    The AMOLED screen on the OnePlus 6 comes in at 6.28 inches, with a resolution of 2280 x 1080 pixels. It’s a solid resolution for a phone in $500 range. Much of what makes the OnePlus 6 feel extra special is the completely new build and design. It’s now made almost completely of glass, which curves around the rear and feels fantastic. There’s a rim of metal sandwiched between the glass to add some rigidity.

    Thank you for the video! I managed to broke the vibrator controller but it was reparable 😁. At 5:47, shouldn't you put the white signal cable first, since black cable was on top? There is also a small contact area in the white cable, which should go to it's place at the bottom of the signal cable "track".

    (I was able to slide the motherboard left after prying the left side up but clearly that's the unsafe way. Best way is to remove the SIM tray so you can pry the motherboard straight up.)

    • @EricWitrigs
      @EricWitrigs  Před 6 lety +3

      Replacing a screen with the frame is much easier. What you need to do is just putting all the parts onto it, like motherboard , loudspeaker, battery, camera, etc. If you get a screen without frame, you need to separate the metal frame of you phone with the broken screen, which is a tough work.

    Thanks for such a detailed and easy to follow instruction video! there was only one screw not mentioned that held the motherboard down, but I found it without issue.
    I have a question about the frequent warnings re "the vibrator controller is installed on the motherboard and can easily get broken". Is this for the Alert Slider? I was very careful and did not touch that thing, yet when I reassembled the phone, the slider was stuck in the down position. After reading other forum posts that said it was often known to be stiff at first, I was able to get it to move. However, the phone remains in Silent mode and there is no notification (nothing at all happens) when I slide the alert slider up and down. I am not sure if this is related to my screen repair, or if it is a defect I didn't notice before. Help?

    • @Oscar-if6lq
      @Oscar-if6lq Před 4 lety +1

      In the end I found a guy who does microsoldering who reattached the antenna socket. Interestingly all the solder pads were intact, which he said suggests OnePlus never soldered the connector in properly in the first place, as if they had been properly soldered they would not come away cleanly and intact if the connector was ripped from the motherboard.

    Just so people are aware, DON'T buy a replacement screen off eBay... I spent $80 on one and it looks awful, it's not even AMOLED. Witrigs gets their screens from the same manufacturer as Oneplus.
