@@INZEAIR84 during the landing checklist, the caption just said landing checklist complete and the FO confirmed. But how is it comoletr if he didn't read out anything? Or how does it work?
Because we use ECL, electronic checklist which select automatically some items green when they're done, for the landing checklist, if we're in landing configuration, we see it on the screen and we say checklist complete as it has been completed automatically by the aircraft (as far as we have lowered ldg gear, extended flaps, etc.)

Great video. I'm curious though as to why French is spoken between ATC and the pilots when English is the universal aviation language? Especially in such an international airspace. I have seen this in other videos in other countries but just curious. Thank you!
Well, I'm not answering for him but my hypothesis is that as the controllers and the pilots are all french when a AF flight comes to Paris, why would they use english when they all can talk french
It’s not just France when you go to places like Mexico they speak Spanish instead with the home based pilots
The officiasl ICAO languages are :English, french, spanish, arabic, russian, and chinese......
I find it interesting, too. The checklists and anything to do with the flight are all in English, even when they're talking to the tower in French.
The French ATC know English.. it's the universal language of aviation. French was the universal language of the seas for a very long time.
@@crypto1701 Checklist at air france until 2016 were done in french and don't were you heard anything related to english when the speak french with tower.Besides there's nothing wrong with talking french it's allowed. ICAO official languages are english french spanish arabic russian and chinese

Merci c'est sympa ! Non nous ne sommes qualifiés que sur un seul avion à la fois. J'ai fait 7 ans d'A320, puis 4 ans d'A330/340 et maintenant 5 ans de B777 mais on ne mixe pas 😉
Moi qui suis habitué à regarder ce genre de vidéos avec les échanges pilotes / ATC en anglais, qui restent somme toute sommaires, pour le coup je suis impressionné pas la cordialité et la politesse des échanges en français qu'on entend dans cette vidéo. Au delà de ça une très belle video, merci de nous faire partager ces images qui sont pour nous des petits bouts de nos rêves de gosses...

No they don't provide us cameras ;) a few of us are doing that, AF kindly tolerates that as far as we are respectful of our crew mates, of the rules and regulations, etc.

Thanks to you 🙏 before 777 I was at first on 320 for 7yrs and then 330/340 for 4yrs (I started this channel on 330/340) and obviously light aircrafts when I was young and when I was in training;)

Great video, but i have a question. In some videos, during checklist readings, ive seen pilots go like:
Pilot flying: landing checklist please.
Pilot monitoring: landing checklist conpleted.
How does that work if the PM just read checklist completed?
On B777, Boeing procedures (fcom) ask us to work as you can see in all my videos but on other airplanes or in other companies it can be different. There's not a single way to call checklist. At Air France we operate different types of aircraft and we have to adapt when we change from one to another during our carrier. That's why we are qualified on one type at a time.

The aircraft which took off when you guys holding short on 08L was a 777 rather than A350 😅 So that wasn't AF934 I think??

When selecting headings and altitudes do you push the button for it to activate? Cause I've seen that when setting the go around altitude even when in autopilot the aircraft doesn't climb.
When in LNAV, selecting a heading won't have any consequences as far as you don't push the button to switch from LNAV to HDG SEL. For the altitude knob it's different and more complex!

Les becs retardent le décollement des filets d'air sur l'extrados permettant ainsi de voler à de plus fortes incidences et donc à des vitesses plus faibles !

C'est la forme bombée de l'aile, il y a plus de distance à parcourir sur l'extrados que sur l'intrados et les deux filets d'air doivent arriver en même temps au bord de fuite.

Is there an understanding as far as language spoken with ATC? Assuming for example and English-speaking airline would speak English. If language is mixed on frequency doesn't that create a difference in situational awareness depending on who speaks what?

Passé 5000 pieds vous et le commandant discutiez de fusée au niveau des Mureaux. N'est il pas déconseillé voir interdit de parler d'autre chose que ce qu'il se passe dans le cockpit sous 10 000 pieds ou y' a t-il une règle spécifique à chaque companie aérienne ?
la priorité reste sur le procédure mais quand elles sont faites et compléter ils peuvent avoir des discussions brève
