I also recently found (switch version) if you want to duplicate furniture, decor or craft able items when you are in edit mode drag the item to where you usually place it…instead of placing hit “Y” and it will put it back in your inventory but you will notice you now have an extra one! And no mats or valuables were used. This helps a lot when decorating multiple rooms later in the game and not spend all mats etc
