, creator of Doc Savage, who was also a major inspiration and influence on Superman noted he combined Tarzan’s towering physique, Sherlock Holmes’ deductive reasoning, Craig Kennedy’s scientific training and Abraham Lincoln’s Christlisness ‘and rolled ‘em into one to get Doc Savage’.
Yeah... But he's still a weak addict, so Batman wins ✌️
@@baldGUYYY Weak addict??! I don't think you have read any of his adventures..... He uses drugs to enhance his thinking, to concentrate his mind.... I am not trying to be disrespectful but Holmes would wreck Batman in a 1v1 (not fists but brains ofc) He can deduce a person's history from his handwriting.
@@baldGUYYY As a detective, no, batman is depressed half of the time
Well said. You know your Holmes; Dr. Watson himself disapproved of Sherlock’s indulgence of it, but knew it helped sharpen his mind during the investigation of a case.
@@baldGUYYY Weak addict?? Lmao. It's like "tell me you have no idea about Sherlock without telling me the same"
Batman is awesome. I love his character more than Sherlock. But about detective skills?? Nope. Batman doesn't even come close. If Sherlock saw Bruce Wayne he would simply deduce that he is the Batman
As a fan of Sherlock and batman being one of my favourite childhood superhero,
This is how I imagine their meeting going
Batman- I have the high ground now
Sherlock- ( smirks ) NoT aS HiGh aS Me
Batman- What?
Sherlock- DRUGS!!!
Batman- What?
Sherlock-wHaT?
Bader's Batman: "You're the World's Greatest Detective"
Sherlock Holmes: "Indeed"
Is that in “Batman: The Brave And The Bold”?
@@franciscs1604 Yes
I was hoping someone would have brought this up. They are both great, and if there were a real life of both, Bruce would acknowledge Sherlock as an inspiration. In the same way that rappers pay homage to the ones before them.
I honestly laughed out loud when they brought up "Financial Resources".
“You say Sherlock Holmes, everyones like Huh What??. You yell Batman...we got a panic on our hands in Gotham City..”
Jaws reference. 💯💯💯💯💯
I would love to see a animated movie between those two
I think they meet in Batman: Brave and the Bold but could be wrong
That's a good show too. Unfortunately he met with the question. Which he's also a very good detective as well and definitely nothing against him. I love the teamwork between the Batman and the question
@@olofman300
Yeah, they did meet in an episode in that show!
@@lganeshan86
The “question”…? Ahhh, okay.
I can also recommend Gotham by gaslight. Sherlock Holmes is not in it but the whole movie is based on that whole english victorian era and Jack the Ripper etc are in it
Fun fact: Bruce Wayne/Batman’s IQ is 192, a fictional hero character who’s a bit more intelligent than the famous Albert Einstein, his own IQ went from 160 to 190.
well I can write a character that has 1000 IQ....c",)
@@giocanlas195 shikamaru for example
It is fictional.. The writer can write any number on IQ. The better way to judge is "measure the writers' IQ in stead"
Just saying but I just found out that Sherlock Holmes had an IQ of 190.
I think Batman's IQ is way higher than 192, 200+ I think
To be fair about Batman, he is only sometimes written by an author who withholds vital information to make him seem smarter.
*malds in The Speckled Band*
Batman also has sever trust issues. That is a pretty big weakness. Sherlock also has this but not to nearly the same level.
Id argue that Sherlock has way bigger trust issues (not to mention an affinity of abusing drugs and narcotics) and is much more unpredictable than Batman.
@@alolandonaldtrump8368he trusts Watson though
Sherlock Holmes without a doubt. He doesn't necessarily need any equipment for the cases for example or relies on being rich.
This is why batman was bs on detective, especially the video game
And i can show you IRL cases similar to Sherlock's that got debunked and freed innocent imprisoned people thx to technology... Batman wins ✌️
Batman with his teach and money outperform Sherlock. Based on pure intelligence and problem solving ability Sherlock wins easily
Love Batman for his extreme intelligence, but Sherlock Holmes is legendary in this comparison. Can't go wrong with either guy.
It would be interesting to compare Sherlock Holmes to Hercule Poirot instead, since the both really only with their skills and not technologies.
Bill Finger’s classic comic book hero creation Bruce Wayne/Batman was inspired by Sherlock Holmes, Zorro, Doc Savage and the Shadow.
Don't forget Dracula.
Was about to post the same thing.
And yet Batman is more popular than all of those guys lol. Everyone was inspired by something Holmes was inspired by crime stories and noir like tales.
@@MKF30 You think Sherlock Holmes is not as popular as Batman?! Sherlock Holmes is one of the most popular fictional character to ever exist, so is Batman.
@RabbitinaSnowStorm, I never said Holmes wasn't popular I just said he's not AS popular as Batman. Dude it's freaking Batman lol the guys been popular for decades, in more media and mediums than I can count and arguably DC's most popular the past 30 years at least. He's considered top 3 comic character in terms of popularity easily, and I have never personally met anyone who doesn't know who Batman is IRL or online. Now Sherlock I've met a few(not many but a few) but Batman never met one person who didn't now who he is.
Not saying Sherlock is bad or anything so no worries.
Sherlock Holmes for sure
Sherlock for this batman. But Arkham Batman solves mysteries in one night so
Arkham Batman >>>
0:00 everyone in Black Friday when they want to buy the ps5 (background)
I love Batman. He's my favorite hero of all time. With that being said, I got to give it to Holmes. It's a close match though.
That was a unfair win for Batman/Bruce Wayne , especially because you made his money part of it ,that he did not Earn himself but Inherited , and I would give homes points for doing a lot more with less.
Holmes is smart but Batmans overall smarter considering he's outsmarted high-end multiversal cosmic beings that casually destroys universes as well as Darkseid, Lex etc. Also, while Sherlock is smart his enemy Moriarity matches him easily and his own brother is smarter than Sherlock. In DCU, very few if any can match Batman in that area...
this statement doesnt really make much sense i mean, thats just talking from a superhero perspective, and also, he usually wins against those with tech help or depending on who writes the comic xD because usually lex is portrayed as smarter
And all of that is just scratching the surface with batman's scientific feats.
@@FriendlyBatDoom Exactly lol he's insane in the books
@@Hiccup_NSK It makes perfect sense because the books are the main source material and Lex supposedly is smarter yet Batman snd Superman have outsmarted him so ask yourself who's smarter again? Lex is a villain like doom but they but bad guys underestimate the hero more times than not thus why they lose.
@@MKF30 Batman has plot armor
Pretty much made him a winner the moment you made money a category 😂
Suggestion: Top 10 Less Known, Underrated Comic Book Heroes Before Superman.
@killwill83
Don’t forget Ogon Bat from Japan who came out in 1931 or 1932.
Holmes has a better relationship with Scotland Yard than the Bat has with the Gotham City Police Department . Although probably a weakness, I think that point was given to the wrong detective.
Well if Batman: The Brave and the Bold is any indicator, Batman conceded that title to Holmes when they teamed up.
Yeah, I remember that episode.
Sherlock Holmes after seeing 'The Batman':
Look what they need to mimic just a fraction of my power
It's hard to choose. Both are genius.
You chose in another comment.
Suggestion: Top 20 vigilantes who are inspired by the Batman.
Sherlock Holmes didn't know that the Earth went around the sun.
Sherlock isn't that old the first book was written in the late 1880's and human figured out the earth went around the sun in 1500's
@@declanodea9904 I know this. It's canon in the books and the show that Sherlock purposefully doesn't know basic things like the Earth going around the sun to make room for the details that he does know.
But he did know the Van Buren supernova only occurred in 1859.
Team sherlock for the win! ♥️😊♥️😊♥️
“Anderson don’t talk out okay you lower the iq of the whole street,” lmaooooooo well damn I felt that strange😂😂😂😂😂
Tony Stark and Stephen Strange: the Sherlock Holmes
Oh yeah, I never noticed that
I don't think you should compare them, they're detectives, but they’re very different
Yea true. It’s kinda unfair
@@Kashmoneygodzilla
Agreed.
But at least they both teamed up in
“Batman: The Brave And The Bold”. So, I guess that’s a… I don’t even know what to call it.
Honestly, I really ❤️ all versions of the Batman.
Yeah, but mine are Robert Pattinson and Kevin Conroy (pretty much all his versions).
I think of Batman as more of a superhero than a detective, so I expected Sherlock to be the best here.
None Holmes was carried by Watson and Batman was just a creepy man in a Halloween suit
The batman has alot for weakness thou,he is extremely flawed aswell
And Holmes doesnt?
Batman for the simple reason that he has access to more advanced technology and scientific advances since Sherlock Holmes' time.
It's like asking who's a better marksman; Someone with a rifled musket 2 centuries ago or someone with a bolt-action sniper rifle today.
We need a crossover with these two
Well, we already got a bit of that in the animated Batman series,
“Batman: The Brave And The Bold”.
@@franciscs1604 Trials of the Demon!
@@seanpatrickcain2
Ah yes, that’s the title. Thank you!
In recent times Robert Downey Jr and Benedict Cumberbatch's Sherlock Holmes characters did way more detective work than Batman ever did in his.
keep in mind batman has to outsmart super powered villains snd mega minds
Batman fights crime all night
@@william8516 Exactly lol and Holmes isn't even the smartest in his universe, Moriarity matches his intelligence and Sherlock's brother is smarter than he is....but Batman in DCU the only person who can remotely match him is Lex who he's outsmarted. Even Superman has been quoted to say "the most dangerous man/human on Earth is Batman" considering the villains Clark has faced including Lex that's saying something lol
If you go by the precedent that "Epic Rap Battles of History" set.. Sherlock Holmes.
If you take everything else into account.. Sherlock Holmes.
Catwoman is essentially the Irene Adler of the Batman comics, as well as other Batman related media.
Bella Reál : Your family has a history of philanthropy, but as far I as I'm concerned you're not doing anything.
Me : Yeah, nothing except putting his life on the line every single night
Batman didn’t use a computer to solve crimes in stories like Gotham By Gaslight, The Long Halloween or Detective Comics #27. In these stories, he pretty much did the same things Sherlock would have done.
Ah....do we already have an ERB version of this?
It's Sherlock, hands down.
Now imagine them working together.
The crossover we want and we need.
as a second movie. Holmes and Batman vs Moriarty. The first movie should be Holmes vs Batman. Batman comes to England to vigilante around and Mycroft (per order of the Queen) hires Sherlock to take Batman down.
Sherlock Holmes hands down the best
From the thumbnail I thought it was Benedict cumberbunch as the Mad Hatter for the Batman 2. I was like yes please!!
Did Batman just got points because he has money and technology ?? The video should have named "Who is better at solving crimes". This was an easy win got Sherlock. CANNOT BE MORE DISAPPOINTED !
One of these fictional characters have inspired true detectives and have inspired them to use and adopt several of his tics... such as quarantining crime scenes, taking in foreign scents, thorough examination of the corpse... and that man doesn't need a mask. Sorry, Holmes wins imo.
Batman weaknesses is the bat family. He went ballistic for jason todd
I would be interested in seeing a video from you guys called "Tony Soprano vs Walter White: Who's the better TV Antihero?"
I think all of Batman's strengths are really weaknesses when deciding how good of a detective he is. His technology, his help from Wilfred, his tools and technology, etc... etc... all make him a worse detective, not a better one. I'm no Sherlock Holmes fan, but I think he's a better detective in every way compared to Batman. I'm surprised these two would even be compared. (I think they gave Batman points just so they didn't piss too many people off. If it was me it would be 5 to 0 Holmes.)
Batman and Sherlock would team up everytime in order to stop evil I fucking love the brave and the bold episode that they do together
Batman in stupid gravily voice: "Grumble grumble grumble...I wish I was Sherlock"
If it is for detective work alone as you plainly put it at the start of this video there is no reason to compare other aspects of who these two are, Batman is nothing without money Sherlock Holmes had no money yet still done a better job.
I say Bruce Wayne. I've just always seen him as his greatest strength is his Intellect.
Suggestion: black Adam vs apocalypse
4:28 Well that's the dumbest move Batman's ever done. He's put his own company logo on his shoe!
I think both of them would appreciate each others work
Batman was based off of Sherlock Holmes and other heroes like zorro. And remember that he was created and brought into comics before phones were even invented. As technology evolved the comics did to. (40's) Batman wins
I hope Warner Brothers make a crossover animated movie for a Sherlock Holmes and Batman Team up.
A wonderful detective story
What about Batman's emotional weaknesses? His childhood trauma and the fear of losing people closest to him?
You should have compared their partners too, Dr. John Watson vs. Robin.
Only thing I might add would be there ERB rap battle batman vs Sherlock Holmes
Holmes doesn't have a computer in the stories (but you keep using Sherlock as a reference and he'd be lost without his smartphone). But he famously has an index card system, dossiers on every criminal in London and stacks of newspapers going back 10 years.
He goes out of his way not to learn anything that might push relevant information about crime out of his brain. So his general knowledge isn't even as diverse is an elementary school child.
And you keep saying "in the comics". In the comics Bruce has organized Charities for victims of violent crimes. He's improved Gotham's infrastructure where he can. But Wayne is only one of five families that owns the majority of Gotham City. So his ability to improve the slums and numerous abandoned buildings is limited.
He helps finance the police and campaigns of politicians who actually care about the people of Gotham. His corporate Empire has created thousands of jobs. Especially for ex-cons so they don't become repeat offenders.
So I'm not entirely sure which Comics you claim to be reading.
You’re telling me the Batmans wouldn’t have tried to find out what exactly the murder weapon is? He had to have some random cop tell him LOL
(6:57)with how Gotham is even if Bruce Wayne donated money to help the people it would just b used by the mob like v have seen many times as well as recently in THE BATMAN movie with the renewal fund so I wouldn't blame him for that
A better comparison would be Holmes vs Mr Murdock
I feel like you manufactured Batman to be the winner by selecting "financial resources" as a category. In what other matchup of fictional detectives would that category have ever been considered?
Thing is even Batman needs his money to do what he does. Sherlock Holmes doesn’t.
You forgot one of his biggest and most obvious weaknesses batman has, his parents death, and the fear of losing loved ones and people close to him.
Both are good, they're badass fighters with brilliant minds and companions, so there's no competition between the two of them .
"I thought some random perp would be no match for the world's greatest detective. No wait, that's BATMAN! And your not Batman. Are you? And you will NEVER BE BATMAN!"
now I want Batman vs Sherlock movie
Did you spend the time to understand what you were hiring. QOL is very different in parts of the world. With that being said, you paid with more than money.
batman and the league once encountered a dead body with a cause of death which was a gunshotm but no entry or exit wound, batman instantly dedueced the bullet passed through time, along with other feats such as time gauging events based on sight and materisl involved in crimes based on just its surroundings regardless of the rubble left behind along with every known weakness ini the body and each nerve point for combat and is also known to use these nerve points which look like random lucky hits incase he gets attacked when he is without the suit in the public as showcased in batman 2011, justice league comics along with his intelligence in standalone one shot comics, batman leagues ahead and its not close.
How Elementary's version of Sherlock isn't even considered is a big red flag here.
Jeremy Brett as Sherlock will never be equated
Imagine a movie with batman and Sherlock Holmes brooo mind blown
Well, let’s see who can investigate the theft of the Pink Panther first, besides Chief Inspector Clouseau.
Strength and fighting skills were mentioned/shown but not compared. An important category when fighting crime. Batman obviously a clear winner since he is known as the strongest human on earth (no powers) and he has mastered every martial arts and fighting style.

Also, I love the crap out of both characters, but was kind of hoping holmes would win
In The Batman movie it took a low level police officer to figure out Riddler's biggest clue.
With the help of the worlds greatest detective
But in the original novels, we can see that Sherlock earns so much.
