Here's the longest video we've made for the channel yet! Folks seem divided on if they want long or short videos. Personally, we like both, so you'll probably see a mix in the future!

    More facts that fit here:
As with turtles, humpback whales often have barnacles stuck to their bodies.
When a humpback whale jumps completely out of the water, this is called a breach.
A literal ton of food can be in the stomach of a humpback whale at any given time.

The humpback whale (Megaptera novaeangliae) grows to 69 ft long, making it the fourth largest animal in the world, only the Blue Whale (Sibbaldius musculus) (80 ft long), Fin Whale (Balaenoptera physalus) (75 ft long), and Sei Whale (Rudolphius borealis) (72 ft long) are the ones larger than the humpback whale, interestingly, the blue whale is the closest living relative of the humpback whale, both are rorquals, rorquals are distinguished from other baleen whales by their gular pouches with grooves below them, in addition to their ram-feeding ability, which inflates their gular pouches.

Humpback Whale are AMAZING Parents. Mother and Calves are seen with a Bull known as an Escort. Escorts are mature humpbacks whales that tag along with a mother and her calf to help fend off predators. they do very little to help the mothers raise the calves. Instead they concentrate on keeping predators at bay and fending off other male humpbacks. Escort are not the Fathers to the calves but act like a surrogate

Yes, they are both rorquals, the Blue Whale (Sibbaldius musculus) and Humpback Whale (Megaptera novaeangeliae) are classified within the subfamily Megapterinae, which also contains the minke whales (genus Pterobalaena).
