I was convicted of Drink Driving 37 years ago and have never committed any driving offence since. However since my conviction I have noticed things that don't make sense to me. For example, if you haven't been drinking or speeding, you are not using a mobile phone and you are wearing a seat belt you can do whatever you want really. You can even kill people and still keep your driving licence. Also when I was breath tested on a random stop and driving fine, being disqualified made me realise that the law considers risking an accident to be far more serious than actually having an accident. Lastly if you are disqualified for being a small amount over the legal limit your criminal record will be the same as a driver who has drank 15 pints and caused an accident. Something wrong with the law.
How about NOT drinking alcohol and then driving a car .... DOUBLE DARE you to go up to a 6-foot 5-inch 280-pound guy who is "Ripped" who has lost a relative to a drunk driver and say to his face........ "It is perfectly OK to drink and drive" ..No somehow I did not think you would... DO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE..... The person in the other car might NOT want to be maimed or killed...Just saying! If you are going for a night out with friends please book a taxi to get home and leave your car at home... EDIT.... If you have had a lot of alcohol to drink on the night ... There is a good chance you will still be over the "Legal limit" the next day.

Why? They did it, no excuses. Unless their drink was spiked.
