    Heh Guys, it's Steve from Featherlight Recording Studio and today it's the battle of the Mackie ProFX version three mixer boards. We put these two incredibly popular boards head to head to see if the compact size and weight of the ProFX6v3 will beat the larger, more advanced features of the ProFX10v3.
    Both these mixing boards offer compact size and industry standard Onyx Mic Preamps as well as 24Bit/192Khz USB recording via the built in 2x4 USB Audio Interface. This is unusual as the 2x4 interface gives you (2) completely independent sets of stereo audio streams from your computer allowing BOTH multitrack recording and Loopback functions.
    Both the Mackie ProFX10v3 and ProFX6v3 are well suited for live streaming, podcasting, studio recording, and live performance.

    Thanks for this comparison video! You presented enough actionable data for me to decide to purchase the ProFX10v3 over the 6v3. I am so happy with the 10v3 and am not looking back! Thanks again!

    I’m loving this video! I’ve got BOTH models and love them equally for different use. The ProFX6v3 when I’m DJing and the ProFX10v3 when I’m producing a Podcast

      Do you /can you use the the ProFX6v3 as a DJ interface with pre-cueing? (3-4 out to the mains, 1-2 to the headphones?)

    Great video and super informative! I have one of these in the mail and am game planning as to how I'm going to use run mains and a monitor as well as use the onboard effects. (Solo acoustic singer/songwriter gigs) I believe I'm going to try the control room out for the monitor. If that's no bueno I'm sure I can use the 1/4" main out and control the volume at the monitor. Any thoughts? Thanks!

    • @Featherlightstudio
      @Featherlightstudio  Před 2 lety +1

      The Control Room will work great as long as you realize it is a duplicate of the Mains so you won't have individual channel control like a dedicated monitor out. But, It WILL include the FX and give you a dedicated volume knob for your monitor.

    Hi Steve, as a vocalist, I want to use a wireless in-ear monitor system with my mixer. I would also like to have full control over the signal strenght sent to the in-ear monitor system. Would you suggest that I use the ProFx10V3 or ProFx12V3 mixer for this purpose, as I currenly own the ProFx6v3 but I am not sure that I can use the in-ear monitor system with the small mixer? Which one will give me proper control over the in-ear monitor system? Kind regards.

    • @Featherlightstudio
      @Featherlightstudio  Před rokem

      The biggest difference between the 10FX and the 12FX is the addition of a true Monitor buss on the 12FX. This would allow you to have total control over the monitor send ( in-ears ) and NOT have to sacrifice the FX send on the mixer to do it, like on the 10FX.

    Does these mixers have dedicated drivers like focusrite audio interfaces??

    • @Featherlightstudio
      @Featherlightstudio  Před 2 lety

      These are class compliant mixers so they don't require specialized drivers like the Focusrite products do. They are truly 'plug & play" and because they are mixers to begin with, all the functions are instantly available on the mixer surface without stepping through additional menus

    Great comparison was looking for a Livestream Mixer 12 channel which s better Mackie Profx12v3 or the Yamaha 12xu or the Sound Craft ?

    • @Featherlightstudio
      @Featherlightstudio  Před 2 lety +1

      'Better' is subjective as your needs will be different than others. But the biggest advantage of the Mackie ( if your using it with a computer ) is the fact that it has a true 2x4 audio interface and the proFX12v3 has a ton of channels if you need a lot of inputs. The Soundcraft 12FX has a true 4x4 audio interface and can switch which of those channels actually gets recorded to the computer, is much cheaper, but has much fewer channels than the Mackie. Depends on what you need more.

    Is it better than the Yamaha as i am planing to buy the 12 channel version of it

    • @Featherlightstudio
      @Featherlightstudio  Před 2 lety +2

      The Yamaha & Mackie 12 channel boards are very similar in design. But, the Yamaha only has a 2x2 audio interface whereas the Mackie has a true 2x4 audio interface and more XLR channel inputs.

    Can the 10 channel version be powered by a small 12v battery pack please? Many thanks

    • @Featherlightstudio
      @Featherlightstudio  Před 2 lety

      Not sure, as the power connector plug is specific to the mixer. Maybe somebody can chime in here with info on that? The DC connector output is 12v 2A with the + on the inside however, its a switching power supply, so the mixer may require more stable power than simple DC from a battery bank.

    • @10OZDuster
      @10OZDuster Před 3 měsíci

      Yes make sure the battery can handle 2amp constant discharge rate as thats whats required by the fx10 also the capacity according to how long you will use it for example a 10amp/hour rated battery is rated for 5 hour continuous use using the formula 10amp/hours divided by 2amp = 5hrs.
