Most of these Chinese migrants would claim political persecution as the reason for leaving China. However, if you ask them about their view on Taiwan independence, the majority will fiercely argue against it. In their point of view, it is absolutely righteous for themselves to enter the US illegally to pursue their freedom, but it is sinful for the Taiwanese population wanting to live freely outside the ruling of Beijing dictatorship.

It is an open secret that this the better way to enter the US. It take more than 10-15 years of application to do it legally whereas entering without document is almost instantly. You can start making money and live the so called American dream in about 6 months. I knew of people from different countries that came here illegally and now are doing OK or quite good. Whereas many people who opted for the legal route are still stuck.

@@EB-jf5oi Myanmar and China are neighbors. But when the Rohingyas lives were threatened and many killed, rather than go to China a walking distance away, they went to Australia, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, India, Nepal... but not a single one wanted to go to China.

There are about 725,000 Indian illegal immigrants in the US - the third-largest population of unauthorised immigrants after Mexicans and El Salvadorans - according to a Pew Research Centre report released in November.
Immigrants from China are on the no 7 list followed by South Korea.

These Chinese people have a good education, rich work skills and experience, and are law-abiding. They hope that Americans can treat them well and fulfill their responsibilities as a democratic country.

That's because GDP is a worthless metric of economic well-being, at least as far as ordinary people go. GDP per capita is a better metric. Countries like USA, Australia, Norway, etc are in the top 10, China and India (both have high GDP) are in the company of third world countries.
All a high GDP means is they've got a few very rich people and the resources to spend on things like building the military, but it doesn't mean anything for standards of living.
