It's the same here in the UK, mostly: if its Winter and its sunny, its usually freezing cold, too. It means the re's an area of high pressure over the region, little wind and cloud cover... and that seems to be the key, especially if the night is clear and cloudless. The lack of cloud at night allows what warmth the Sun provided during the day to escape, and things just don't warm up. Mind you, that's good if you're ice fishing-you don't want anything to melt the ice!
The excitement begins when you're pole bends . The second excitement is when your finally see what you got . It's great to see you're cooking right on the pond 👍👍👍👍

The sunniest days are the coldest (especially at night) because the clouds kinda keep any heat that the earth got during the day in...like tupperware I guess. Bluebird day = bitter cold nights

I’m sure there’s a lot of tutorial videos out there. But I just cut along the spine and then cut the rib bones out completely.
