    I'm excited to show you this new MIDI keyboard by Native Instruments. I'll cover a fair bit of my favorite features and give you a chance to hear what it sounds like, but we'll only scratch the surface of what these A-Series keyboards and integrated eco-system have to offer...
    Hopefully, this video gives you an idea of the possibilities and inspires you in your work.
    Thank you for your kind words and thank you for watching!

    I have a question. How come my m32 doesn’t light up like yours? I’m pretty sure I set it up correctly but after it powers on and lights up, almost all the lights on the top left along with the top right turn off. Also in my daw I can’t control the play/record functions through the keyboard

    Thank you for this! I wonder if you can help me solve an issue. I have Maschine Studio (not proficient yet), and just bought a NI Komplete Kontrol A61 to accompany it. Plugged it up, buttons all work fine, but I can’t get the keys to play. I know it’s got to be a simple setting within Maschine/software. I’ve tried everything I can think of within midi settings etc and cannot get keys to play for any of the A-H banks. The A61 and Maschine boxes are checked in the preferences. I think it’s a midi setting in each channel I’ve somehow gotten wrong. Any suggestions?

    Is A25 cubase integrated ? Please advice as I want to buy one very soon....Thank you....

    • @TobyRyan
      @TobyRyan  Před 4 lety

      Yes, Cubase is fully integrated and is a supported DAW for the A series Komplete Kontrol. You can verify that here and make sure it’s exactly what you’re needing. www.native-instruments.com/en/products/komplete/keyboards/komplete-kontrol-a25-a49-a61/ while I don’t use Cubase, I’ve seen it used in that DAW before. What you can expect, are fully mapped controls to host controls like Start, Stop, Record, Skip, and even more depending on your DAW and it’s unique features.

    Thanks a lot, Ryan! Very cool presentation.
    My only question is... how good the keybed is? I'm interested in the A49 model, but I don't know how the keys compare with Arturia's KeyLab Essential 49.
    Can you give some feedback please?

    • @TobyRyan
      @TobyRyan  Před 4 lety +2

      When I tested them out at my local music store, a lot of the semi-weighted Fatar key beds and action felt surprisingly similar enough that I didn’t mind. I’m pretty invested in both Arturia and Native Instruments products now, so it was a difficult decision. The main reason I went with the Native Instruments keyboard is the NKS integration between software instruments and the keyboard. It did not seem like a big deal until I used it, adjusted knobs and realized how the tactile feeling of interacting with an instrument elevates the experience of songwriting. It’s pretty subjective, but I felt that alone made the biggest difference to me.

  • @claudiat6609
    @claudiat6609 Před 3 lety +1

    Does it includes full free DAWs? Like logic or ableton?

    • @TobyRyan
      @TobyRyan  Před 3 lety

      It comes with Maschine Essentials. It’s very easy to learn DAW built more towards a workflow that helps with writing song ideas quickly. They have an optional higher tier that comes with more sounds. This version that comes with Komplete Kontrol is the full software with the tools, just not all the sound libraries and samples. It’s great with songwriting, arrangement, ideas, and beat making. Its biggest strike is recording live instruments and vocals. You can sample live audio, but it’s not centered around or designed for recording live instruments in a traditional sense like Logic or Ableton. If you’re needing tools for those purposes, such as vocals, I’d recommend either Logic or Ableton.

    Nice video! Do you know how long the included cable is?

    • @TobyRyan
      @TobyRyan  Před 3 lety +1

      that’s a very good question. It’s about 2 meters. I tested longer cables but sometimes ran into issues with NI hardware that doesn’t use an external power supply. I recommend using the included USB cable specifically for reliability. Here’s NI’s official source article about cables if you’re interested. support.native-instruments.com/hc/en-us/articles/210293725-Choosing-the-Correct-USB-Cable-for-Your-NI-Hardware-Device

    Which one is better this Komplete Kontrol A25 or Native Instruments Komplete Kontrol M32 ?

    • @TobyRyan
      @TobyRyan  Před 4 lety +1

      the main differences between them are: A25 has a few less keys, but a physical pitch and mod wheels. The M32 has pitch/mod touch strips instead, it’s slimmer, adds 7 more keys to the keybed and is more affordable. If it’s a choice between the two, decide on budget first and then if physical pitch/mod wheels are as important to you vs touch strips. You can’t go wrong with either options.

    3:58 what scale is that?

    • @TobyRyan
      @TobyRyan  Před 3 lety +1

      it's the E minor scale. It's surprisingly an easy scale to learn as it's only 1 flat/sharp note. If you really want to vibe it up, E harmonic minor is very similar to it and gives a splash of extra character.

    Is it Easy to use the keyboard w FL studio?

    • @TobyRyan
      @TobyRyan  Před 4 lety +1

      FL Studio, from what I’ve read is only supported inside the Komplete Kontrol VST plugin that comes with the keyboard. What that means is it won’t be able to do the Host Integration feature, (example: control the Start, Stop, Play, and Record with the hardware buttons.). Here’s the source for that information. If you’re curious, I’d recommend reading about it more and searching what other FL Studio users think. support.native-instruments.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360003799438-Komplete-Kontrol-A25-with-Fl-Studio-20-en-us-

    mine came with screen scratched or there is a screen protector on it?

    • @TobyRyan
      @TobyRyan  Před 5 lety +1

      Come to think of it, mine had a small factory protective screen sticker on it. I usually leave those on as long as possible, however I took it off for the video. Now that you mentioned it, I checked and I do have a few light scratches on the screen. While I can’t see them with the screen on, knowing they’re there is kind of a bummer.

    No DRUM PADs ! That's inKomplete

    • @TobyRyan
      @TobyRyan  Před 4 lety +2

      That’s a fair point. There are lots of trade offs for each brand. Thats also what the Maschine is designed for - people that want drums pads. Arturia has a great keyboard that has both pads and keys if that’s what you’re into but then it doesn’t have the same software. Depends on your needs as an artist, the ecosystem of software you’re willing to move into and more importantly the one that inspires you most. Keep researching my dude! You’ll find what you need. ✌🏻
